A/N: This is a really short chapter, I know... But it was just meant to retrieve Connor. Which it does.
Angel and Willow reappeared behind Connor's house. "It's okay, no one's here," she reassured him.
"Good. I'm going to go and get him."
"I'll come with you." He looked at her questioningly. "We can pretend to be his parents."
He stared at her a little more.
"Well, it's only half a lie!" He finally shrugged, getting ready to go around the house. She walked beside him.
He rang the doorbell. Lawrence Reilly opened it. "Hello. Do I know you?"
"Angel--I'm Connor's father."
"Oh, good. He came into the house... It was quite frightening. Apparently he had some kind of an accident?"
"Yes. He was in a car crash a few days ago. We haven't heard from him since then. His mother and I have been terribly worried."
"This is his mother?"
"Oh... Yes. This is Willow. Willow--" he stopped, realizing that he'd forgotten her last name. She picked up on it quickly.
"Willow Rosenburg."
"Ah. Yes. He's in the kitchen. If you'll come this way, please?" Lawrence led them through the house, though Angel could've found Connor from the doorway on his own.
"Son! I've been so worried!"
"Hey, dad." Connor leaned on the kitchen counter.
"And your mother's been worried too."
Angel shot a warning glare at Connor before turning and gesturing to Willow. "Hi," she squeaked.
"I'm glad you're okay, Connor." "Sure. Thanks, da--Mr. Reilly. I'm sorry if I freaked you out."
"It's fine, fine. Go on. You just get better. Take care of him, Mr. Angel. I can just tell that your son must be a fine young man. I'm sure you're proud of him."
"Very proud," said Angel softly, as he watched Connor's face.
