Cordelia pulled into her driveway, pulling up as close to the house as possible. After she hit the garage door she put the car in park. She looked out the windows around the car and didn’t see anything, but she still searched through her bag for her cross and the water pistol full of holy water that Xander had given her. She hated that gun because she was always afraid her friends were going to find out she had it, and she had no idea how to explain that one away. She had the gun in her left hand and the cross and her keys in her right hand. She looked around again then tried to get out. She had to put down the gun to open the door first though. She got out and reached back into the car for the gun and to lock the door. She stood back up, shut the door and turned around.
"Long time no see," Angelus said as he stepped out from behind a bush in front of her house.
"Angel," she tried to scream but the sound barely came out.
"I’ve been looking for you for a while. Now that Buffy and I are no longer a thing, I was wondering if you might be interested. Or after last night, would Xander have gotten there before me for a change," he said and slowly walked towards her with a grin on his face.
"You were at Xander’s last night?" she said, more scared than before, and she also suddenly felt extremely vulnerable. She forgot she was holding the cross and water.
"I always like window seats. Such a lovely view," he winked.
Cordelia immediately put her arms up across her chest. She felt violated. She felt something hit her left arm as she did that. He was just a few feet away when she came back to her senses and held out the cross in front of him.
"What happened to the girl who kept throwing herself on me?" he asked.
"That was then, this is now. It makes me sick to think I found you attractive," she said.
"What do you think now?" Angelus asked as he slipped into his game face.
"I think you should die," she said and raised the gun.
"You’re a bit late, I’m already dead. Now it’s your turn," Angelus said and was about to lunge towards her.
A growl and some movement caught their attention. The werewolf stood at the back of Cordelia’s car.
"I warned him," Angelus shook his head as he said that.
"Oh, go fight your own demon," Cordelia yelled out at the werewolf.
She turned around just in time as Angelus was almost on top of her. Once again she raised the cross and gun and pulled the trigger. Angelus stepped to the side, avoiding most of the stream of holy water, but being stung by a few drops of spray. He went to knock the cross out of her hand when the werewolf knocked the both of them to the ground.

For once, being rich, for Sunnydale, hurt Cordelia instead of helping her. She screamed, but no one heard her. Her parents weren’t home, and her house was secluded enough from her neighbors that they either didn’t hear it, or dismissed the scream. She had dropped everything when she got knocked to the ground. She couldn’t see the cross, but the gun was right next to her. She grabbed that and tried to get back to her feet, but was knocked back the other way by the werewolf.

Angelus threw the werewolf off of him and it crashed into Cordelia, knocking her to the ground again. Angelus had to decide what to do with the werewolf. Since he was dead, it was certainly not interested in him. He didn’t want to go through all this trouble just to have her get killed by someone else. The werewolf got up and spun around to attack Cordelia, but before it reached her again, he kicked it in the ribs, knocking it over. He went to kick it again when he felt a sting on his hand and arm. She shot him with the holy water again.

Once she fired at Angel, she turned the gun at the werewolf and shot it too. It howled in pain. She shot it again in the face this time. It howled louder and took a few steps back. That was when she remembered that it must be the vampire that bit Oz. She took one more shot at it, and it ran away in pain.

Angel charged Cordelia as she took her last shot at the werewolf and heard it run away. She turned towards him but it was too late. He grabbed her and lifted her up in a bear hug. He leaned in to bite her neck.
"Buffy told me what she did to you in the mall," Cordelia said.
"Oh yeah," he paused for a second. She couldn’t knee him from the position he was holding her in.

"How does this feel?" she said and unloaded the water pistol into his crotch, soaking his jeans.
She fell to the ground as he dropped her. She watched him run off half limping and screaming.
"Now that’s gonna leave a mark," she said then burst out crying. She just realized that she almost died. Everything hit her at once just how close she came to death. But even though she was crying and her body didn’t want to move, she searched frantically for her keys. She found them and got in her house a fast as she could.
