Xander walked into Buffy's house. They were never going to guess who he'd found... "Huh." That was strange. The door was locked. Luckily, he still had his spare key.
"How's Willow doing?" He didn't turn around to look at the other. This was the first time that he'd mentioned Willow... Not that he was very talkative...
"She's doing well."
"She happy with Tara?" Xander turned around just as the key twisted, opening the door.
"Tara's dead." He shook his head, still not quite used to it, and turned back to the doorway.
What was stranger, the room was dark. From what Buffy'd said in the phone call, he'd expected it to be full of people--and demons of the souled variety--running all over the place, preparing for a battle.
He reached over to flip on the switch beside the doorway. The room lit up, showing Angel, Buffy, and some other boy--Codfish? Nah, no one would name their kid Codfish... Connor! That was it--lying unconscious on the ground. Unless he was evil--no, the description perfectly matched what Buffy had told him.
"Buffy?" Xander rushed over to her, feeling for a pulse. Deadboy was obviously still--well--dead, or rather, undead, otherwise he'd be in ash form. Who knew what Connor was? Angel had some kind of an interest in him, according to Buffy.... And Buffy couldn't be dead again.... No, Buffy was alive.
"You said an apocalypse was coming?" The other stepped into the room, taking in the sight before him.
"May have come and gone by now. But it'd be a shame if we missed it." Xander stood up.
Oz stared around. "Just like Sunnydale."
