Interesting start, though perhaps a little short... I take it the first bit is what's happening "now", and the rest is flashback? Good writing nonetheless, hoping for more.

It's a good start, but you might consider leading up to a more exciting point before you end the chapter to make the reader really interested. It is good, though... keep up the good work, I'll be reading. ;)
