"What were you thinking!" she yelled, not caring who could hear.
"I don't know. We looked at each other and then, it was like we were the
only people in the world. It was like we were the only people in the world.
Next thing I know you showed up and so did that demon." He told her, not
quite making eye contact.
Elle slumped in Angel's chair, her head in her hands. "God, I forgot how
hard the world could be."
She rested her elbows on the desk, and then put her head in her hands. "So,
what are we going to do about this so called spell?"
Angelus mumbled under his breath.
"What was that?"
"Nothing."
"Don't you fucking lie to me Angelus! I'm sticking my neck out for you here
so don't make me fucking regret it!" she snapped.
Angelus was shocked. Never, had he ever heard her speak like that to anyone.
"I'm just going to forget that it ever happened. This time. Next time you're
on your own." She said icily as she walked back out into the lobby.
By this time the sun had set, and the LA night life was coming out to play.
"Elle?" Angel said.
"Yes?"
Angel paused. "There is a way of proving that you had nothing to do with the
massacre."
"What do I gotta do?"

"You have got to be kidding me! You expect me to sing?"
"Yes."
Elle scoffed. "What, so I sing and then you what? Make fun of me?"
"Well, I'd never do that sweet cheeks."
"Elle, meet Lorne. Lorne, Elle. Now sing."
"Prove it isn't a trick them."
Angel sighed "How am I supposed to do that?"
"How about if I go first?" Lindsey said.
"Fine."
Lorne handed Lindsey a guitar. "It sure is good to have to back cowboy." He
said as Lindsey fiddled with the tuning.
"It's good to be back." He said before he started singing.

Pretty girl on every corner
Sunshine turns the sky to gold
Warm warm, it's always warm here
I can't take the cold

Streets littered with diamonds
Every one's glistening
This whole world shines so brightly
I can't see a thing

Pretty as a picture
Seems like a golden rain
Settles me with love and laughter
I can't feel a thing

The sky's gonna open
People gonna pray and crawl

It's gonna rain down fire
It's gonna burn us all

The sky's gonna open
People gonna pray and sing

Oh, I can't feel a thing

Pretty as a picture
She is like a golden dream
Fills me with love and laughter
And I-I I can't feel a thing

The skys gonna open
People gonna pray and crawl

It's gonna rain down fire
It's gonna burn us all

The sky's gonna open
People gonna pray and sing

And I can't feel a thing

Oh, I can't feel.

The whole of Caritas applauded wildly, Elle included.
"Wow, you sure know how to pick 'em Angel." She said. "Ok, my turn."
She took the guitar from Lindsey, fiddled with the tuning, then began.
A week to the day since I met you
and already I'm feeling afraid
our first rendezvous and I let you
sweep me up in a passionate charade
you and your foolery have me amazed
I'm stifled by your inhibition
you're incessantly moving and ever so crazed

Take your mask off, boy
I wanna see you to know you
the real you shining through
take your mask off, boy
the show was over hours ago

What's beautiful
is when we're alone, all alone
you hold me in your arms
oh God it feels like home
there in the silence you tell more than any spoken phrase
your breath on my skin and I'm lost
I'm lost in your passionate gaze
When you take your mask off, boy
I can see you to know you
and what I see is wonderful
it brings me so much joy
to be lying hear with you
She hummed the last few bars and picked the last few chords.
When she was finished, everyone went wild. There were screams of "ENCORE"
from everywhere.
"Look sweet cheeks, go and sing again. But this time keep the mental walls
down huh?" Lorne asked Elle.
She grinned sheepishly. "Ok. Sorry." She pulled a disc from her pocket. "Can
you play this? I'd prefer to sing my own if I can."
"Sure sweet thing." Lorne said as he set up the cd, took the guitar and
headed back over to Angel and the others.
"Wow! She has got a set of pipes!" Lorne said to them as he sipped his sea
breeze.
They all watched as she removed her coat, revealing what was basically a
leather bikini with about 2 inches of extra fabric on the bottom, leather
pants and high heeled boots.
Wolf whistles came from around the club but she just ignored them and just
hit the play button.
The music swelled and she lost herself in the song.

I don't like to be alone in the night
and I don't like to hear I'm wrong when I'm right
and I don't like to have the rain on my shoes
but I do love you
but I do love you

I don't like to see the sky painted grey
and I don't like when nothings going my way
and I don't like to be the one with the blues
but I do love you
but I do love you

Love everything about the way you're loving me
the way you lay you're head upon my shoulder when you sleep
and I love to kiss you in the rain
I love everything you do, oh I do

I don't like to turn the radio on
just to find I missed my favourite song
and I don't like to be the last with the news
but I do love you
but I do love you

Love everything about the way you're loving me
the way you lay you're head upon my shoulder when you sleep
and I love to kiss you in the rain
I love everything you do, oh I do

I don't like to be alone at night
and I don't like to hear I'm wrong when I'm right
And I don't like to have the rain on my shoes
but I do love you
but I do love you
but I do love you......

Once again the crowd went nuts.
"That's it folks! My singing career ended about 7 years ago. This is a once
off. Enjoy your evening and goodnight!" she laughed as she grabbed her
leather coat and skipped (not literally) off stage to where Lorne was.
"Well?"
"What possessed you to give up singing with a voice like that!?"
"Lorne! This isn't the time for this!" Angel growled frustratingly.
"Shut up Angel. We have all night so just go grab a drink and try and have
some fun." Elle said, flicking Angel off.
"Don't worry Angel-cakes. She had nothing to do with your little massacre.
Drinks on the house." Lorne said as he too flicked Angel off.
Angel stood there with his mouth open.
Which gave Lindsey the perfect opportunity to kiss him.
Finally they pulled apart. "You really do pick the musicians don't you?
First Spike, then Elle and now me?" Lindsey teased.
"With you, the singing is just an added bonus." Angel smiled.

"So where did you say you used to sing?" Lorne asked Elle as he sipped yet
another sea breeze.
"Where ever the demons were. If I heard or read of something that involved
magic or demons, I went." She said, downing her fifth shot of tequila.
"Well, where did you learn to sing then? Cos that is one powerful voice."
"London. When I met Angel. Or really Angelus at the time."
"What do you mean?"
"I was his choice of desert one night. I was unhitching my horse when he got
spooked and started rearing. I started singing. I'd heard that it worded on
other animals and on babies, and I thought it might work on horses. It did.
Turns out Angelus liked it more than the horse." She chuckled. "He said that
was when he..fell in love with me." She said sadly, glancing at the dance
floor.
Lorne smiled softly. "Go on sweetie, have some fun on the dance floor and
show them how it's done." He told her.
"Thanks. Here, hold this for me?" she said, not bothering for Lorne to say
yes before she threw him her coat and bounced onto the dance floor.
Lorne smiled and walked over to where Angel's gang and the Scoobies had
pulled a couple of tables together and were talking quietly. Even Angelus as
Caritas was a violence free song.
"Here Angel-cakes. Your little chickadee is out a' groovin." Lorne said,
pulling up a chair.
"What?" Angel asked, as confused as ever.
Xander sighed dramatically. "Basically Elle is on the dance floor." he
explained to the vampire.
"Oh." Angel brooded.
"I think I'll join her." Lindsey said, slipping out of his chair and walking
over to where Elle was.
"Care to dance?" he yelled over the music that pulsated through the club.
"And what does Angel say to that?" she yelled back, slowly moving her hips
towards Lindsey.
Lindsey surprised her, grabbing her waist and turning her around, pulling
her flush against him. Both started moving and grinding against each other
in time with the loud music.
"Don't know. And don't care either." Lindsey told her, his hands splayed on
her hips and stomach.
"Oh, someone's being a bad boy." She chuckled, spinning around so one of her
legs was between his and she was facing him. "What are you trying to do
Lindsey? What are you trying to find out?" she whispered in his ear, nipping
the lobe between each question.
In response, he grabbed her ass and pulled her tightly against him, both of
them still grinding against each other, as the song changed.
"Why do you ask?"
"Because I smell the same thing that I smelt in the lobby right now." She
smirked, and dipped her head to his shoulder.
When she raised it, Lindsey got a bit of a shock. .
Her eyes had remained their natural deep ocean blue, her brow remained
wrinkled free, and all but two of her teeth were the same. All in all, her
vampiric features reminded him of Dracula, (Buffy season 5).
"Beautiful." He murmured.
"Is this what you want to become? A creature like me? Or are you simply
curious as to what it feels like to be fed from? Yes. I know you've never
been marked." She said off his surprised look. "Do you want me to Lindsey?
Right here and now?"
"Yes." He whispered.
