She ran down the hall afraid to be late to class again and ran into him.A tall, cute, boyish type of guy looked into her deep blue eyes as he helped her pick up her books,"Damnit!I knew I was gonna be late.I am so sorry um..."
"Conner.I'm Conner and it's really no big deal.I always like meeting new people."
"Oh.W...well thanks Conner."She got up and smoothed out her hair after he handed her back her books,"But I really gotta get to class or Professor Sidel is gonna kill me."
"Sidel.Hey I think I had him last year.He's a real dick. Oh I'm sorry I didn't catch your name."
She blushed then said,"Dawn.Um so you must be a sophmore then.But I...I really gotta get to class."She smiled and was about to walk away but he stopped her.
"You probably shouldn't.I was late to his class once and he makes you stand in front of the class while he chews you out then makes you explain why you were late.It's best to just not show up at all."He tried to be calm but his palms kept getting sweaty.
"Oh well I could just tell him I was sick.Yeah.So what, um,are you busy right now?"She was less calm and more jumpy especially when she spotted the stake Buffy had given her lying on the ground next to his foot.
"Um nothing really.I don't have class til tomorrow."He told her and was about to ask her for coffee when she "dropped" her books again and leaned down and picked them all up and then shoved something into her purse.
"Do you wanna go out for coffee or something?"She asked him finally gaining some courage.
"Um I wish but I have something relly important to do right now so rain check?"
She looked disappointed,"Sure.Bye."
"Well I'm gonna need your number if we wanna talk again."
"Oh ri-right.It's 653.415.3398."She said really quickly but then realised that he probably didn't understand her since she was talking so fast,"Let me just write it down.Do you have a pen?"
"Yeah.Here."She pulled one out of his pocket and handed it to her and held out his hand for her to write it on.After she finished writing it she smiled and walked away.This was the beginning of a beautiful friendship.
