Summery: After Buffy’s Death Dawn is called as the slayer. Set 5 years after season 7. Spike, Dawn, Angel and Willow have a little body swapping problem read it its ace. (Not that I’m gloating or anything ;-)
Author’s notes: short chapter I know but they will get longer. I promise.
Willow slouched as she walked home. She just wanted to sleep; she felt emotionally and physically drained. She leaned against Angel closing her eyes and letting him guide her in the right direction. Earlier on when they had all decided that it was best if they went home and rested, Angel had offered to walk her home, her feeling in no state to be walking home alone in the middle of the night accepted. They had left the others behind to make their own way home. Tara, Kennedy and Buffy not knowing where to go had agreed to go back to the Summers house, and Willow feeling too emotional to go with them decided she could stay at her parent’s house instead. Willow cuddled closer into Angel and finally giving into sleep.
Angel felt the young girl in his arms finally drop to sleep, her breathing slowing down and becoming deeper and her body relaxing also. Angel had been waiting for Willow to fall asleep; he had felt her unease since earlier and had hoped she would sleep soon. Angel moved his arms round Willow’s body lifting her into his arms and carrying her like a bride. Her house was just a few blocks away and he sped up finally reaching her door. He felt in his friend’s pocket finding the key and let them in. He then proceeded to take Willow upstairs left her a quick note explaining where he had left the key. Locking the door and posting the key back through the letter box Angel started walking home thinking about the beautiful woman he had just left behind.

Spike headed home in a daze. His feet leading him to his new apartment across at the other side of town. He had moved out of Dawn’s house when Willow had brought him back. When he finally got home he sat on the bed thinking about Buffy. There had not been a moment over the passed few years when he hadn’t, but these thoughts were different. She was back, the love of his life was back and he didn’t know what to do. Back there in Hope’s house he had wanted to just grab Buffy and tell her how much he had missed her, tell her how much he missed her. But he hadn’t, he didn’t know why he just knew that he couldn’t because he wasn’t sure he felt that way about her anymore. God he was still attracted to her but in the time that she hadn’t been there he thought he had finally began to move on. In the end Spike was too confused to think anymore and laid his head down thinking that only time could tell what was going to happen.

Dawn stayed silent on the way home. She didn’t know what to do. She decided eventually that it was just best to stay silent and let everybody think. She kept on glancing Buffy’s way occasionally just to make sure she was still there. It was weird but now that her sister was back she didn’t feel like she was the slayer anymore. But the weirdest part was that Buffy looked the exact same age as her. Hope was right Buffy hadn’t aged a bit, but Dawn wasn’t going to be fooled she knew that Buffy had seen everything that had been happening since her death and was the same age as Willow. When they finally got home Dawn laid down and before she even knew that she was tired she was asleep.
In the next room Buffy stared outside the window. She had seen everything that had been happening. She knew what had been going on. She had realised that Spike and Dawn were growing closer as was Willow and Angel. But here she was again, with her two true loves and she didn’t know what to do or think. She had missed them, missed them so much that her heart had ached and now she was back and she didn’t know where she was going to fit in. This had happened before but last time she had been the only one and also not in such an awkward position she just hoped that they would all get through this. Her, Tara, Kennedy, Willow, Dawn, Spike and Angel. She didn’t even want to think what she would have to do when she saw Xander and Giles again. She couldn’t even begin to explain what had happened. What would happen, none of her friends knew this but Hope had told her what was coming and she hoped with all her heart they could get through this.
Realising just how much was about to happen she pulled up a chair to the window and stared at the moon before it was too late to ever do so again. As she looked at the moon once more she prayed for her family and friends as she knew that’s all she could do.
