Chapter 9
‘DAWN!!!’ Buffy yelled running to the door.
‘Hi...’ Willow said.
‘Oh my God, Will! What are you doing here? Not that you can’t be here, but I’m just so suprised! Come in!’
‘Um,’ Giles cleared his throat.
‘Oh, Giles! I’m sorry. I didn’t see you!’ Dawn said, moving to the side to let Giles and Willow in.
‘What’s up!’ Buffy asked, walking to the lounge.
‘Well, we have a problem!’ Willow said.
‘What kind of problem?’ Buffy asked.
‘Well... Hold on. Why is Xander sleeping on the sofa?’
‘He was knocked out by the Morkata!’ Buffy said.
‘Morkata? Is that what that thing is?’ Faith said.
‘Oh God, Faith!’ Willow said, ‘Hi!’
‘Hey, Will! I fought that thing. It was pretty tough!’
‘You fought it?’ Giles asked.
‘Yeah!’
‘Did either of you get stabbed by spines on the demons legs?’ Willow asked.
‘No.’
‘I did!’ Angel said.
‘Whoa Angel! Ok, is anyone else here I need to know about?!’ Willow asked.
‘Hey! Faith, you left me out in the car.’ Robin said.
‘Who are you?’ Angel asked.
‘Robin Wood, former principal of Sunnydale High.’
‘Anyway, Angel, you got stabbed? How deep?’ Giles said.
‘Pretty deep! I mean look!’ Angel lifted up his trousers.
‘Oh crap!’ Dawn said.
‘Dawn, it’s worse than you think,’ Willow said.
‘No, he’s...’ Dawn said
‘Poisoned!’ Willow and Dawn said together.
‘You knew!’ They said in unison.
‘Hold on! My boy... Angel is poisoned!’ Buffy said.
‘Yeah, Buffy, he is!’ Willow said.
‘What? I don’t feel poisoned.’
‘Angel that’s the thing... You don’t know your being killed.’ Dawn said.
‘KILLED?’ Buffy yelled.
‘Dawn, are you sure?’ Faith asked.
‘She’s right!’ Willow said.
‘Is there a cure?’ Faith asked.
‘I don’t know.’ Willow replied
‘I can’t handle this!’ Buffy walked out of the room.
‘Buffy!’ Angel walked after her.
The phone rang. Dawn picked it up.
‘Hello....This is her...What...Kevin....Ok....Thanks.’ Dawn started crying.
‘Dawnie, what’s wrong?’ Willow asked.
‘It’s Kevin... He’s dead!’ Dawn said between sobs.
‘Dead? How?’ Willow asked.
‘The police say he had punctures in his legs. They were wrapped up, so he must have known.’ Dawn wailed.
‘Kevin? Who the hells Kevin.’ Faith asked.
‘He was my boyfriend!’ Dawn ran upstairs.
‘Is anyone gonna stay in this room?’ Faith asked. ‘I’m gonna finish my sandwich. Coming honey?’ Faith said to Robin.
‘Did she just call him “honey“?’ Giles asked.

‘Buffy. Hold on,’ Angel said, following Buffy outside.
‘Angel... You’re gonna die.’
‘I’m not.’ Angel said, walking up to Buffy.
‘You heard what Willow said. She doesn't know if there’s a cure.’ Buffy was looking into Angel’s eyes
‘Buffy, she said she didn’t know. There might be one.’ Angel looked straight back.
‘Angel...I don’t wanna lose you...not again...not after everything.’ Buffy was crying.
‘Buffy, you’re not going to.’ Angel leaned in. Buffy and Angel embraced in a long passionate kiss. Buffy pulled back.
‘Angel, we can’t!’
‘Buffy we can...If I’m gonna die we might as well.’ They kissed again.
‘Buffy...’ Willow said coming out the door. When she saw them kissing, she decided to leave them be.
