Holland Manners smiled as the figure, now corporeal, put down the phone.
“Revenge is sweet.” Holland said softly to the other two in the room, the figure and Lindsey.
“That it is.” The glowing evil figure agreed with Holland.
“Now umm…” Manners started to say as he looked at the once transparent figure. “What do we call you?”
“Well since I am a Senior Partner and your boss, I think Sir is appropriate. But I suppose you should know my real name, I am Ludien or Lucifer, whatever you prefer, but I think Sir is best.”
Manners smiled and opened his arms in a welcoming gesture. “Sir Lucifer Welcome to Wolfram and Hart.”
“Yes well I’m glad I can participate in this witty threat this young man has inflicted. Lucifer said smiling in an eerie way at Lindsey.
Lindsey wasn’t sure if he was to say Thank you and smile, but he didn’t want this to seem as if he was intimidated my Lucifer so he smiled awkwardly and said Thank you.
“It didn’t really plan it to be a threat.” Lindsey continued not wanting to meet Lucifer’s eyes.
Manners gestured Lindsey towards a conference table in the next room. “Can you please join us as we talk in the direction we would like to go with this threat?” Lindsey said. Then shook his head, he was talking fast and company like. He didn’t want to talk like that, Lucifer scared him and he wanted to stray away from this.
They sat down at the table; Lucifer was still smiling in that eerie way. Lindsey was about to say something about that but Manners spoke.
“The idea with the Slayer was genius.” Manners said.
Lindsey felt himself nodding and looking at Lucifer as if he was some god and Lindsey were a slave. Lucifer studied the room around him and then spoke.
“Although the Slayer and Angel are no longer together, Buffy Summers is still Angel’s weakness.” Lucifer said.
Lindsey nodded. “We don’t know much about the Slayer, especially her relationship with Angel should we research this?”
“Immediately.” Lucifer said still smiling.
“We will definitely start this is there anything else?”
“No, just make sure you get that research going, I want you to know everything about this girl, the way she fights, the boys she has been with, her favorite ice cream…everything.”
“I don’t think we have all that information, but I am sure we can get it as soon as possible.” Holland told Lucifer.
“Good, Good,” Lucifer said as he got up and headed for the door. Then he turned around. “I’m going to go out for a walk…it’s been awhile since I had my feet on the ground.”
“You’ll be back?” Holland asked.
“Of course.” Lucifer said, “I figure I’d do some research on my own.” He turned toward Lindsey. “Nice work, after this you should be ready for a promotion.”
Lindsey nodded like a puppet on a string, the puppet master jerking his head up and down. “Thank you sir, we’ll get on that research now.”
“That’s what I want to here, I’ll see you soon.” He nodded and walked out the door.
“That was…intense.” Lindsey said to Holland.
Holland raised his eyebrows and grinned. “Evil and Interesting.”
