"Ewww!!!!" Buffy said. "You mean he's gay!?"
Spike smiled. "No luv. He's a vampire."
"Yeah. We basically fuck who ever we want." Angelus said calmly from his
position on the couch.
"Shh!" Elle said, "Listen."
Everyone strained their ears to hear what Elle heard from Angel's office.
"What was she talking about Angel?"
"Nothing McDonald."
"I'm going to ask you one more time, then I'm gonna go and ask them."
"Look, Linds, there's something..."
"What did you call me?"
"Huh?"
"What. Did. You. Call. Me?"
"Linds."
"Why? It's always been Lindsey, or McDonald or something else."
"I don't know. Look, uh, this kinda isn't gonna be easy for you, but, well,
uh, they were talking like that because I, uh."
"You what Angel?!" Lindsey said impatiently.
"I.I like you."
"Oh. Ok, so you don't hate me, and we can 'try' to be friends. And that
really doesn't help much Angel."
"Not like that Linds."
"What?"
"I don't like you like that. And judging by the way they were acting,
neither do you."
Lindsey stared at Angel.
"You're kidding me?"
"No. Lindsey I..."
Then things went quiet. Then they heard a thump and a crash.
"Two 'n a half minutes." Spike said.
"Nah. Give 'em bout 4-5 minute." Elle said, setting her watch.
"Huh?" Fred said, as confused as everyone else.
"Betting on how long till Peaches and the cowboy realize that we're still
here and come out of his office."
"You two are really sick, you know that right." Xander said.
"Yeah. You live together for about a hundred years and you pick up on each
others bad habits." Elle said glancing at her watch. "3. 2. 1. HA! You lose
Spike. Now, watch and learn from a master."
2 minutes later, Lindsey and Angel came out of the office looking rather
disheveled.
Elle smirked. "Told you. Now, pay up." She held her hand out to Spike.
Spike shook his head. "Bloody hell. How do you do that every time?" he said
as he handed over a $20 bill.
"I know Angel better than anyone. Even himself. As for our Mr McDonald.
Well, all that time being so close to Angel and not touching, it was well, a
dead give away." She smiled at Christian.
He chuckled and shook his head. "And I thought I'd left all this demon crap
behind me."
"Hey." Cordelia said suddenly. "Where's Angelus?"
Lindsey frowned. "Where's Casey?" His eyes widened. "You don't think.."
"I won't let anything happen to him." Angel said, placing his hand on
Lindsey's shoulder.
"I know."
Suddenly they heard a loud crash, followed by shouting.
Angelus and Casey came flying down the stairs.
"Porlygorthe." Was all Angelus said.
Angel's face paled. "Where's Elle?"
"Fighting it."
Angel nearly flew to the weapons cabinet. He went to fling it open, but the
doors wouldn't budge.
"They control wood, remember?" Angelus said, glancing at the stairs.
There was a loud bang, followed by some extreme curses, before Elle came
flying down the stairs.
"Ok. He's huge and really pissed off." She gasped, clutching her right
shoulder, which dangled uselessly from it's socket.
Spike frowned. "Need some help there?"
"Please."
Spike came to stand by her, grabbed her shoulder and wrenched it back into
its socket, eliciting a snarl from Elle.
"Ok. So, how are we gonna kill it?" she asked, rotating her shoulder.
"Why don't you just break the glass on the weapons cabinet?" Christian said
as he did just that.
"Ok, that was smart." Willow said.
Then Dawn screamed.
Standing at the top of the stairs was the Porlygorthe.
Wesley was frantically trying to find it in his books. "Aha, I have it. To
kill it you need to.."
Christian meanwhile, grabbed a battle axe and calmly threw it at the demons
head.
There was a sickening squelching sound, before the demon disintegrated into
nothing.
Everyone stared.
"Where the hell did that come from?!" Lindsey asked, as amazed as everyone
else.
"Working for an evil law firm as an assassin had it's perks."
"Whoa. Wait a minute. You work for Wolfram and Hart!" Gunn said.
"HAD. As in past tense. And yeah, it was for them. How did you know?"
"Worked there as a lawyer." Lindsey said.
"He was their 'Golden Boy'. Weren't you Lindsey?" came a new voice.
Everyone turned to see who it was. And saw Lilah Morgan, standing in the
shadows of the doorway.
"Hey, Lindsey. How's things been since you left?" she asked as she stepped
into the light.
Everyone gasped. She was a mess. Her hair was ratted, her face pale and make
up free. Her clothes weren't something that you'd ever expect to see Lilah
Morgan in. And then there were the numerous cuts, scrapes and bruises that
ran underneath her clothes.
"Now we're even Lindsey." She said as she came forward.
"What do you mean?" Lindsey asked, still wary of her.
"You." was all she got out before her leg collapsed out from under her.
Angelus was there in an instance, catching her before she hit the ground.
"Humans." He grumbled as he placed her on the couch just as Cordelia arrived
with the first aid kit.
"What happened Lilah?" Lindsey asked again.
As Cordy cleaned the scrapes on her arms, Lilah told them.
"There's this new guy who thinks he can take your place. His names Gavin
Park. Thinks he's some hot shot. But the problem is that the partners and
everyone else, is still going on about the 'Lindsey problem'. So Gavin
decided to 'get rid of the Lindsey problem, as well as the rest of your
family. As much as it seemed like I hated you, it was more like... respect.
Besides, you saved my ass. The least I could do was to help you out. I
completely wreaked his plans. See there's this kid, Billy. When he touches a
male, it's like they go insane. Nothing that a woman does is good enough.
Anyways, Billy touched Gavin, and then Gavin beat the shit out me. Then he
started beating a senior partner. She's dead. But Gavin's got none of the
blame. I have." She finished.
No-one spoke.
Cordelia handed her a brush and comb.
"Thanks."Lilah murmured, grimacing ass she tried to untangle the snares.
"Here Let me." Elle said kindly, taking the comb from Lilah and gently began
untangling her hair.
Conversation was non-existent for a while.
"Thank you." Lindsey said finally.
"Your welcome. As I said before. Now we're even." She winced as Elle worked
a particularly nasty snare out.
"Sorry"
"That's ok. I'll be glad to leave town though."
"Why?" Angel asked.
"Crenshaw."
"Huh?"
"Marcus Crenshaw?" Lindsey asked.
"Yeah. Seems like the S.P was his wife, and it's 'MY' fault that Gavin
killed her."
"Jesus! How have you survived this long?"
"HEY! Some of us have no idea what you're talking about!" Buffy said, airing
everyone's question.
"Marcus Crenshaw. A client of Wolfram and Hart. A very old, and very, very
powerful client. I'm guessing he's about 2500?" Lilah told them.
"Finished!" Elle said, running the brush through Lilah's now tangle and
snare free hair.
"Wow. That was fast."
"Well, maybe a little magic was used." Elle said as she went to sit down.
But changed her mind, and grabbed Angelus' ear, twisted it, and pulled him
after her, into Angel's office.
"Ouch! Hey that's attached you know!"
"Stop your whining, you sound worse than Spike when he doesn't get his way."
"OI!"
The office door slammed shut behind her.
