Xander raced over to Willow, who was standing outside a broom closet. "You found Buffy?" he asked. "Yeah," she responded. She pointed to the broom closet and said, "She's in there. I think she was knocked unconscious." Xander picked up the unconscious Buffy while Willow called Oz and Cordelia. She gave them both the same message, "We found Buffy. Meet us at the library." The two of them, supporting Buffy's body, walked to the library. A little while later, Oz ran into the library, with Cordelia and Angel a minute or two behind him. "Where did you guys find her?" Angel asked. "I saw her in a broom closet. She's been knocked unconscious," Willow replied. Angel looked at the injury on Buffy's head. "This didn't happen to long ago," he told the four of them. He looked around. "Whoever or whatever did this must still be close," Oz said. Xander looked around the library and said, "You don't think they're in the library do you?" "I doubt it," Oz said. "But they're probably close by, if not in the school itself," Cordelia said. Willow took charge and addressed the group. "Okay, we need to split up. Angel should patrol around the school. He's probably the only one of us who can defend himself, and odds are the person or thing that did this to Buffy is inside the school." Xander work your way north from here. Double back when you've gone more than a few miles. Oz, same as Xander, just go south from here instead. Now, someone should take Buffy home. Either me or Cordy," she said. "Willow, you should take her," Xander said. "Besides Angel, you're the only one with any supernatural power or abilities." "I agree," said Angel and Oz nodded to show he also agreed. Cordelia looked at Willow and said, "What am I supposed to do?" Willow looked at her and said, "Cordy, you stay here and try to get in touch with Giles. We need him." Cordelia looked really scared. "Um...maybe I should walk Buffy home instead? What if the thingy that did this to her comes in here?" Willow looked around and nodded. "Okay, you take Buffy home, and I'll try to get in touch with Giles," she told Cordelia. Cordelia walked with the unconscious Buffy draped over her shoulder and headed towards Buffy's house. Angel left the library and began to patrol the school. Oz left the library next and headed south of the school a stake in his hand. Xander also took a stake, but went over to Willow before leaving. "I just gotta say Will, good job taking charge. I think you surprised us all a little," he said. "Really?" she asked. Xander put his arm around her and said, "Really." He then pulled her into a deep, passionate kiss. It took them much longer this time to break the kiss. They hugged and Xander leaned over and whispered, "I love you, Will." "I love you too, Xander," she said. They separated and he looked at her as he left and said, "I'll be back." "Just be careful, Xander," she said. "Okay, I will. I promise," he told her.
