Katrina looked around the club the Bronze. Her new body looked smashing on her and she felt good in it too Thank god the spirit of the girl whose body she had inhabited had finally gave up and moved on too wherever spirits, good or bad, go when they die. She was starting to give Katrina a migraine. The girl, Jenna Palsky, was very pretty and was popular and had a boyfriend. It would be so fun to just collapse and then watch Eric go nuts she thought. Or watch Callie freak. The fun part about inhabiting peoples bodies is listening to the spirits beg for their life. Another plus was that once you got into their bodies you knew their memories. She watched as the Bronzers danced and partied. Then as Eric came to her and put his arms around his waist she realized that she wanted to have fun. In her time of stealing people’s bodies she learned that grief and watching people mourn was fun. Unless she learned it was you who was doing the grieving. She smiled at Eric when Callie Morison came and pulled her onto the dance floor.
“C’mon” she said, “The bands great”
“Ok” she said smiling and acting just as Jenna would.
Eric went in front of them and said, “I’m going to go get drinks”
“Sure” Callie said
As Katrina moved through the maze of tables she looked at Callie. This girl was tall and had brown hair with red highlights. She was very beautiful. Especially tonight with a red halter top and black bell-bottoms. Katrina decided that she would be the next body she went into.
She then stopped short and Callie turned around.
“You okay” she asked
“Just a little dizzy” she told the girl
“Do you want me to drive you home?”
“No” she answered “but thanks”
“No prob” Callie answered and they were once again walking through the maze of tables.
Just the Eric joined them balancing three cups. “Thanks” Callie told him when he handed her the cup.
“Yep” he answered but his eyes were on Katrina “Are you okay?” he asked
“Yes” she said, “I’m fine” she gave him a reassuring smile.
Time to make my move Katrina thought and a wave of excitement went through her. She walked behind Eric and Callie and then stopped and put her hand on the table and swayed slightly.
“Jen” Eric asked when he noticed this.
Katrina tried so hard not to smile as she looked at him and then fell. She then felt herself hit the ground. “Omigod” Callie said as she knelt beside her.
“Jenna” Eric shouted as he felt her pulse but it was too late Katrina left Jenna’s body and went into Callies.
Callie was crying when Katrina went into her body. She smiled softly feeling very relaxed in this body. Callie was to busy worrying over Jenna that she didn’t notice the invader in her body. It took until the ambulance came and pronounced Jenna dead that the girl realized that Katrina was sharing her body.
The girl nearly screamed. “What are you doing?” she said
“Who are you?” she asked when she didn’t respond
Katrina smiled she loved using this approach. “Your going to die” she thought knowing that since she shared a mind with this girl that she could think whatever she was going to say rather than speak it.
“What?” the girl said
Katrina could feel the rise of panic in Callie’s voice.
“I am your guide,” she said trying to seem gentle.
“Let go so I can guide you”
“Just like that” the girl sobbed
“I was the one who helped Jenna, if you go now you can see her”
“Jenna” she whispered
“Yes” Katrina said knowing this girl was buying it
“How?” Callie thought
“Relax and let go,” she said quietly
“Ok” the girl let out a half sob half laugh
“I love you guys,” she said finally and then the girl was gone.
“Just like that” Katrina said smiling to herself
She then knew she was not going to live this girl’s life. She was going to be a vampire. All she had to do was get her sired.
