Part Two

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Not too far from where Goliath was getting to know Sunnydale, Buffy and her friends left The Bronze. Unbeknownst to them, their worlds were about to collide.

"Sorry guys, I just didn't feel like hangin' in The Bronze tonight." Buffy brushed at her bangs, pushing them out of her face. "I just had this feeling that I needed to be out patrolling."

"No problema Buffster." Xander smiles at the Slayer. "Personally I'd like to find out who this new ally of our is supposed to be."

Buffy fingers the stake she had hidden in the inside pocket of her jacket. "I have this feeling that we'll find out soon enough. But hey, you all don't have to stay with me. If any of you want to go back to The Bronze, that's cool."

Cordelia shoved her hands into the pockets of her jacket, "While I admit that I'm not exactly dressed for this, and as much as it pains me to say it, I prefer your company right now. There is only so much mindless chatter I can handle."

The rest of the gang continued on their way, exchanging smirks. Of course Cordelia wouldn't admit that she actually wanted to hang out with them. It wouldn't be cool.

Goliath glided slowly by a burned building that took up almost a whole city block. He shook his head. "Pity, you don't see very many brick buildings anymore" He lands on the street next to the building, looking through its charred and broken windows wondering what had caused the fire.

"OH GOD! SOMEONE HELP ME PLEASE!"

Goliath turned to his left, the direction the cry had come from. "Just like home." Quickly, he runs off to answer the summons for help.

No more than a few blocks from where Goliath answered the call for help, the Slayer and her gang also heard the scream.

"Well Buffy, there goes the Bat Signal." Xander grinned.

"Buffy rolls her eyes, "Okay. Lead on then, Boy Wonder."

"Uh uh, no green tights for me. If I'm anyone its Nightwing." Xander stood straight and puffed out his chest.

Willow smirked, "More like Darkwing Duck."

Everyone laughed.

Cordelia stamps her foot, "Uh guys. I'd hate to break up your little super-hero bonding thing but aren't you forgetting something. Like the scream, going to help, beating up the bad guys?"

As they ran off, Xander quipped "I'm the terror that flaps in the night … I'm the bath brush that scrubs your back. I'm Darkwing Duck!"

* * *
Goliath rounded the corner and nearly bumped into a man holding a young girl by her throat. Her feet dangled several inches from the ground. When he looked closer, he noticed that he wasn't a man at all, but some kind of demon. The fangs classifying him as a Vampire.

"Put her down!" Goliath yelled as he took a swing at the Vampire, his eyes fierce.

The Vampire didn't respond, instead he ducked barely missing Goliath's claws. Before the Vampire could straighten back up and escape with his prey, Goliath swung his tail around, knocking the Vampire's feet out from under him. He reached out for the girl at the same time, catching her before she fell.

The Vampire jumped back to its feet, letting out a roar of fury.

"Oh look, we seemed to have crashed a party." Goliath looked up to see five teenagers. The petite blonde of the group ran forward and tackled the Vampire. She quickly removed a sharp wooden stick from her jacket and stabbed the Vampire, reducing him to dust.

Goliath remembered the young girl in his arms and set her down. She immediately ran off, headed for safety. The redheaded one starting chanting and Goliath felt a cold chill pass through him, but nothing happened.

Willow gasped, "I don't understand, it didn't work. That should have done something to a demon."

Goliath stretched his wings; his eyes glowed pure white as his anger mounted. "Perhaps it didn't work because I'm not a demon."
