“Uh, well, thanks but we didn’t order any heroes,” Spike said once she was standing in front of them.
“Shut up, Spike,” Angel growled. He looked behind the girl and around the alley, but Gunn’s lifeless body was no where to be found.
Alexandra noticed Angel’s searching and offered, “He’s not here. I had the body removed, along with the army.”
“Let me guess, you’re the new liaison to the Senior Partners?” Angel asked raising his sword.
“Oh, no. I’m something much more, but that’s not important right now. What is important is getting you two vampires inside before the sun rises.” Alexandra snapped her fingers and suddenly the four of them were standing in the lobby of the Hyperion.
“Where are we?” Spike asked.
“My hotel,” Angel said, follwing Alexandra into his old office and watching her slip into his chair.
Illyria ran her finger across the desk and said with disgust, “I do not care for this place. It is filthy. I wish to go back to the evil company now.”
“Sorry honey, but Angel made sure that there’s nothing but rubble left of Wolfram and Hart. And by the way, Angel, this is not your hotel anymore. You sold it to Wolfram and Hart, just like your soul.” Alexandra propped her legs up on the desk.
“Angel? You sold your soul to them?!” Spike said, shocked. Suddenly his mood changed, “How much did you get?” Angel answered with a slap across the back of Spike’s head.
“I meant figuratively not literally, but I think I could make you a very reasonable offer if you’re interested, Spike,” Alex said with a grin.
“He’s not. Did you have a reason for taking us here?” Angel asked.
“Of course I did. You will soon learn that I have a reason for everything I do.” Alex responded.
“Well, that’s grand, pet. Mind sharing with the rest of us?” Spike said.
“You took apart the Circle of the Black Thorns. Angel, you killed Hamilton and left the former liaison in the falling Wolfram and Hart building. W & H’s own CEO is the one who brought it down. Talk about irony,” Alex said with seemingly no harsh feelings.
Angel, however, was not able to maintain his composure. “Thanks for the recap, but what exactly did you expect to happen. I fight evil, and you’re company was very evil.”
“You’re talking in the past tense, Angel, but Wolfram and Hart is not gone. In fact, I’m here to do damage control.” Alex said.
“Well, you’re going to have to go through us first,” Spike said, preparing for a fight.
Alexandra didn’t so much as flinch, “I could kill all of you right now without even breaking a sweat.”
