Buffy then saw little Angel being picked on again by the same kids she saw at the park yesterday. She was really furious that they were picking on a sweet kid like him and decided to help.
She dropped her pink backpack and ran across the school's front yawn when she yelled.
"Didn't I told you to get away from him?" Three kids turn to look and stare at her, including Angel. "It's that crazy girl that we saw at the park yesterday," one of the kids said.
"We should get outta here. I don't want that crazy girl to kick us again," the short kid yelled. Buffy gave them a evil stare as they took off, leaving Angel alone while he wiped the tears from his brown eyes.
He looked really scared and frightened, but he looked more adorable and grateful than ever. Buffy ran towards him as she grabbed his small warm hand and pulled him up, smiling at him.
Before she can ask if he was ok, Buffy saw a strange vision floating across her mind, this one of her growing up and seeing herself kissing Angel passionately, looking so tall and more gorgeous than ever.
She shook the image from her mind but she heard a word whisper across her ear."Soulmates."
Huh? What's a soulmate? Why was I even kissing him in the future? He's cute and all but still.
"Buffy, are you okay?" Angel asked sweetly but was still crying. Buffy felt so sorry for him. She promised him that she wasn't gonna let the big boys get him again.
She looked at that angelic face sadly. "I'm so sorry....Angel. I wish I could of helped you sooner," Buffy looked down on her feet, beginning to cry herself, really truly sorry she didn't help Angel sooner.
"That's...that's....okay Buffy. At least you helped me. But I got a bad cut on my knee that hurt's alot," said Angel shyly but manage to stop crying altogether. He wiped the rest of the dried tears from his eyes as Buffy went to give him a hug to comfort him.
I promise I won't let anyone hurt you again, my Angel. She smiled to herself as she managed to put her fingers through Angel's soft, spiky hair. It smelled really good, which brought another image to Buffy's mind.
This time, Buffy felt somehow that she knew Angel, really knew him. Like she knew him from the past or distant future. But all of this that was happening only made her more confused and less understanding. She shooked her head and saw Angel smile at her gratefully, but he looked so cute it melt Buffy's heart.
She grabbed his warm hand and held onto it. "You go to school here?" she asked as they walked towards the school building. Many other little kids turn to stare at Buffy and Angel, but she didn't care. She liked him. She liked him alot.
"Yeah. My first day. I'm suppose to have the same teacher as you," replied Angel shyly, not looking at Buffy. He was too shy to see her face but it only made Buffy's little heart melt even more.
He was too adorable and looked really angelic when he's really shy, Buffy thought and giggled as they entered the double glass doors, heading to Mrs. Walker's class. Buffy saw her mom and dropped Angel's hand in an instant. "Oh sweetie. I was so worried about you. Where were you?" Joyce asked, hugging her only child.
"I was helping... my friend Angel. Some kids at school were picking on him," Buffy replied, still looking at Angel. "Oh sweetheart. You should of told someone about that." Joyce managed to forget about it and kiss her daughter's forehead. She turned to look at Angel. "Buffy, is this your friend Angel?" Joyce questioned, sizing up Angel but smiled at him.
"Yeah Mom. Angel, this is my mom and mom, this is Angel, my new friend." "Its nice to meet you Angel," Joyce said as she shook Angel's little hand. "You....tooo....Mrs. Summers," Angel replied shyly but Buffy's mom already liked him already.
"Well I hope you two can get to class. Its almost late. I gotta go honey but I'll pick you up after school." "Okay mommy, bye," Buffy gave her mom a hug and turn to grab Angel's hand as the two future star-crossed lovers entered the classroom, smiling happily at each other as Angel tried to open the door for Buffy but was too short. Buffy smiled warmly at his gesture but Angel finally managed to open the door."Ladies first," Angel smiled sweetly.
"Thank you Angel," Buffy smiled back as the little ones entered their classroom, about to face the first day of school together as they held each other's hand.
