- Bottom to Top: The Angel Episode Countdown

  And we continue the countdown...

Here we go again. Wait...I forgot my coffee. Ok, now....

Note: We're starting to get into episodes found to be throwaways, not so much "bad episodes", just "blah" episodes.

#90 - Bachelor Party
[episode 1.7]

There are some funny moments in this one, but it's also a kind of silly concept. Angel getting beat up by a couple fratboy-looking demons outside the party was a little unrealistic. Although he came back and won. Also I found it weird that they didn't mention calling Harry when Doyle died later on, which makes Harry (just like Nina the werewolf) basic cannon fodder, except for the cannon part.

#89 - Redefinition
[episode 2.11]

Sure, we get the gang dealing with Angel firing them, but we also get a really lame voice-over from Angel about getting ready to battle Darla. It's of equal badness to that voice-over Buffy does while Angel is all animal in "Beauty and The Beasts". You know which one I'm talking about -- the "wilyness" one. Yeah, bad.

#88 - Disharmony
[episode 2.17]

I don't really dislike "disharmony", I just don't think it's a relevant episode. Although it does help Angel out in the last season remembering that Harmony can't be trusted. And of course, the scene with Cordelia calling Willow was great, but one scene does not a good episode make. Plus, anything with pyramid schemes curdles my stomach.

#87 - Hell Bound
[episode 5.4]

You'll never take me to hell, Pavayne! A very slow building episode that seemed like it could be widdled down to 15 minutes if needed. Marsters's acting is tremendous but it doesn't save it. It's kind of a boring mess in an otherwise interesting and entertaining season. Plus, I'm also a little miffed at the WB for tagging a "parental advisory" to it when it really wasn't all that explicit -- almost as if it were a ratings ploy.

#86 - Quickening
[episode 3.8]

I love Sahjan. Any scene with him in it is good TV. Again, I really have nothing against this episode except that it really wasn't anything special, thus towards the bottom of the list. Good lines, funny stuff, Darla wanting to side with the vampires in the hospital until she finds out they'll kill her too. Oh, that Darla -- always watching her own back. It's really just an episode to get us where we're heading. In this case, heading towards whining hell from the vamp offspring - you know who.

Parts -> [4]   [3]   [2]   [1]
Check back for the next 5...coming soon!

Atalanta: The Quickening isn't bad. And I enjoyed Harm's Way.. not a brilliant episode, but always entertaining.

Lurker: Redefinition has to be a lot higher,..that episode ruled my butt!! - everything is great!

Lucky: harms way shouldnt have been done at all

Kirsten: Yeah, I gotta agree with Lucky. . . . I would have put "Harm's Way" below "Hellbound." Yeah, "Hellbound" may have been slow and could have been done in 15 minutes, but "Harm's Way" should have been done in 5. . . . so it's finally happened. Matt and I have begun to disagree. •sigh•

Lucky: ya where is Harm's Way???? that episode sucked and it still hasnt been listed
(08.10.2004, 17:05)

G Thing: I love "The Quickening". "Hell Bound" and "Redefinition" are well worth seeing as well. I guess Matt's opinions are vastly different from mine. That's all I can say.
