"Spike, I love you!" Dawn said really fast, throwing herself in the unsuspecting vampire's arms.
"Wait-"
"No, sh. Listen. Spike, I am fifteen and I am more than that. I love you and it dosen't matter how old *I* am or how old *you* are. You can't stop love and you can't just live with it, you have to do something. Let them know. You're the one who taught me that, so I'm telling you now. I love you Spike. I love you like the the flower loves the rain, all right?"
"Hey, don't use stupid song anolgies when you tell me you love me, niblet. And I..." Spike found his throat closed over. He couldn't say what had been drilling in his brain for hours, days.
"And you what?" Dawn slapped him on the arm playfully.
"And I... And I... I'm hungry. Want to go down and get some ice cream, luv?"
"All right." Dawn tried to swallow her hurt for later. He didn't say it. Did he even feel it then?
"Dawn... Dawn, I..." Spike said, stopping, causing her to run into him. "Goddamn! I'm trying to say it, Dawn, I really am! DAWN I BLOODY LOVE YOU!!!"
Xander and Anya walked out of the Magic Box just in time to hear Spike's yell.
"I told you the man was a slave to the-" Anya started.
"Honey, we better go help Dawn," Xander interupted. He grabbed Anya by the wrist, dragging her as he yelled at the pair on the opposite end ot the street," HEY! SPIKE, WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING?!?!?"
