“Tell me!”
This was getting annoying now. I just wanted him to stop asking me. I wasn’t going to tell him, and that was that! He just wouldn’t take a hint. And so, again, I told him no.
“No! I told you already, I can’t”
How many times had we had this conversation? A thousand?!
“But why?”
He always asked this. And I always told him.
“Because it would ruin our friendship, and I don’t want to lose you as a friend. You’re my best friend, and I don’t want to lose that!”
This was my favourite part. Where he told me that nothing could ever change between us. It was the best and the worst.
“I told you as well! Nothing you could say or do would make me feel any different, I told you!”
But he doesn’t know. He doesn’t know what I’m not telling him. He can’t say that it wouldn’t make him feel different. I know it would…
