"Alright," Nicole began. "this is about Anne, she's related to you."
"Ok...go on..." spoke Tomi.
"Well you know how Connor came about right?" asked Nicole.
"Yeah, he was born of two vamps. My dad and... what was her name...D-d-...d something..." stuttered Tomi.
"Darla. She had to sacrifice her life so that Connor would live. Well in another dimension, she decided that the baby wasn't worth it and she let it die." said Nicole.
Tomi was stunned. "Wow. Sorry, I won't interrupt." appologized Tomi.
"No, it's ok." replied Nicole. "Anyways, Angel kind of got upset. He wanted this baby so much. So they tried again for another child, and Darla wasn't happy about it. She was pregnant and decided to have the baby. She knew how much Angel wanted that baby. So she had it, and she also knew she had to die for it. Angel was very thankful of her. So he named the baby Anne, after Darla's mother. Angel also realized that Anne was Buffy's middle name as well. He thought a lot about Buffy, raising the child by himself. Of course the other Angel Investigations members also wanted to help Angel while raising her. He did mostly the same things he did for Connor. Hultz did the same thing, except Anne managed to get out of Quortoth earlier, so she's younger than Connor. We don't really know about what really happened in Anne's life, since she doesn't want to talk about it. We didn't really have much information about that alternate universe that Anne was born in."
Tomi took a little while to digest what she had just been told. She had a half brother, Connor. Now she knew that she had a half sister. "What was Connor's and Anne's reaction when they knew about each other?" Tomi questioned.
"Well," Nicole sighed. "there was a lot of awkward silences and they couldn't beleive each other existed. Some of us thought that they were sworn enemies, born from the same parents, but not knowing of each other's existence. We really don't know because believe me, you don't want to get either one of them on the subject." Nicole explained.
"Why is she in a boarding school?"
"She wanted to get away from all the confusion and chaos. She's planning to come back, 'when she's ready'. Whatever that means..." Nicole said.
"Oh." Tomi looked at the time. It was almost time for her to go and meet Willow to take her home. "I gotta go now. I guess I'll uh...see you around?"
"Yeah," answered Nicole. "see ya." With that, Nicole walked away in silence.
Tomi waited around for Willow to come and finally she came. "So...what did you think?" asked Willow.
"On a scale from one to ten...uh...I dunno. I saw uh Cas and Nicole." Tomi looked down.
"What?" questioned Willow. "Was it that bad?"
"No uh..." Tomi trailed off. "were you gonna tell me about Anne one way or another?" Willow looked at her in amazement. " 'Cause I had no idea that I had a half sister."
Willow looked a little worried and pretended that it was nothing. "Well yes. We just...didn't want to load you up on the info all at once, that's all. I mean we were gonna tell...i-it's not like we were gonna keep it from you." Tomi gazed at the window and hid her emotions. "We didn't mean to...who-who told you this?"
"Nicole."
"Oooh." They were both silent until they reached the house. Tomi walked in and searched for her father.
"Dad?" Tomi asked. She looked inside her parents' bedroom.
"Yeah." Angel answered.
"Were you gonna tell me about... um... Anne?"
Angel looked away. "I didn't want to tell you right away. We know how curious you can get. We thought you might run off and go look for her."
"I'm just curious because I really don't know everything. Could you just tell me, like a.s.a.p.? I don't like it when you hide things just to pro-"
"Protect you."
"I get that." she sat next to him. "So uh, do you remember Anne when you saw her?"
Angel didn't move. "Well-"
Buffy was listening from behind the door and interrupted. She didn't really want to get Angel on the subject. "Hi hunny. How was your day?" Buffy asked.
"Good, it was good." Tomi went into her room and sat on the bed. She was confused and lost. No one really wanted to tell her everything. She sighed and looked out her window into the darkness.
