The two walked in silence to Buffy's house, but she didn't mind much. She was just relieved to be going home finally. When they got there, he helped her up the tree and then followed her.
She climbed through the open window and turned on the light before he reached the opening. When he finally reached the window, however he stopped and said "I should go."
He turned away from the comforting glow of her window and started towards the tree.
"Angel?"
Her voice stopped him and he turned to see her at the window.
"Stay with me?" she asked and then added "At least until I fall asleep?"
He nodded and walked back to the window. He climbed into her bedroom as she turned the light back off and crawled under the covers. He laid down next to her and took her into his arms and softly stroked her hair. She quickly relaxed and felt herself slipping into a peaceful sleep.
"I love you" he murmmered as sleep finally claimed his love as it's next victim.
"I love you too..."
