Andrew walked swiftly out the door, the tears falling steadily off his red, puffy face. He needed to get away-far, far away. He kept his eyes set staight ahead of him, he even walked right through an intersection without giving a second look. Finally, a plan formed in his head. He knew where he would flee to: LA. It was perfect. Angel would take him in. Well, hopefully anyway.
*I don't care. I just need to be anywhere but here.* he thought bitterly.
His poor heart was slowly and painfully breaking in two. Why did Dawn reject him? What did she want that he didn't have? Sure, he wasn't buff, or handsome...or anything, really. He was just plain old Andrew.
Andrew hopped down a cement stairwell leading down to the subway. The only light down there was produced by an eerie looking red light. Trams to his right and to his left whipped by in jet black flashes. One after another, they kept coming and going. Coming and going. Occasionally stopping to let a group of people on.
*Probably people just like me-Just trying to get away.*
Andrew walked up to the loading gate of the tram leaving to LA. He dug deep into his pocket and somehow managed to scape together enough change to buy a one-way ticket.
According to the ticket, the tram would be arriving in a few minutes. Andrew took this time to actually look at himself and what he was doing.
*No wonder Dawn doesn't wanna be with me. I'm just Andrew-the wimpy chicken boy.* He sighed.
*No* he thought resolutely.*I'm going to do this. I'm not going to run back home and beg Dawn to let us start again. I'm SO going to do this.*
The tram slowly pulled up to the loading station. The doors hissed open and the other passengers began to board it.
*Well.* he thought sadly.*This is it. Good-bye, Dawn. I will always love you.* He prepared to step onto the tram. He could almost hear her sweet voice calling his name. Wait a second...
"Andrew, wait!"
