Buffy rids the house of all magical items, much to Dawn's resentment.
Spike shows up unexpectedly, and flirts with Buffy until a case
worker from Social Services arrives and highlights Buffy shortcomings
as Dawn's guardian. Later, Buffy is turned invisible, courtesy of
the Troika. While her friends try to help her, an inhibition-free
Buffy sabotages Dawn's social services file and hauls Spike off
to his bed for multiple rounds of sex before he figures out she's
just using him, then kicks her out. After frightening Dawn with
her irresponsibility, Buffy learns her invisibility will soon kill
her. Without using any magic, Willow tracks down the Troika. They
arrange a meeting with Buffy so they can return her to normal. In
the mayhem that follows an invisible battle, Willow saves Buffy's
life and Buffy discovers the identities of the Troika. Buffy and
Willow have a heart-to-heart, and Buffy admits she's had a revelation:
she no longer wants to die.
