Previously On Buffy…
Spike looks at Rayne and sees that one of the vampires has already been dusted, and is now facing the other one; she has just kneed the vampire in the stomach and then grabbed it by the neck. Somehow she is lifting it up from the ground and then throws it into a wall. Taking out a stake from her pocket she advances on it and then dusts it. Pleased with herself she dust herself of only to turn wide eyed at a gob smacked Spike.
The Start…
SPIKE: What the hell are you? (He says as he backs away)
RAYNE: I’m a potential, why else would I be here?
SPIKE: Whom the bloody hell knows, you could be working with the first
RAYNE: (said indignantly) Oh please, I am not working with the first
SPIKE: Yeah well, how did you manage to do that?
RAYNE: Do what? (She said nervously looking at the ground)
SPIKE Bloody hell love what do you take me for, I saw you with my very acute vampire eyes raise a vamp of the ground and stake him
RAYNE: Oh that…that was…
SPIKE: Spit it out already, what kind of demon are you?
RAYNE: I am not a demon (she said with abhorrence)
SPIKE: No well then you better tell me, before I start attacking
RAYNE: I can’t tell you, you’ll tell Buffy
SPIKE: Yes well, she’s the slayer…
RAYNE: (yells) This has nothing to do with her… (talks sombrely) I shouldn’t have come
Spike looks at Rayne who has begun to walk away
SPIKE: (said sincerely) If I promise not to tell Buffy will you tell me
Rayne halts and turns to Spike
RAYNE: I….
SPIKE: Come on love, I won’t bite… unless you want me to (he finished with a smile)
RAYNE: (smiling back) I’m…a-a Witch and a potential. Some how the powers that be screwed up big time, and put the whammy on the wrong girl.
SPIKE: (reeling) A witch huh, you met Willow the fierily red head she’s one powerful wiccan
RAYNE: Yeah, I felt her power when she tried to destroy the world she is one powerful witch. Maybe more powerful than me… (Smiling again) maybe not
SPIKE: (said seriously) So you came to SunnyD to help, why hide that you’re a witch?
RAYNE: Its complicated, we- I’m not supposed to mix with human. Lets say it’s against the rules
SPIKE: Whose rule, cause you don’t strike me as a girl that listens to them
RAYNE: Yeah well I’m not, why do you think that I came. I came here as a potential slayer; my witch half has nothing to do with life here.
SPIKE: (angrily) Lots of kiddies could die, because you’re not willing to use your power
RAYNE: (slightly annoyed) I know but me using my powers could be even more disastrous, if they find out that I’m here they’ll come and there take me away, and that be one less person to help you fight
SPIKE: Fine, there’s nothing I can say that will change your mind
RAYNE: Nope
SPIKE: Ok then love, I won’t tell Buffy as long as you promise me two things (she raises a eyebrow) one you fight properly when were alone and two (he gets up) you show me what you’ve got
RAYNE: (getting up too) Ok then, but I won’t go easy on you
SPIKE: You forgetting I’m a vampire and stronger than you
RAYNE: Hum, well will see I’m pretty good, and-I didn’t say I wouldn’t use a bit of magic (she mutters something)
Rayne lunges at Spike hitting him square in the jaw; she sending him flying into a tombstone, he gets up quickly and punches her back.
LATER
After an intense ‘workout Rayne’ and Spike are walking back to the house both chatting causal with each other, bruises can be seen obviously on both of them
SPIKE: Your one brilliant fighter
RAYNE: I know, but you’re not bad yourself
SPIKE: (mutters) Bloody cocky is what you are
RAYNE: (turns to face him) What was that?
SPIKE: Nothing love
RAYNE: I’m glad- I told you…feels kinda nice to share
SPIKE: Feels can of nice that you trust me
RAYNE: Trust hum (Says comically), didn’t you say you would kill me if I didn’t talk?
SPIKE: Might have mention that
A noise is heard behind them and they turn around to see Buffy, fighting a vampire
SPIKE: Need any help love
BUFFY: (surprised) No I’ve got this one (grabs the vampire and punches it in the face) I went to the cemetery to look for you, but you weren’t there
SPIKE: No
BUFFY: (Gets out a stake) Oh hi… Rayne
RAYNE: (waves) Hi Buffy
BUFFY: Er- (grabs the vampire by the shoulder and stakes him, he turns to dust and Buffy wipes the sweat of her face) So you guys were together
SPIKE: Yep, she needed an extra lesson
BUFFY: Oh
RAYNE: Yeah maybe I should go (yawns) I’m tired (Rayne starts to walk of)
SPIKE: You sure you should be going of by yourself, there’s a lot of beasties out there
RAYNE: (Smiles) I think I’ll manage and just run home
BUFFY: Yeah Spike’s right you shouldn’t got of by yourself
RAYNE: (glares evilly at Spike) No seriously I’ll be f-
BUFFY: No it’s not safe
SPIKE: She’ll be fine pet she can handle herself
BUFFY: But-
SPIKE: Run along love
RAYNE: Thanks
