Chapter 4
London 1893
"What do you mean she's a slayer?" Elizabeth said as she staired at her husband and daughter. William walked over to his wife and pulled her into a gentle hug.
"It's alright Anne. I promise everything is alright." William said as he kissed Elizabeth. Elizabeth knew he had something serious to tell her because he only called her by her nickname in front of the children when there was something serious going on.
"Daphne honey why dont you go to bed. It's been a long day and I think you could use the rest." Elizabether said as she pulled away from William and went to hug her daughter. Elizabeth had been different than most mothers. She had refused to hire a nanny when her children were born because she felt that a mother should raise her children on her own. But now she didnt understand how she couldnt have noticed Daphne's powers. Especially recently. She'd have to have a talk with William about that.
"But Mum I really wanted to talk to Da about this."
"Darling please just go to bed. I want to talk to your father first. Then tomorrow morning we'll all sit down and have a nice long talk ok?"
Daphne nodded and retreated to her room.
As soon as Elizabeth heard the door shut upstairs she looked at her husband. "What did you do?"
William knew that Elizabeth knew something was wrong. 'Of course she would. She raised these children.' William thought as he kicked himself for thinking he could make her believe it was natural.
"And I repeat myself again, What did you do?" Elizabeth said as she walked up to her husband.
"Please Anne sit down."
Elizabeth sat down and glared at her husband.
"Now I know i should have come to you in the first place but I just didnt know how you would take it and honestly i didnt think you would notice."
"Notice what William."
"That Daphne was never supposed to be a slayer. She was never a potential."
Elizabeth glared at him. "Then how the bloody hell is she a slayer then?"
"Because of magic. The new slayer was a reckless woman that would have gotten me killed and council didnt want that. They said they couldnt have their watchers killed because of a reckless slayer...so they choose Daphne. They didnt even inform me until this morning. So I rushed back home and I found Daphne just in time." William looked up as his wife for the first time since she had sat down and saw a tear stream down her face. He fell to the ground in front of her. "I'm so sorry Elizabeth. God how sorry I am."
Elizabeth looked at him with tears in her eyes. "Then change her back. Make her normal again. Dont give her a death wish William. Please she's my little girl I cant lose her too."
William jumped back a little when he heard her say too. "What do you mean by too."
"Oh William every time you walk out that door I feel like i've lost you to the demons and monsters in this world. I never know if that's the last time i'll ever see you again. And I dont want to feel that same way about my daughter." Elizabeth said as she started to cry more.
"Oh Anne. I wish that there was something i could do but unfortunatly there isnt. I've tried so hard to make them undo it but they keep saying that they wont. But I promise you, I will do everything in my power to make sure that our daughter dies at an old age. I will protect her with everything I am." William said as he raised his wife's chin. "I promise you." He said as he kissed her.
Neither of them heard the tears of a little girl whose dream had been shattered as she walked up the stairs once again and shut the door.
L.A. 2004- Spikes Apartment.
Daphne sat there watching tv as tears from the memory of that day fell from her eyes. After she had told Spike that he was her father he had passed out. So Daphne had carried him to his room and was waiting for him to wake up.
"Ok so let me get this straight you're my daughter?" Spike said as he walked into the living room.
Daphne clicked off the tv and sat up. She looked at Spike and nodded.
"Ok how is that even possible because up until recently I was a vampire and I know for a fact vampire's arent allowed to have children."
"Well you see it is possible because i'm not from this time."
Spike sat back down in his chair. "What the bloody hell is that supposed to mean?"
"It means that I'm not from this time, this period or this dimension."
"Then where are you from?"
"I'm from another dimension that is made up of the opposite of what happened here."
Spike looked at her with a confused expression on his face.
"Let me explain. Have you ever heard the theory for every decision in your life you create a seperate world where the other decision was choosen?" Spike nodded.
"Ok well whoever turned you into a vampire made the decision to do so. But i come from a world where you werent killed. You lived and you ended up marrying my mother and having me and my brother."
Spike sat back and staired at the ceiling. He didnt know why but for some reason he believed this girl and everything that she was telling him.
"Bloody hell. Well was your mum pretty?"
Daphne glared at him. "Of course she was. My brother looked exactly like her. I ended up looking like my dad."
Spike looked at her a little closer and started to notice the similarities between them. He couldnt believe how he had never noticed it before.
"I can tell."
"So who killed you? And what happened to you in this world?" Daphne said as she sat back.
"Well to answer you first question her name was Druscilla. And as for the second one you know how souless vampires are. Spent over 100 years with Dru and then I came to Sunnydale California. Then something changed while I was there. I met a slayer that I fell in love with and Dru left me. I changed alot, and got a chip put in my head by the military that wouldnt allow me to kill people. I hurt the girl I loved and got a soul to be a better person for her. I died saving the world and here I am now."
"Oh."
"So earlier you mentioned that you're a vampire breeder. What is that?"
"Oh yea my unlucky card. Well a vampire breeder is a person or demon that allows vampires to have children."
"Um never heard of that before."
"Well you wouldnt because they're supposed to be extinct. In fact the one that gave me the power died in my arms."
London 1904
"Mum calm down I'm sure that da is fine I'll just got out and find him ok." Daphne said as she tried to comfort her confused and sad mother.
"Fine. Just find him and bring him home to me." Elizabeth said as she walked up the stairs. Nicholas looked at his sister as she walked to the door.
"Bring him home ok sis?" Nicholas said as he smiled at his sister then followed his mother upstairs.
Daphne didnt know where to begin. Her father had only been gone two days and he was only supposed to be going to council to settle a few things about his retirement. 'Well might as well start looking near there.' Daphne thought to herself
"Father!" Daphne screamed as she ran through the streets towards the council. "Can I help you miss?" the man at the gate asked.
"Where's my father?"
"Who is your father?"
"William Worthington."
The guard looked up the driveway then glanced back at Daphne. "Go in and ask for Jonathan Traverse."
Daphne ran past the guard and towards the building. Daphne pushed open the doors and ran straight in.
"Excuse me!" A woman screamed as Daphne ran past. After running up 4 flights of stairs Daphne found the man she was looking for. "Jonathan where is my father?" Daphne said as she walked into his office.
"Aww Miss. Worthington. Your father just left."
"When?"
"An hour ago." Daphne was gone before he could even say goodbye.
"Father!" Daphne screamed as she ran towards her house. "Bloody hell. Get off her." She heard as she ran past an alleyway near her home. She turned around and looked towards the alleyway. "Father?" She said as she walked towards the fight. As soon as Daphne saw it was her father she ran to him. "Da what are you doing?"
William looked at his daughter. "Well I was getting my arse kicked saving this girl but now that you're here I could use the help."
Daphne nodded and attacked the group of vampires.
L.A. 2004- Spike's Apartment
"There had to have been atleast 10 vampires that night. They were viscious so after a while I stopped watching Dad." Daphne looked down. "I never should have left him alone. I should have done something." Daphne said as she started to cry. Spike walked over to her and rubbed her back. "It's ok love." After a few minutes she stopped crying. "Daph." Spike said.
"Yeah."
"What happened to me...William?" Daphne looked up.
London 1904- Alleyway
Daphne walked over to her father who was lying face down on the ground. "Da." Daphne said as she kneeled next to him. "Dad?" She gently turned him over. "Daddy?" Her father blinked and looked at her.
"Daphne my beautiful daughter. I love you so much. You have made me so happy and so proud. Tell your mother and brother that I love them."
"No Da please dont go."
"I have to nibblet it's my time." Daphne began to cry as she kissed her father's cheek and watched him slip away from this life. Daphne cradled her father's body as she cried out her tears. Suddenly Daphne heard something behind her. She laid her father down and turned around.
"You." Daphne said as she got up and walked over to the girl that her father had saved. "What the hell were you doing in an alleyway at this time of night?" Daphne asked as she advanced on the girl. She couldnt quite figure it out but she didnt think this girl was all the normal.
"You ruined it!" The girl screamed as she changed into a demon with blue skin and long black hair.
Daphne stepped back after the girl changed. "What are you?"
The demon fell over and looked up at Daphne. "Your worst nightmare." The demon lunged at Daphne and bit her arm.
"Ow." Daphne screamed as she threw the demon off of her. She advanced on the demon's motionless body. Daphne stopped when she heard a strange sound. The demon was laughing. "What the hell are you laughing about?"
The demon kept on laughing so hard that it looked like it was having a seizure. Daphne grabbed the demon by the neck and lifted it up. "Now i'm going to ask you one more time...What are you laughing about?"
"You."
"What about me?"
"I have passed my powers on to you."
"Why?"
"Because...I'm dying and I have to pass them on to someone."
"But why me."
"Because you have nothing left to lose." The demon said as it died.
Daphne dropped it's body and walked back over to her father's lifeless body and carried him home.
Daphne quietly knocked on the back door of her house. Nicholas was in the kitchen when he heard the gentle knock. He nearly threw up when he let his sister into the house carrying his father's lifeless body. "Daph what happened?" Nick asked as Daphne laid her father on the couch.
"I found him. He was fighting vampires and he tried to save some girl and I showed up to help and someone must have got him." Daphne said as she crumpled to the ground and cried. Nick fell to the floor and held her as she cried.
LA 2004- Spike's Apartment
Daphne had fallen asleep after talking and crying for hours. Spike couldn't believe his ears. But he knew he believed this girl. She really was in a way his daughter.
-ring- Spike's cell phone startled him out of his thoughts. "Ello...Oh hello peaches. Yep I found her. She's fine so don't worry. I'll send her tomorrow ok. Bye" Spike said as he clicked off his phone. "I need a smoke." Spike grabbed his duster and went out on the balcony.
LA 2004- Darkness Party
Buffy walked into the club and began to look around. She'd gotten a description from Willy, who she'd found running another demon bar after he'd left Sunnydale. He'd also told her about a few clubs that the girl frequented. 'Well I dont see her anywhere.' Buffy sighed and walked over to the bar. "What can I get you gorgeous?" The bartender asked as Buffy sat down. "Water and I got a question for you." The bartender nodded and got Buffy her water. When he came back Buffy handed him 2 dollars. "What's your question?"
"You seen a girl here lately that's been extremely agressive?"
"Well depends are you looking for her or the blonde guy?"
"What blonde guy?"
"Earlier a guy asked about her then followed her out. They might have gone to his place."
"You know where that is?"
"Yea we call a cab for him every once and a while." The guy turned around and gotted down the address. "Here. And be careful."
"I will thanks."
" The name's Greg."
'Thanks Greg. I'm Buffy." Buffy said before she walked out.
Authors Note: This chapter is ok i guess. I loved the beginning because of the william and elizabeth connection. I bet you're all wondering what happens now? Who is Daphne's mother? Well I'm hoping to introduce who she was and what happened to her next chapter. Reviews are always nice!
