Fred walked into the hotel, staring at the ad in the magazine in awe.
All you woman out there read this!!!! Beauty Contest held in Gambler Hotel plaza in Downtown L.A.!! We want to see all you feisty, sexy; women so come down and register! Ages 19-20. Bring a suitcase because if you are chosen to be one of the twenty-five then you will be staying in one of the many beautiful rooms in the Gambler Hotel Plaza!
On the bottom it showed the address and gave directions. Fred smiled and pictured her on stage. I could win a crown! I’ve always wanted to do that! She walked over to the phone and stared at it…I can call and register early, she thought. But decided against it, she’d go tomorrow, if only someone could help me get there.
Just then Cordelia walked in, she was smiling and laughing as Angel followed behind her. “And then she screams and runs the wrong way!”
Cordelia stopped laughing after she saw Fred looking up at her with anticipation. “Hey Cordelia, umm can you come look at this?”
Cordelia frowned, “It isn’t one of those pictures you showed us all last week? ‘Cause that was just disgusting.”
“Nope, ooze free” Fred giggled and put the magazine in Cordy’s face. “Read it!”
Cordelia looked down as her eyes scanned the page. As she finished it, she stared at Fred. “A talent Show!” she smiled, “Ohh I remember the talent shows we had in Sunnydale! Are you thinking of doing it?” she asked Fred.
“Do you wanna?” Fred asked
“Of course, that crown is mine!” Cordelia answered and then pondered for a minute. “We can’t go tomorrow, its Wednesday and well… I’m getting a manicure, Thursday, we’ll go, ‘kay?”
Fred nodded, “I wonder who else is going to try out?”
