It was another beautiful Friday morning at school when Buffy giggled and skipped on the way to class, feeling the warmth from the sun on her face and begin to smile to herself.
She didn't even see Angel yet, but it only made her more excited and giddy to see him again.
Buffy was near the double glass doors of the school building when the bullies that were picking on little Angel yesterday were behind her, talking about her behind her back.
Buffy snarled a little bit to herself, didn't want to face them after what had happened with Angel.
"Hey, its that little girl that kept kicking us," the tall blond boy said, running up to Buffy with a huge evil grin on his face.
"What's wrong, shorty, don't want to hit us again?" the tall boy laughed then grabbed Buffy by her red dress.
He pulled her to him, but Buffy tried not to let any fear show on her face.
She turned away from looking at his face but the boys pushed her, causing her to fall on the grass, her dress covered with grass stains.
Buffy tried so hard not to be scared, but she could feel herself crying. She saw her left hand covered with a large cut, which was bleeding at the moment.
She then begin to cry softly while the tall blond kid looked at her then laughed, taunting her.
"You're not so brave now, little girl. You better not mess with us again," he said when something or someone pushed him to the concrete ground, his hands scraping off the little grits covering it.
A cut was beginning to form on his hand. He then looked at whatever had pushed him to the ground and growled.
It was Angel, standing behind him, looking proud as a soldier. He didn't have any fear showing in his brown eyes this time.
Buffy was still crying but then saw Angel standing behind the tall boy. "That's not right picking on a girl like that. You need to leave her alone, or I will have to hurt you again," Angel snarled at the boy.
There was something predatory glistening in his brown eyes while the boy looked directly at them, fear cowering on his face, his body began to shiver.
"Let's get out of here. Their both crazy," he yelled to his other friends.
Buffy stopped crying all of a sudden, not caring about the cut anymore as she ran to Angel, hugging him tightly against her as she kissed his cheek. Angel didn't even stop her.
He seemed to be enjoying it alot. He face turned a crimson red. " Thank you Angel. Thank you Thank you,"
Buffy exclaimed happily, her cross necklace pushing against little Angel's chest.
"It was my pleasure. I couldn't let them hurt you like they did to me. I had to help," Angel mumbled, looking down on his feet.
It seemed he had something hiding behind his back.
"I got something else for you Buffy. I hope you like it cuz it's Valentine's Day and all," Angel said, his left hand holding a long stem red rose,
It's fragrance
surrounding them both. "Oh Angel, it's beautiful. Thank you!" with that, Buffy gave Angel another kiss to his lips, not caring if people saw them.
Angel's face begin to turn more redder like a beet. "Awwww, shucks." He said, looking as cute as a button while still shuffling his feet.
Buffy held on to his hand while they began to approach the school building, both of them looking at each other and smiling. There was an instanct attraction surrounding them, but it was much more powerful than just seeing them for the first time.
As Angel and Buffy entered the building, two people, one a brother and sister, covered in gold stood behind them, smoke billowing around their tall bodies.
they were The Oracles, members of the Powers That Be sent to watch over the two future Champions of the Powers. They made sure nothing was going to happen to them. Nothing.
They didn't speak, just watched really, then disappeared. Buffy turned around, feeling like someone was watching her and Angel but didn't see anyone.
She turned her head and grinned at Angel, still holding hands. They were gonna begin their second day of school, spending as much time as possible together. The way the Powers wanted them to.
They didn't know that they were destined for each other, becoming lovers and then fighters against the powerful forces of evil.
Their destiny was going to be controlled by the Powers and the way they were meant to be. It was only a matter of time before their future was going to come knocking on their door....
