Part Six
Faith slowly sat on the floor and hugged her knees to her chest. Lindsey got off the couch and moved to Faith to try and comfort her. Rupert and Jenny came running down the stairs and when Rupert reached Buffy she shoved the letter at him. While he read the note Buffy shooed Lindsey out of the way and pulled Faith onto the couch with her. Everyone watched in silence as Rupert gave the letter to Jenny and went over the photos. Cordy, Dru, and Will watched Buffy and Faith carefully to see if they might need help of the female kind while Xander, Spike, Oz, Angel, and Lindsey watched Rupert to see if they could figure out what was going on.
“We’re leaving now!!!!!!” ordered Rupert.
The group looked on in shock at the quiet man who had never once yelled in the seven months that they’ve known him.
“No we are not,” responded Jenny.
Faith looked at Buffy, who was now slightly sweating and shaking her head.
Angel leaned closer to Buffy, “What are you saying baby? I can’t hear you.”
Buffy shook her head and when Angel placed his hand on her shoulder, Buffy ran to the opposite corner of the room and started crying.
Buffy began to talk to some invisible person that only she saw, “No fire, fire bad, burns, kills. Please help, help us. Get out of my head! Get out! Get out! Get out!”
Everyone watched in horror as she slowly began crying and begging for help. Angel stood up off the couch and slowly walked over to Buffy. He slowly knelt down in front of her and grabbed her chin when she tried to force away from him.
“Buffy? Sweetie what’s wrong? Talk to me!”
Jenny shook her head as she also sat down, “She’s regressed again. She won’t come out easy. It took the therapists three years to pull her out the first time.”
Cordy looked at Jenny in suspicion, “Regressed? Regressed into what? What the hell is going on?”
Jenny looked at Rupert, who was watching Buffy in fear and sorrow. He shook his head no to Cordy’s request.
“I’m sorry sweetie but we can’t tell you.”
Willow stood up out of the recliner and faced Rupert and Jenny, “Those are two of my best friends and they’re suffering. Dru can’t stop crying because of something she feels. Angel and Lindsey are scared because Buffy and Faith are in pain and the rest of us are scared too and you won’t tell us what’s going on! I hate getting mad and I hate being scared so would you just tell us what is going on!!!”
Faith pushed herself off the couch, “After I get B back we’ll tell you whatever you wanna know Will.”
“FAITH!” scolded Rupert.
She whirled around to face her father, “No! After almost five years of lying I’m done. You don’t lie to people you love and trust.”
Wiping the tears off her face Faith slightly pushed Angel out of the way, “You’ll wanna move now.”
Faith roughly grabbed Buffy to her as Buffy began to fight back.
“Buffy! Stop fighting me! Stop it!!” Buffy went limp in Faith’s arms still whimpering about fire, “Shhh, listen to me please. I love you B. You can’t leave me here.”
Faith held Buffy’s face in her hands and stared at her, “Elizabeth I know you can hear me. You’re safe with me. He’s not here remember, it’s only us. I need you to come back to me please. How am I supposed to Faith if there’s no Buffy? Remember, you said that there’s not one without the other. Please come back to me and I swear I’ll make it better. The fire is not here and there’s no one to hurt you anymore, I promise.”
“Faith?” the littlest whimper came out of Buffy.
Faith rubbed Buffy’s hair, “I’m here sis. I’m right here.”
Buffy started crying and held on to Faith, “I don’t want to go away again. Please don’t let me go away again.”
Faith helped Buffy over to the couch. They both sat down and Lindsey handed them each a tissue.
Everyone sat down where there was room, Angel and Lindsey back on the couch; Willow and Oz in the recliner; Cordy, Xander, Dru, and Spike still on the floor; Rupert and Jenny leaning against the wall.
Faith looked at Buffy, “Hturt eht meht llet ot ydaer uoy?”
Buffy nodded and looked at Willow, “Ask away Will.”
