Whatever it Takes
Chapter 2
Outside, at gym, the boys were playing a game of baseball with a coach who couldn’t throw if his life was depended on it.
“Hey man,” Xander said to Spike as Spike came up to bat. As quickly as he got in the box he had to duck, because the coach was throwing some really bad pitches. One of them almost hitting him in the head.
“Come on get back in the box you sissy girl.” Not wanting to look bad he stepped back in.
“What’s up Xander?” He said again ducking out of the way.
“Well I heard that Cordy wants to hook up with you later on this week. You know maybe go to the Bronze or to the Sun Cinema.” That got his attention. “Just kidding. Sorry man no news about that chick.” Before Spike could turn around to hit the ball, the coach threw one and hit his head pretty hard. “Bloody Hell!!”
“Walk it off,” was the only thing the coach had to say before both Xander and Spike left.
“Hey man I got a surprise for you,” Xander said while they were walking away pretty fast. When they were walking they didn’t notice Angel following them and knowing exactly where Spike was headed. Xander knocked on a metal door, which opened with a man saying, “$20.”
“Hey you said $10,” replied an angry Xander.
“In five seconds it will be $30.”
“Okay, okay here you go.” The man counts it and pulls Spike into the room. When Xander tries to follow, the man says, “No $20 for only one.”
“B-but,” Spike stumbles.
“Go, go, you owe me.”
“Sir, don’t take this the wrong way or anything, but I don’t know where the hell we are bloody going.”
“Okay this area should be empty, but if you get caught you don’t know me. You’ve got two minutes.” And with that the man pushed Spike into an area filled with bright lights and tiles. He took a second to regroup himself. He placed a hand on a metal box hanging on the wall, and then noticed it was a tampon disposer. He quickly removed it and started to walk around the place, checking it out.
That’s when he saw her. His one true crush, Cordy, walking around in nothing but a white, short towel. His view was quickly erased when Spike saw Joyce walking down the isle in a bathing suit. He rushed to the other side hiding behind a row of lockers. Then coming in from a side door, there were a group of girls coming in to change. Walking in where he was in plain sight. He rushed under a table where he could hide. Carefully looking up he saw Cordy in the shower. But just as his vision was getting out, he had to get out before he was seen by anyone.
When he got out, he was met up with Angel.
“Have a good time in there?” But Spike didn’t say a word; he just wanted to get as far away as he could from the girls’ locker room. When he was clear out of range, he finally slowed down. But Angel wasn’t giving up so quickly.
“Hey, what is up with Buffy Summers?”
“What about her?”
“What I just like her and she keeps giving me the cold shoulder.”
“Trust me, Peaches, I have know her all my life, Buffy Summers is not your type.”
“Well Cordy is not yours either. Look all I’m saying is that you help me with Buffy and I’ll help you with Cordy.”
“I don’t -”
“Angel, will you give me a ride home today after school?” Cordy asked from behind them.
“Yeah sure Cordy.” She walked away. “So do we have a deal?”
“Yeah you got yourself a deal mate.”
