It was two weeks later. Xander was still covered in cuts and bruises. On the plus side though, Cordelia did visit him in hospital and when she saw the state of him she forgave him for blowing off their date.
He did not tell her that he had been in Buffy's body though. There were some secrets he'd never share.
He was standing in front of the bathroom mirror in his house. Pulling faces. It felt strange, still, to be in his body. He had got so used to Buffy's. It was a shame he got changed back before he had a gym lesson, but there were still many months left to fulfil that particular fantasy.
He chuckled at the pervy expression he had on his face. What was he like?
He had seen Angel in the hospital, too. Xander did apologise for his repulsive behaviour, but as he explained to Angel, he couldn't help his feelings. Angel understood.
Buffy and Willow had visited him a lot as well. Buffy had been in the next ward to him, so they saw each other a lot over the week following the second rite.
He ran his fingers through his hair. A knock on the bathroom door brought his mind back to the present.
"Will you hurry up in there?" it was Buffy.
"Yeah," added Willow's voice. "The Bronze will be closed before you get out of there."
Xander opened the door. "Ok, ok, girls. I'm ready. The Xandman is now mentally and physically prepared to fight anything this town throws at me.
Willow grabbed one arm, Buffy the other and between them they dragged him out of the house. Unnoticed by any of them, Angel stood in the shadows watching them go.
