Buffy The Vampire Slayer > BtVS - Season Unknown
Angelus by FlamingSoul3

Buffy crossed the street quickly, trying to stop herself from looking back at Angel. She knew she loved him, she was more sure of it than anything in her life. But she knew it would never work. Especially now that he wasn’t Angel anymore.

He was Angelus.

Later, At the Bronze
Willow sat at the small table chatting with her boyfriend Oz. Truthfully, she was trying to pass the time before Buffy got there. If Buffy gets here, Willow reminded herself. She and Buffy had had a major argument that morning. Funny thing is, I don’t remember what the fight was about, Willow thought sadly.

“Will, you alright?” Oz asked, seeing how upset she looked.

“Yeah,” She said quietly, “I’m fine. Just waiting for Buffy. She should be here by now.”

“It’s OK. She’ll be here soon.” Oz replied, “Don’t worry.”

As if on queue, Buffy walked up to them. Her eyes were red and puffy, as if she had been crying. “Hi, guys.” She said distantly.

“Buffy, what’s wrong?” Willow asked concerned.

“Angel,” Buffy said, tears running down her cheeks, “He’s….gone.”

“Oh. Oh no. Whoa…. Buffy, what happened?” Willow asked.

“I don’t know. He came up to me when I was patrolling and he wasn’t himself. Then I realized what’s happened. He’s become Angelus.” Said Buffy, who was still crying.

“Buffy,” Oz replied, “I think you should go home. I’ll drive you.”

Buffy , Oz, and Willow walked out into cold night and towards Oz’s van. They quickly crossed the parking lot, all of them secretly fearing that they would run into a demon, or worse: Angelus. As they climbed into the van they were overcome with the scent of sweaty musicians and pine air-fresheners. To Willow this was one of the most comforting smells in the world, and as she entered the van she instantly felt better.

Oz started the van with a loud roar from the engines, and began to drive Buffy home. The trip was completely silent, because everyone was too nervous to talk. They all knew what Angelus was capable of, and that scared them. Especially Buffy, who was still crying in the back seat of the car. When they finally reached Buffy’s house, Oz stopped the car and they all sat there for a few minutes before anyone moved. Buffy slowly got up and climbed out of the back of the van.

She walked down the long winding pathway to her house, watching the shadows cautiously. When Buffy finally reached the front door, she quickly glanced over her shoulder to make sure no one was following her and sighed when she saw Oz’s van still waiting by the curb. Willow’s lucky to have a guy like him, she thought. Her hand reached for the doorknob, and suddenly she heard a loud noise behind her. She jumped and turned, going into Slayer-mode, only to see a stray cat run across the street. She breathed in and out trying to calm her racing heart. She entered her house and the door closed behind her with a loud thud.
