Buffy and Dawn entered a shop called, The Leaky Cauldron and where taken upstairs by a young witch in dark purple velvet robes. The young witch left them in front of the door to the meeting and left without saying another word.
Slowly, Buffy opened the door and both girls entered the room and found an elderly gentleman with a long white beard and half moon shaped glasses waiting there. There were a few others in the room but none Buffy could recognize.
The room was large and spacious with 2 windows on the far right wall that overlooked the street below that the port key had transported them to earlier. There were 15 chairs placed in a circle in the center of the room.
The elderly gentleman greeted them warmly and with a large grin on his face, "Hello, Ms.Summers. I'm pleased to meet you. I'm Professor Dumbledore," he turned to Dawn, "Ah and you must be Dawn. I'm so pleased you decided to join us this term."
Dawn smiled, "Thanks."
"It's nice to meet you," Buffy said, smiling as she awkwardly shook his hand. "Umm what exactly will I be teaching?"
"Ahh all in due time. I'll explain everything once the others get here," he said.
"Others?" Buffy inquired.
"Yes, a few have already arrived," he said motioning around the room.
A man with bleached blond that could be anything but natural and intense blue eyes came over to say hello, "Hello love I'm..."
But Buffy interrupted him before he could finish his sentence, "A vampire," she blurted out.
"I was going to say Spike but yeah I am what of it?"
"Spike is a good vampire. He has a soul," Dumbledore cut in before a fight ensued and one of his teachers ended up dead.
"I guess there's a first time for everything," Buffy said skeptically as some other people entered the room.
When Giles entered, Buffy and Dawn went over to greet him.
"Hey, you made it," Buffy said, glade to see a familiar face.
"Yes without too much difficult it seems but the trip over was umm," he spoke, searching for the words.
"Like a roller coaster ride after you ate a ton of food,'" Dawn supplied.
"Well, yes actually," he said.
Dumbledore spoke over everyone, "Well it looks like everyone is here so please sit down." Everyone took a seat as Dumbledore sat himself down and continued, "I have invited you all here because some of the teachers at Hogwarts have been called away on business and they will be unable to teach this term, so I have called upon you to take their places; temporarily of course," he added as an after thought. "You have all been chosen because of your skill and knowledge of or with things most muggles wouldn’t understand."
"Muggles?" a young African American man who is probably in his early to mid 20s asked (Gunn).
"Non-magic folk," he replied with a smile, "Alright then I don't believe any of you have met before so why don't we go around the room and introduce ourselves. I'll go first. My name is Albus Dumbledore and I am headmaster at Hogwarts. I am also a practicing wizard," he finished and looked at the young women to his left with a smile.
"Oh, umm. I'm Tara Maclay and I'm a witch," she stuttered and smiled.
"Hi. I'm Cordelia Chase. I'm from L.A. and I'm a seer as well as part demon......by choice," she added quickly, nodded her head once at her response and smiled.
"I'm Angel and I'm a vampire with a soul."
"Like Spike?" Buffy asked.
Spike broke in, "No, he's nothing like me first off we have completely different coloring and secondly I got my soul on my own. Peaches here," pointed at Angel, "was cursed with his."
"I'm guessing you 2 know each other," Cordelia said.
"Unfortunately," Angel said annoyed as he glared at Spike.
"Alright let's continue," Dumbledore said. It seemed as though he has taken on the role of peace keeper in the group.
"I'm Connor, Angel' son and I'm from L.A."
"A vampire with a son truly remarkable," an English man with glasses and brown hair said more to himself then anyone else, "Umm, I'm Wesley Wyndom Pryce and I'm a watcher," he said as though everyone should be impressed.
"Is that like fancy English talk for stalker or something," Gunn asked.
"No it is not," Wesley replied offended.
"Hi, I'm Willow Rosenberg and I’m a witch too," she said happily with a friendly smile.
"Nice to meet you red," Spike said to Willow. "Right then I'm Spike and I'm a vampire with a soul." He turned to Buffy, "Your turn love."
"I'm Buffy Summers and I'm the slayer."
"Bloody hell, so that's how you knew," Spike said.
"What’s a slayer?" Gunn asked.
"Slayer, like the band?" Fred chimed in.
Wesley stood up, "Best they here it from a professional. Into every generation a slayer is born, one girl, a chosen one."
In unison Buffy and Wesley spoke, "She alone has the power and skill to stop the vampires."
Buffy continued alone, "Yada, yada, yada."
Dawn looked at her sister and then turned to the group and began to speak, "Hi. My name is Dawn Summers and I'm Buffy's sister."
"Yes, well I'm Rupert Giles and I'm watcher to the current slayer as well as the proprietor of a magic shop."
"Hey, Percy it looks like he's got you beat mate," Spike joked.
"I'm Xander Harris and I'm not a vampire or a slayer or a witch or anything but I did go to school on a hellmouth for 4 years if that helps," he shrugged.
"I'm Anya formally known as Anyanka. I'm an ex-vengeance demon, who helped scorned women by punishing men," she said a little too happy.
"I'm Gunn."
"Gun! where?!" Wesley exclaimed as he ducked for cover.
"That's my name. Charles Gunn and I've been fighting vamps in L.A. my whole life."
"Wait a second how come some many of you are from L.A. Yet you've never met each other before?" Dawn asked. They all just shrug.
"It's a big city," Cordy said with a shrug.
"Hi, y'all my name is Winfred Burkle but you can call me Fred and I've studied lots of stuff on demons, demonic languages, and spells, and stuff. I also spent 5 years in a hell dimension called Pylea."
"Well now that we're all properly introduced, I can assign you your classes," Dumbledore stated, "Dawn and Connor will be attending as students of course. Ms. Summers we felt it would be most appropriate for you to teach Defense Against the Dark Arts with the help of Spike." Buffy sighs. "Angel and Ms.Chase will be teaching Divination, Ms.Burkle Potions, Ms. Maclay Charms, Anya Muggle Studies."
"O I'm so pleased," she said clapping. Xander smiled at her.
Dumbledore continued, "Ms. Rosenberg will teach Herbology, Mr. Giles History of Magic, Mr. Pryce Transfiguration, Mr. Harris and Mr. Gunn Care of Magical Creatures and we wondered if Ms. Maclay and Ms.Rosenburg would like to teach a new class called Wiccan Studies. Considering your backgrounds we thought it might benefit the students to have an opportunity to learn about a different type of magic."
"That sounds like fun. What do you think Tara?" Willow said as she looked at the other girl.
"I think it’s a great idea," she smiled.
"Excellent. Of course the class will be an elective not mandatory but I'm sure their will be many students interested. Tomorrow you will be given the day to shop for any supplies you will need for the coming term. I've taken the liberty of providing you each with a list of books that might prove helpful with your classes. Your tickets to the Hogwarts express are also included. Your train leaves from King's Cross the day after tomorrow and again I thank you all for your help. "I'll trust I'll see you all at Hogwarts," Dumbledore finished.
