Buffy lay crying on a strangers bed after Dawn had kicked her out of her own house. "I really need you Spike," she whispered to herself.
Spike entered the house and ran into the room, hearing her last statement. "I'm here, Buffy," he said, sitting next to her.
Buffy sat up and wrapped her arms around his neck and sobbed.
"Buffy, what happened?" He asked, holding her tightly.
"Dawn kicked me out," Buffy whimpered, shaking.
He pulled back to look into her eyes. "It's gunna be okay. I'm gunna be here with you and we'll kick the First's ass together. Promise."
Buffy wrapped her arms around him and tried to pull him on to the bed with her.
"Pet?" Spike asked.
"Shut up," Buffy whispered. "Just kiss me."
Spike leaned down and kissed her softly. Soon they were kissing passionately.
"Buffy do you really want us to do this?" Spike asked.
"Yeah. I've been sure for a while. I just wasn't sure if you still loved me," she said, her eyes locked on his.
"Buffy," Spike said, getting off her. "I'm always gunna love you but I'm also gunna hated myself for what I did. Nothing is going to make that okay."
"Spike, that night, in the bathroom, wasn't your fault. None of it. It was mine. I was afraid to love against after Angel and Riley so I tried to push you away, but instead we got into a big tangle and I'm sorry," she whispered. "I just wanna forget the past."
She pushed him onto his back and straddled him. She stretched out on top of him as he ran his hands over her back.
Then the door banged opened and Angel came running in. As soon as he saw Buffy and Spike he exploded. He rushed as Spike but Buffy was faster. She met Angel in the air to keep him from Spike.
"You don't lay a hand on her!" Angel screamed, climbing to his feet.
"Yes he can! You can't just barge in here, threaten people I love, and try to..."
Spike got off the bed and helped her up. She entwined her fingers with his and turned to face Angel.
"Buffy please tell me this is a joke?" Angel asked.
"Have you been to my house? Dawn kicked me out a few hours ago and Spike came to make sure I was okay. We had out feelings laid out on the table and we made apologies foe the past. Faith's in charge at the house and when I get my strength back, Spike and I are going to beat the first. No one is going take someone I love away from me again. Including you," Buffy said, firmly.
"Ok, Buffy, I know you upset, but turning to Spike is a little over the top," Angel said, trying to reason with her.
"Listen, Peaches. Buffy is tired and upset. Shut the hell up and let her get some sleep. She as no energy to deal with this right now so back off!" Spike growled.
Buffy's fatigue finally got to her and she almost collapse to the ground. Spike picked her up and tucked her in bed. He covered her with his jacket and pulled Angel to the living room.
"Spike what in the world is going on?" Angel asked, softly.
"Giles tried to kill me so Buffy and I are a little uneasy around him. He sent me and Andrew on a mission, to find out more about our boy Caleb. Apparently while I was gone, there was a fight at the house. I came back, got in a fight with Faith, and left. Buffy was upset and all I could get out of her was Dawn kicked her out. She's exhausted and she needs to be left alone."
"You love her," Angel said.
"So? I've loved her for a long time and it took awhile for us to get here. We had our ups and many downs, but we're fixing it," Spike said.
"Does she love you?" Angel asked.
"I don't know," Spike said, softly.
Then, Buffy whimpered. Spike went into the room and Buffy was having a nightmare. He sat next to her as she began to scream Spike's name.
"Buffy, it's okay," Spike said, trying to wake her up.
Buffy's eyes flew open and she shot up. "S-Spike?" She whispered.
"You alright?" Spike asked, resting his hand on her cheek.
"I don't know," Buffy whimpered, trembling.
Spike pulled her into his arms and held her tightly.
Angel came in and said, "I'm staying at the mansion. I have info for you so when you're strong enough, come pick it up."
"Thanks Angel," Buffy said, and he left.
Spike laid next to Buffy and they fell asleep, wrapped in each others arms.
Buffy woke at Dawn and she wrote Spike a note before going to see Angel. She prayed Spike wouldn't be mad.
When Spike woke, he quickly read the note and waited for sunset before heading to Buffy's house. When he opened the door, Buffy came down the stairs. "Honey, you're home," he said, fondly.
"Yeah, I am. Feels nice," she said, a wicked grin coming to her face.
Buffy pulled Spike to the kitchen and put the scythe on the counter before they headed to the back porch. Buffy wrapped her arms around him and kissed him.
"Last night was one of the best nights of my life," she whispered against his lips.
"Mine too," Spike said, softly.
"I have to run an errand so will you run by the vineyard and see if Caleb's still there? I'm gunna find some answers about the scythe. Meet me there?" She asked.
"Count on it," Spike said. "Be careful."
"Always," she said, and gave him a long kiss.
Spike watched her go with a smile before heading to the vineyard.
Buffy talked to an old woman who gave her the answers she was looking for. Then Caleb killed the woman and the two of them began to fight. Caleb kicked Buffy, causing her to lose the scythe.
Caleb picked it up and said, "I was kinda hoping it'd go this way." He raised the scythe over his head, and was about to bring it down.
"Hey," Came a voice from behind Caleb.
Caleb turned and was greeted with a hard fist.
"Angel," Buffy said.
Angel helped her up and watched as she fought Caleb and won.
Angel smiled. "You okay?"
"Yeah, I'm fi..." Angel cut her off by kissing her.
Little did they know, Spike as off in the shadows with the first in Buffy's form. "That Bitch," she hissed.
Buffy pushed Angel away and put her hand up to her mouth. "Angel, what are you doing? You know I love Spike."
"You what?" Angel asked.
Buffy could only look at him.
"Buffy this is Spike we're talking about," Angel growled.
"He has a soul now. He has always been there for me. He promised never to leave me and he has never lied to me. He doesn't try to make me someone I'm not. He's happy with the entire package," Buffy said.
"How long have you been in love with him?" Angel asked, softly.
"Since I came back from Heaven," Buffy answered.
Spike's mouth fell open before he stormed from the tomb.
"What the hell was that?" Buffy asked, her head snapping to attention.
"Spike," Angel said.
"Shit," Buffy said, running from the tomb. "Spike!"
"Buffy," Angel said, coming out behind her.
"Angel, I have to go," Buffy said.
"Take these," Angel said, handing her a necklace and folder. "They'll help you with your war."
"Thank you Angel," Buffy said, running as fast as she could back to her house. When she opened the door she was greeted with Willow. "Hey Willow. Is Spike here?" She asked, panting.
"Yeah, he came back, pretty upset," Willow said.
"Angel gave me these, I chopped Caleb in half and it was gross. I need to go see Spike," she said, quickly heading toward the basement.
Spike was pacing around the basement, shirtless.
"Spike?" Buffy asked, as she came down the stairs.
Spike growled and continued pacing.
Buffy sighed and went over to him. She slid her arms around his neck and kissed him softly.
Spike wrapped his arms around her waist and he deepened their kiss.
"I'm sorry," Buffy whispered, against his lips.
"Nothing to be sorry about," Spike said.
"Yes, there is," Buffy said as she yawned.
"You gotta get some sleep," Spike said.
"Faith still has my room so I have to bunk with the potentials," she said heading toward the stairs.
Spike grabbed her arm. "I don't think so missy."
"Spike, please, I'm tired," Buffy said, with heavy eyelids.
Spike scooped her up and laid her on his bed. "Sleep," he said, giving her a kiss and tucking her in.
"Oh, no you don't," she said, pulling him in with her.
They snuggled into each others arms and fell asleep.
Buffy woke only to find Spike gazing at her. "Hey you."
"Sleep well?" Spike asked, stroking her arm.
"Yeah," she said, softly.
They climbed out of bed and went upstairs.
Buffy went up to her room to change before meeting Spike in the kitchen. She slid her arms around his neck and kissed him lovingly. "I love you," she whispered.
Spike smiled a little. "I love you too," he said, softly.
Buffy leaned in to kiss him again before the went into the living room and snuggling on the couch.
"Buffy?" Dawn asked as the gang into the living room.
"Hmm?" Buffy asked, looking up at her sister.
"Why are you snuggling with Spike?" Dawn asked, crossing her arm.
"Because I love him," Buffy answered. "And I don't care what anyone says."
Willow was the first to approach and gave Buffy a hug. "As long as you're happy," she said, then looked at Spike. "You and I are gunna talk later."
"Sure, Red," Spike said, with a little worried expression.
Xander walked up to the slayer. "I'm not thrilled but if he makes you happy, I'll learn to deal with it."
Buffy gave Xander a hug, while Spike and Xander shook hands.
Faith, Andrew and Anya didn't seem to have an opinion which left Dawn, Giles.
"Are you truly happy?" Dawn asked.
"Yeah," Buffy said softly.
Dawn gave Buffy a hug. "Good," she whispered.
She pulled away from Buffy and wrapped her arms around Spike's waist.
"I'm so sorry, Dawn," Spike whispered, as he pulled her close to him.
Dawn buried her face in Spike's neck. "I know," she whispered.
Buffy smiled and looked at her watcher. "Giles?"
Giles didn't say anything and he left the room.
Tears welled in Buffy's eyes and Spike and Dawn came up to her.
"He'll come around," Dawn said.
Spike sat Buffy on the couch. "You gunna be okay, Pet?" Spike asked.
Buffy swallowed her tears and looked up at him as Dawn sat on her other side. ''Yeah. I'll be okay,'' she said softly.
Spike smiled and kissed her forehead. "I gotta go talk to Red. I'll be right back," he said disappearing into the kitchen.
"Hey Spike. What happened? You look worried," she said."Rupert wasn't very supportive," Spike said, softly. "Upset Buffy a little."
"I'll talk to him later," Willow said. "Now about you and Buffy.."
"Red, I'm not gunna leave her unless she tells me to. I love her too much to put her through any more pain," Spike said, firmly.
Willow smiled. "That's what I wanted to hear. I'll go talk to Giles," she said, giving him a hug before going outside.
In the living room, Buffy and Dawn were talking.
"Buffy, I really ant him to stick around this time," Dawn said.
"I think he will," Buffy said, pushing Dawn's hair back.
"Do you think we can finally put our family back together?" Dawn asked, softly.
"We're not getting married any time soon, but yeah. I think we could be a family again. But i think you gotta talk to Spike about last spring," Buffy said, softly.
"We did so what do we do now?" Dawn asked.
"Right now, we need to defeat the First," Buffy said. "Then we can do all the good stuff."
Spike came in and Dawn hopped up to give him a hug, before going to talk to Faith about Buffy's room.
Buffy took Dawn's place in Spike's arms. "Spike, I really need Giles to be okay with this," she whispered.
"I know, Pet. I want him to be okay with this also," Spike said. "Red's gunna talk to him."
Buffy smiled. "We gotta take the potentials out tonight. They need a wake up call."
"What do I get if I agree?" Spike teased.
Buffy smiled and leaned in to give him a very passionate kiss.
"In that case.." Spike whispered, backing her toward the couch.
Buffy moved into his lap, while they kissed some more.
