"Why don’t we go to watch the fireworks at night anymore, Spike?" Dru asked.
"Because there are no fireworks at night, Dru. Not ‘til July," Spike said, annoyed by her patter. Sometimes he felt he could really do without her, if it weren’t for her gift. He always wondered what it would be like to have her visions, but he was quite comfortable with his sanity. But he knew there was more to their relationship than that. She needed him, and he needed her.
"I can show you fireworks," Angelus said as he walked up behind her and put his arms around her. "Just like I used to. Spike, you’ve got to learn how to treat a lady," Angelus grinned.
"I remember, Angel," she purred.
"Well, rocket man, you went another night without killing anyone important. As soon as I’m better, I’m going to kill them all for you," Spike said, barely hiding his resentment of Angelus’ power over Dru.
"No chance. Even if I haven’t killed them by then, you don’t stand a chance against her. Funny how all I’ve ever gotten was a few bumps and bruises, and you’re in a wheelchair. Add it all up, and we would have one less vampire, if you were to face her," Angelus said.
"If you don’t get serious about her soon, there will be quite a few more gone. And maybe not all by her hand," Spike said.
"Is that a threat, Spike? You aren’t exactly in any position to threaten me," Angelus said, no longer grinning.
"No threat, just ‘adding it up’ as you said," Spike said, this time he was the one grinning. "If you keep playing things this way, you will hurt her more, but it won’t make it any easier to kill her. Slaying vampires is her job. With you, it’s personal, and that is much more dangerous for you."
"I’ll see you eat those words," Angelus growled.
"Happily," Spike replied, staring right back at Angelus from his chair.

"Hey Giles, how’s Oz?" Xander asked as he entered the library.
"He’s coming along as best as can be expected," Giles replied. "Hello, everyone," he said to Buffy and Cordelia as well.
"And that is?" Buffy asked.
"Breathing, stable, but still unconscious," Giles clarified.
"Willow will be here in a minute, I passed her in the hall," Cordelia said. "She had to get something from her classroom."
"I’m glad I don’t have her class. I can’t imagine saying, ‘Yes, Miss Rosenberg.’ It just feels weird. I feel like I’m talking to her mom," Xander said.
"How is she doing at that?" Buffy asked.
"Quite well, actually. Most of the faculty are greatly impressed by her. She is a fine teacher," Giles said with a proud smile.
"Can you say Watcher candidate?" Cordelia said.
"Well generally that is passed down from parent to child," Giles pointed out.
"Of which you have none," Buffy also pointed out. "You don’t, right?"
"No, I don’t," he said.
"Just checking," Buffy smirked.
"Well we’ve talked about that, and she wasn’t really interested," Xander said.
"Oh, I’d guess not," Giles said, a little saddened looking.
"I wasn’t interested in what," Willow asked as she walked towards the table.
"Watching," Cordelia said.
"Watching what?" Willow said, still confused.
"Being a watcher," Xander added. "You said you didn’t want to do it."
"Oh, OK, right," she replied.
"Well, I guess it is time to get him home. Will, you know where Oz goes during the full moon?" Buffy asked.
"He locks himself up in his basement," Willow said.
"OK, then if everyone is ready, we should lock him up," Buffy said.
"Lead the way, Giles," Xander said, and they all walked out of the library together.
