Part Four
Panic ran through Buffy’s mind as she heard Cordelia’s limp body hit the floor. Angel and Willow came to her at once. She struggled once more in a last desperate attempt to get free and like magic the locks popped open. Buffy squirmed from their grasp ran off towards the door. She made it out only to be confronted my many a vamps in the hall. She struggled to keep from going hysterical. It was one of the hardest things she could imagine possible.
*Ohh... God Help me! * She thought to herself. She looked up for a way out and saw a broken skylight above her; she jumped for it just as the vampires moved in on her. *I don’t know where this streak of luck has come from* she thought *but I hope it last*.
Buffy took off towards the school. She new all her friends were dead but heading that was instinctive. When the school was in sight, she picked up the pace from a fast walk to a jog. She walked into the school and down the long hall to the Library. , where she had spent so much times with her friends. Friends that were gone. Forever. As she opened the door, a sob escaped her. She had been through too much. But it wasn’t over. They knew where she would go. They would be here and second.
Buffy heard a sound from behind her. She spun around to see and semi-circle of older men. The Watcher’s Council. She dropped her guard as the middle one spoke.
“Buffy. You are by far the greatest Slayer known to mankind. You have been through, and survived, more perils than any Slayer was ever expected to. And we want you to know that you will become the best known slayer of all. But,” Buffy looked up at the sound of the word; “You are finished. You are too emotionally unstable as a result of tonight’s tragedy. Your days as a Slayer are over.”
Buffy had heard enough. She fell to her knees and said nothing, an emotionless mask over her once vibrant face. “So that’s it? You’re just going to kill me now? How? Do you think it’ll...,” she couldn’t go on.
“No Buffy,” the Watcher said, us.”
At that moment the doors swung open. Willow and Angel walked in, eyes wild and smiles so evil that Buffy’s skin crawled. Buffy stood up to fight but she knew the odds were against her. She turned to the Watcher’s Council and screamed for help, but they did nothing. They merle disappeared.
All Buffy could do was turn around and utter a groan before she was jumped by Angel, Willow, and an army of vampires. As the Watchers’ Council watch from a distance...
