Willow and Xander : When they were kids

Summary: Ever wondered how a yellow crayon stopped Dark Willow? Read inside to find out more.

A little girl was sat on the floor, colouring on a piece of paper. She had short, red hair and a few freckles scattered on her nose. She was drawing a picture of, well, you can’t actually tell what it is. A small boy came over to her. He had dark brown hair and was quite tall for his age, 4. They were in Sunnydale Nursery School and it was colouring time.
“What are you drawing Willow?” the boy asked.
“The beach. There’s the sea, and the sand. I just have to colour in the sun,” she told him.
“What are you drawing Xander?” a young Willow asked him.
“It’s a biscuit. A hoho,” he told her.
Willow giggled, hoho’s were yummy.
“Pass me the yellow crayon please,” she asked Xander.
He passed her over the yellow crayon and she gave him the brown. Willow started colouring in the sun, when she pressed so hard that it snapped in two. Her face turned from a satisfactory smile to an upsetting smile. A few salty tears ran down her face and she started snivelling.
“What’s wrong Willow,” Xander asked, in a confused voice.
She managed to talk to him between snivels. “I broke (sniff) the yellow (sniff) crayon, and I’m gunna (sniff) get in trouble!”
Xander went up to her and hugged her.
“It’s ok Willow, they won’t shout,” Xander told her reassuringly.
Willow stopped crying and looked up at him. She smiled with gratitude, not realising that if this had never happened, the world would have ended. Willow picked up the broken crayon and dawdled over to the bin. She dropped it in, and then went over to the crayon box to get another yellow one.

When she got home later that night, she showed the picture to her mum. Her mum ignored her, so she went into her bedroom and slipped it inside her scrapbook. This is where it lays today.
