No. It wasn't true. It can't be. Xander was dead. Killed. Murdered. Stabbed. Died in her arms. He had been thrown into the bonfire. He was gone.

But her heart told her otherwise.

She walked silently over to Xander, her friends following her. Each was as shocked as she was.

"Xander?" Buffy asked in disbelief.

"Sorry I'm late." Xander said with a grin.

"Who are you?" Angel asked next to her, obviously protective of her.

"What are you talking about?" Xander asked, clearly confused.

"We saw you die. Stabbed and thrown into the bonfire." Willow replied behind her.

Xander cocked his head to the side. It was as if he was listening to something far away.

"Falen." Xander said. "He must have changed one of the vampires here. Made him look like me."

"What are you talking about?" Cordelia asked.

"Long story." Xander responded. "Go ahead. Ask me anything."

After a long pause, Buffy looked up at Xander. The man her heart screamed was Xander, and said, "There was an incident. Involving a certain bug..."

Xander shuddered from the memory and said, "Ms. French. Big virgin thing. Verrrrrry embarrassing. Preying Mantis. Very creepy."

Buffy smiled. Her heart leaping for joy. She looked at her friends, each of them was obviously thinking the same thing. It was him. He's alive. Alive!

"Awwwwwwww, isn't this touching?"

The group turned and saw Falen staring at him.

"Reunions are so beautiful." Falen said in a mocking tone.

Buffy watched Falen hold out his hand, and form a ball of flame. It was writhing with energy. At that moment, Buffy gave a very audible gulp.

* * *
Xander pushed himself in front of his friends. He would not let them get hurt.

"Xander?" Buffy asked behind him with concern in her voice.

"Trust me. Stay behind me." Xander replied.

*Nicholas?"

*I'm ready.*

*Let's do this.*

Falen let forth the ball of fire. It headed towards them in an incredible speed. With Xander in the direct path. Xander felt the blistering heat get closer. When it was about a foot away, Xander snapped his hand out and caught it.

Around him he heard gasps of surprise. From his friends and the vampires. Xander used his newfound powers to dissipate the ball of fire into a puff of smoke.

"Well, this is new." Giles said behind him.

Falen's hands thrusted out, shooting hundreds of balls of energy. At that exact moment, Xander did the same, intercepting each one of Falen's deadly spheres.

"Get some shelter!" Xander screamed.

He shot off one large ball of energy and ran after his friends, who had ducked behind a large boulder. He jumped behind the boulder and landed next to Angel.

"Care to explain?" Cordelia asked.

"Okay, quickly put." Xander said. "I merged with a good vampire who is a descendent of Falen. His name is Nicholas. We both basically hate Falen and want to stop him. Nicholas is powerful in white magic. Our bodies are merged and we are one. Better?"

"Oh." Buffy said. "I guess that explains that."

The rock behind them shattered as a bolt of energy blew it into a dozen pieces. Xander jumped up and leaped over the boulder. He shot out a bolt of energy that connected with Falen's body. Falen's minions were standing still near the bonfire, not moving, advancing, attacking, nothing. Just standing there. Xander ran and slammed his body into Falen's. He caused his hand to be surrounded with a ball of energy. He then swung his energized fist into Falen's jaw and sent him reeling away. Falen jumped up and morphed from his male to female form. Falen jumped at Xander, connecting her foot sharply with his jaw. He reeled back, falling to the ground. Xander tasted blood in his mouth, but ignored it. He swung his leg out, catching Falen's legs, dropping her like a rock. He jumped on her and stretched his fist back.

"You wouldn't hit a lady?" Falen asked in a soft voice.

Xander brought his fist down on her face without any hesitation.

"You're no lady." He replied. He jumped back and looked at his friends, all of them grinning. He turned to Falen who was staggering up. Xander shot out a bolt of energy and watched with satisfaction as Falen's body was ripped by the power of white magic. Falen cried out in pain and glared at Xander.

"I'll kill you."

Xander grinned and said, "You don't scare me."

Falen stretched her arms out, and softly chanted. Around her the wind picked up and heated the cave faster than ever.. He skin stretched and contorted. Her lovely ivory skin dried out and cracked. Suddenly her body exploded in a wave of fire, throwing everyone back. From the smoke and flames Xander heard a shout.

"Dark ones, come to me!"

Xander blinked away the tears from the smoke and saw each of the vampires glow. Suddenly from each vampire, a ball of blue energy ripped out. The vampires shuddered for a second and exploded into a shower of dust. Xander whirled around and looked for Angel and Willow. Please let them be okay, Xander prayed silently. She saw Angel and Willow through the smoke, staring back at him. He felt a tug within him, where Nicholas' demon was wrestling to get out. Xander surpressed it and looked towards where Falen stood. Her skin was crackling with energy. It split in someplaces, oozing a dark red blood out. She crouched down for a second the roared as she stood up. Her body grew. Her skin shredded apart and fell to the ground.

Falen now stood over 8 feet tall, a few feet below the cavern top. Her body was massive and muscular. He skin had changed from a pale pink to a deep red. Her eyes had changed from brown to a pale yellow. Two points on her skull stretched till two curved horns ripped out. Tattered pieces of Falen's clothing hung on Falen's body. The only item that was still intact was Falen's trenchcoat, which now hugged snugly to her... it's body. Falen roared loudly.

"Um. Okay. Now I'm scared." Xander muttered.

*Xander?*

*Um, Nicholas. Help!*

*Okay, first info. The form that Falen is in now is the same form Gregan used. He must of used the demon's of his clan to change to that form.*

*Okay, so the body of an emissary of the devil has come back. And we have to stop it."

*Um, yeah.*

*Oh, this is nice. I like this.*

Xander jumped up and shot his hand out. From his hand came a ball of concentrated white energy that streamed out of his body and slammed into Falen. Falen roared in pain, staggering back against the cave wall.

*Xander, tell your friends to get out of here.*

*How?*

*See that tunnel? It goes down a way, then your friends have to take a right. They'll come up to two steel doors. They lead to the forest.*

Xander whirled around and screamed, "Get out! Take that tunnel. It'll split. Take the right tunnel that goes to two steel doors. Go!"

His friends ran towards the tunnel, except for Buffy who screamed over the roaring, "What about you?"

Xander smiled and yelled back, "Don't worry. Go! I'll catch up later."

Buffy hesitated, then ran out, following her friends. Xander whirled around to Falen, who shot her hand out. A stream of dark green energy streamed out, connecting with Xander's shoulder. Xander went flying into the wall. His shoulder felt so cold. The feeling spread throughout his body, paralyzing him.

*N-N-Nicholas?*

*Yeah?*

*Y-You think you can help?*

*I'm trying... Done.*

Xander staggered up, but was grabbed by Falen. Falen picked him up over his head, and threw him towards the bonfire. Xander flew through the air, sure that he was going to die, when suddenly something happened.

"Stop."

Xander stopped in mid-air and landed on the ground. It took him a second to realize that it was he that had said stop. He didn't know where it had come from, but it did. Xander spun around and rammed his body into Falen. Falen was only slightly jarred, but Xander wouldn't let up. He used the energy as an extension of his own body, and punched Falen into the wall. Falen shot out it's hand, shooting a beam of energy at Xander. Xander twirled around and jumped out of the way.

"I will destroy you!" Falen screamed in rage. "If it weren't for you, the slayer would be dead. She would be feeding the way for the dark lord. The one almighty!"

"Oh, shut the hell up." Xander yelled back.

Xander shot a bolt of energy at Falen, causing it to stagger back. Falen shook it's head and ran towards him at an incredible speed. It's body slammed into Xander, causing him to fly into the wall with an audible crack.

A rib, Xander thought. Probably broke one. A sharp fiery pain writhed through his body as he tried to stand up. He didn't get the chance. Falen backhanded him, causing him to reel away. He landed in the dirt, tasting blood in his mouth.

Nicholas?

Yeah?

Help...

* * *

Buffy ran down the tunnel after her friends. She wanted to be with Xander, but he was right. Falen is more powerful than she is. The only hope they have right now is running and leaving Xander behind. They ran down the tunnel like a bat outta hell. They then came upon two steel doors. The ones Xander had told them about. They pushed them open and walked into the forest. The wind whipped around them, causing their bodies to shiver. They all looked up and saw huge dark clouds forming over the cave.

"This does not look good." Cordelia muttered next to her.

They watched as the sky crackled with energy and prayed silently for the friend they left behind.

* * *
Nicholas needed help. He now existed in on a plane of incredible insight. He knew so much now. But right now her was concerned for someone else. Xander. He's in trouble. He needed help. Xander was still weak from the blows he had taken earlier. He needed a chance to breath. But how? Nicholas could only think of one way.

* * *
*Buffy.*

Buffy straightened at the sound of her name. She looked around and saw her friends still entranced by the sight before them. The clouds were forming above the cave, churning with energy. They had not even heard someone say her name. Or could they even heard the voice?

"Great, I'm going loopy." Buffy muttered.

*Buffy. Do not be afraid. I am speaking with you telepathically. I am a friend of Xander's.*

*Xander?*

*Yeah. We merged our bodies to stop Falen. But we need help. Falen's hurting him...*

Suddenly the voice faded out and was replaced with another.

*Buffy?*

"Xander?" Buffy whispered.

Buffy felt the rage build within her. She couldn't lose him now. Not after everything they went through. She ran towards the cave, ignoring the shouts of her friends. Then suddenly she felt something knock her to the ground. Willow.

"Buffy, you can't." Willow said as she pinned her to the ground.

"I have to. I heard him. He's calling for me. Please, let me help him." Buffy pleaded.

Willow looked at her silently and then stood up. She pulled Buffy from the ground and said, "If we go. We go together."

Buffy hesitated, then nodded.

Buffy turned towards her other friends and yelled over the wind, "Stay here!"

Buffy spun around and ran towards the steel doors, with Willow by her side.

* * *
Xander vision was blurring. He could bearly move as Falen pummeled him.

"This was supposed to be a day of rejoice!" Falen roared. "I was supposed to use the slayer's power to open the gate. But you had to go and ruin it!"

"Well, good guys can be annoying that way."

Falen and Xander both turned to the source of the voice. Buffy. Falen smiled and dropped Xander to the ground. It advanced towards the slayer, licking it's lips with it's forked tongue.

"Well, it looks like I'll get a second chance after all." Falen said happily.

"Not likely."

Falen turned around only to be punched by Willow. Falen staggered back. It was still weak from the fight with Xander. It roared and grabbed Willow's arm and swung her into the wall of the cave. Willow fell to the ground, but quickly recovered and attacked Falen again. As they fought, Xander watched Buffy make her way to him.

"I thought I told you to leave." Xander said as got up.

"Well, you know me. I don't want my friends to be killed. I'm stubborn that way." Buffy said with a smile.

Suddenly a figure flew past them, landing on the dirt ground a yard away.

"Willow!" They both screamed in unison.

They ran to their friend. She was hurt, but still alive. Buffy swung around and ran towards Falen.

"Buffy, no!" Xander screamed after her.

*This is exactly what Falen wants.*

*Nicholas, I know this.*

Buffy kicked Falen in the face, then swung around and kicked again. She punched it again, then pivoted up, snapping her leg in a full arc that collided with Falen's face. It went spinning away. Buffy advanced to deliver another attack, but didn't get the chance. Falen grabbed her leg and squeezed it, causing a few audible snaps. Buffy cried out in agony and fell to the ground. Falen brought a devestating blow to her head. A blow that would have killed an ordinary person. It raised it's massive arms to deliver a killing blow onto the unconscious slayer.

*Xander, we have to do this now!*

Xander screamed loudly, catching Falen's attention. The energy around Xander crackled with sheer intensity. If Xander Harris could have seen himself, he would have been amazed and scared. He would have seen his normal brown eyes turn white and shine with power. He would have seen white energy dance across his body. He would have seen his body of flesh and blood turn into a form of pure energy.

Xander saw the fear in Falen's eyes. A part of him felt sorry for it. But his heart told him that this was absolutely necessary. Falen started to bring his arms down to Buffy's body, but didn't get the chance to finish. It was then that Xander nailed him. The energy poured out of his body in a huge river of energy. He saw Falen's body convulse as the energy ripped into it's body. Falen's body lifted off the ground.

"Too... Late..." Falen gasped out.

Xander let forth a last burst of energy that caused Falen to shudder. It's form morphed into the female form, then the male, then the demonic form. It's face was shifting so fast that it was a blur to Xander now. Then Falen exploded in a burst of raw energy.

Xander gasped as he fell to the ground. He looked at his hands and saw that they were flesh again. He got up and ran to Buffy, who was barely conscious. He felt a hand on his shoulder and whirled around defensively. It was Willow. She was clutching her side as she knelt next to him.

"How is she?" Willow asked.

"We need to get her out of here." Xander answered as he brushed Buffy's hair from her face.

*Xander?*

*Yeah?*

*It's not over...*

*Wha?*

Suddenly behind them a rush of flame flared. Xander whirled around and saw the flames part. And for a moment, there was darkness, then Xander saw it. Hell. The flames there rode high. He heard the screams of the damned and felt pity for them. And from the fires and brimstone, he saw a lone figure walk towards the gate from a distance. The figure was all black. His body looked like one huge shadow. Something that couldn't possibly exist in this flame ridden world, but existed nonetheless. It was the devil.

"Oh god." Xander murmured

*Falen took some of Buffy's energy to do this.*

*How do we stop this Nicholas?*

*Xander there is one hope.*

*What?*

*Go. Now with your friends. I'll stay behind to stop him.*

*No. I will not leave you here to die.*

*Xander, I died a long time ago. You know that. You know everything about me. We have lived each other's life. You know everything about me, as I know about you. I never had a real family. I was abandoned as a child, but you gave me what I never had. I'm asking you as my friend, my savior, my brother, leave. Please.*

Xander felt a huge pain within him and felt as if his soul was being ripped in half. He clenched his eyes shut and quickly opened them to see Nicholas standing next to him. The two looked at each other solemnly.

"Can you control the demon?" Xander asked sadly.

"Yeah. I feel it writhing within me, but I will do this." Nicholas answered.

"I'll never forget you." Xander whispered.

"I'll never forget you either." Nicholas replied. "But you know this. You know the answer. Close your eyes and feel it."

Nicholas smiled and turned towards the gate, he held his hands out and whispered softly. It took him a while to realize what he was saying.

"Our father, who art in heaven, hallow be thy name..."

Xander turned around and ran to Willow and Buffy. He motioned for Willow to go ahead while he would catch up. Willow nodded, still clutched her side, but got up and ran towards the tunnel. Xander scooped Buffy up in his arms and ran after her. He paused and looked at Nicholas one last time. A white energy flowed from his body into the gate. The cave filled with goodness and peace. Xander spun around and ran faster than he ever ran before.

* * *
Giles watched the doors intently. Where were they? He saw the doors open and watched a figure stagger out. The doors closed behind the figure as he or she ran towards them. It was Willow. She was clutching her side, obviously in great pain. Angel ran to her and picked her up. He carried her to them, where he laid her down on the damp grass.

Suddenly from the sky a bolt of lightning struck the top of the cave, causing a huge explosion that lit up the entire area in light.

Giles staggered back, as did the rest of his friends, and whispered in a tone that no one heard, "And from the heavens he struck down on the darkness, shining a light that blew away the shadows of night."

* * *
Nicholas felt the energy sear out of him. He was being drained quickly.

"God help me..." He whispered.

Then around him the walls of the cave lit up, filling him with energy. He felt the joy, the peace, the love, and let it all out.

* * *
Xander ran so hard his legs were pumping. He slammed his body against the door, opening it. He spotted his friends and ran towards them, still cradling Buffy in his arms. He felt her stir slightly, but gave more thought to getting them away from the cave. They all smiled at him as he stopped in front of them. He put Buffy on the ground carefully, laying her head on his lap. She smiled up at him gratefully.

*Xander?*

*Nicholas? How?*

*Tell her.*

*What?*

*And thank you.*

Suddenly a large flash of light enveloped the cave. Xander and the rest watched amazed at the wondrous sight of beauty. Then an explosion of pure good blew it all apart. Xander threw his upperbody over Buffy, protecting her from the rainfall of stone chips. When the shower of dirt and stone stopped, he looked up. Where the cave had stood, there was now a crater. Xander and Buffy stood up and saw a small trail of smoke rise from the crater.

"I'm sorry about your friend." Buffy said next to him, still weak from Falen draining her.

"Me too. But he's free now. At the last moment, before the explosion, he gave up everything he had to close the gate. And then, a flash of light." Xander responded softly. "He's there now. In heaven. At peace."

He turned toward the friends that had thought they lost him. The ones who nearly died for him.

"Let's go home." He whispered.

Without any argument, the friends walked off. Ready to face the next day.

* * *
You love him. Tell him." Willow said.

"God this was so simple two weeks ago! I was the slayer, he was my best friend." Buffy exclaimed. "But two weeks ago, when we were facing the threat of Falen and I realized my feelings for him everything turned upside down."

"Why are you so afraid?" Cordelia asked.

"Because he doesn't love me." Buffy replied softly.

"Sure he does. I realize that Xander and I can't have anything, but he could be with you." Willow responded.

Buffy slammed her coffee mug on the table. Giles and Angel sat with them, all of them wondering how Xander felt. After Falen's destruction, the closing of the gate, and Nicholas' sacrifice, they had all been tired, weary, and in the need of sleep. The next two weeks had been spent relaxing, talking, catching up, and in peace. Except for Xander and Buffy. Buffy refused to tell him how she felt about him.

"Do you know that for sure? He might only love me as a friend." Buffy said angrily. "God, I can't even think straight drinking this sludge that's mistaken for coffee here."

"Sorry." Angel responded. "But this was all they had in town."

"Oh, what I wouldn't give for some Tasters Choice!" Buffy sighed.

"Oh that slop isn't that good." Giles responded. "Who in their right mind would like that disgusting beverage?"

From around the table everyone raised their hands, leaving only Giles who continued to mumble about the delight on English Coffee.

"Oh, what am I gonna do? What am I gonna do?" Buffy wailed.

"Tell him. If you love him, tell him that." Willow answered.

"I don't love Xander!" Buffy yelled.

The table sat in silence, surprised by Buffy's outburst.

"I... I love him so much." Buffy whispered.

* * *
Tell her. Tell her what? Tell who? Xander sat at the top of the stairs and brooded. Cordelia? Buffy? Willow? Who? Nicholas had told him to tell her. Tell who about what? How am I going to answer this?

"But you know this. You know the answer. Close your eyes and feel it."

That was what Nicholas had told him two weeks ago in the cave. Ever since that battle Xander wondered who Nicholas told him to tell. And ever time he tried to think who it could possibly be, those words came to him. This has more meaning then the battle, Xander thought. This was a message.

Xander closed his eyes and relaxed. He was parts of his life, parts of Nicholas' life, and dug deeper. He found himself in a tunnel. It was dark and dank. Water was pouring down from somewhere but this does not matter. He saw a figure at the end of the tunnel walking towards him. He strained to see who it was, but couldn't make out her features. He felt a light tapping on his shoulder and turned around. It was Nicholas.

*Nicholas, how?*

*Hello Xander.*

*I miss you man.*

*Don't worry. I'm at peace now. I'm happy. Right now, I'm here about you and your destiny.*

*My destiny?*

*Xander I know you. I was you. And I know how you felt about her. Tell her.*

*Who?*

*You know who. The one person you dreamed about since you were a boy. You knew her before you met her. You love her. Trust in that. But you know this. You know the answer. Close your eyes and feel it.*

Nicholas faded away, leaving Xander in the wet tunnel. He heard the click of a heel behind him and whirled around. The figure who he saw earlier was emerging into the light. Buffy.

Xander gasped as his eyes shot open.

"Buffy..." He whispered.

* * *
Buffy walked into the garden sadly. He doesn't love me. I just know it. I rejected him. Two years ago. He stood there in the quad. They sat there facing each other, and he offered her his heart. And what did she do? She rejected it. Now two years later, she is so deeply in love with him, and he probably wouldn't care.

She walked into the flower garden absentmindedly. She smelled the deep aroma of the roses. She heard the rumbling of an oncoming storm. God, this was perfect. I can't even enjoy a day in the garden, Buffy thought.

"Buffy?"

Buffy whirled around, expecting Willow, Cordelia, Angel, or even Giles. She didn't expect him. Xander. God he was handsome. His hair was cut short. His jawline was firm and muscular. His eyes. Those brown pools of kindness. She could smell the cologne on his body. Polo Sport. God she loved that cologne.

"Xander." She whispered softly.

"I... I need to talk to you." He stammered out.

"Why?" She muttered bitterly.

She didn't mean to, but she just didn't want to hear his voice. It hurt too much. She couldn't have him. She couldn't kiss those lips. Nothing. He didn't love her.

"Buffy, what's wrong?" Xander asked, obviously concerned.

"Oh please, like you care." She murmured softly.

"Of course I care." Xander replied as he grasped her hand.

She threw his hand off of her in a sudden fit of anger. She was tired of this. He didn't need to pretend that he cared. And it was about time he knew that.

"Please! Just say it and go!" Buffy screamed angrily.

"Say what? I don't understand!" Xander yelled back.

"Tell me you don't love me!" She shouted.

The thunder rumbled overhead, emphasizing her words. Xander stood there in shock. She couldn't blame him. He realizes the deception is over and he can go on without pretending to care.

* * *
Xander felt his heart pounding. Oh my god.

"I know you don't care so go away!" Buffy screamed, pushing him back.

She turned around and ran off. It took him a second to collect himself an his thoughts, but he ran after her. His legs ran faster then they ever ran before. I have to tell her, he thought. She was right ahead of him, but she had the stamina and energy to run longer, he didn't. One choice. Xander leapt into the air and caught her in the waist, tackling her. He felt drops of rain fall on him as the rolled to a stop. Buffy got up to walk away again, but Xander wouldn't let her. He ran forward and grabbed her by the shoulder, turning her around.

"What makes you think I don't care?" Xander screamed over the thunder.

"Stop lying!" Buffy yelled as the rain fell on their heads. "I know!"

"Know what?" Xander shouted.

"I know that you don't love me." She whispered.

The rain was falling heavily now. Xander's clothes were clinging to his body, but he didn't care. All he cared about was her.

*Tell her.*

Nicholas' voice echoed in his head. Why was he so scared? He had to do it. This is his last chance.

"I'm going to tell you something, so promise me you'll listen!" Xander yelled with sheer conviction.

Buffy stared at him, but nodded silently.

"After Jesse died, a part of me died." Xander said. "When Willow was taken from us, I felt I couldn't live on. A part of me did something that I never realized till a short while ago. It made me lonely. I was afraid. I was afraid that if I ever got close to someone ever again, I'd lose them. I didn't want to deal with that pain. I vowed never to be close to anyone again. But I couldn't. I had you. You are my best friend. I could never close you out. A part of me wanted to. I was always afraid of losing you. But with all the demons, the vampires, the darkness... Somewhere in the middle of all of this I fell in love with you. And that scared me more than anything else. I refused to love you, then later lose you. So I closed those feelings off. I wouldn't ever get that close to anyone, ever. I was afraid that you'd one day die, and I knew that the rest of me would die with you. But after everything that happened to us, I finally opened the gates within me. I let those feelings out, because my love was too great to be contained. I need you. I... I love you."

* * *
Buffy stood there, awestruck. She looked to the ground and felt a drop of rainwater slide down her back. She was feeling so much right now.

"You don't love me." Buffy whispered softly. "You don't want to hurt me."

"I love you." Xander replied with a burning intensity. "I love the way you pout when you don't get your way. I love the way you smile when you're happy. I love the way you tuck your hair behind your ear when it blocks your vision. I love the way your voice gets higher when you are excited. I dreamt about you before I even met you. I love you."

"I wish I could believe you." Buffy sighed softly.

Xander looked at her intently. He took his hand and brushed one of the many wet locks of her hair from her face. His hand moved down and rested on her cheek. She felt the smoothness of his palm. He took his other hand and smoothed some of her hairs back, and then moved it down and held her face in his hands. He leaned forward and opened him mouth.

"Trust me." Xander whispered.

He moved in closer and made contact with her lips. She was shocked at first, only at first, then leaned into it as well. She felt the stubble on his face rub against her fair skin, but really didn't care. The kiss was so gentle and loving, like nothing she's ever felt before. His hands ran through her wet hair, coming to rest onto her neck. She wrapped her arms around his neck and felt his arms fall and wrap around her waist. She felt the cool rain fall on them, but didn't care. Right now, time was frozen for her. This kiss spoke volumes. The tender passion became a message to each other. Each felt the deep and powerful love that they had for each other. They felt the fears and hopes. The joys and sorrows.

Xander lifted Buffy from the ground and swept her into a huge hug. They each felt the other's happiness. Buffy broke off the kiss and looked deeply into Xander's eyes.

"I love you."

Xander smiled and lowered her to the ground, never breaking eye contact.

"I love you too. I just wish I told you earlier." He replied.

"Me too. But there is only one thing you can do about that now." She responded.

"What's that?" Xander asked with a grin.

"Hold me." Buffy answered, still smiling.

Xander's grin broadened and he pulled her close to him and wrapped his arms around her. Neither cared that they were standing in the rain. The only thing that they cared abut then was each other.

* * *
Willow, Angel, Cordelia, and Giles watched Buffy and Xander from the castle. They all knew that they were spying but none of them could help it.

"Do you guys still love them?" Cordelia asked.

Willow and Angel looked up and smiled.

"I'll always love Xander." Willow said. "He was my first crush."

"And I'll always love Buffy." Angel said. "She brought me closer to my humanity than even before I became a vampire."

The two looked at each other, knowing what the other's thought was.

"But the love they have for each other is stronger than what we had." Willow continued. "We're happy for them. They were meant to be together. It's destiny. Fate. Chained through time with their faith."

They looked outside at the two embracing figures.

"With strong faith, comes strong love." Giles whispered.

* * *
Xander slowly let Buffy loose from the hug and planted a soft kiss on her forehead. He looked down on that angelic face and smiled happily.

"I love you." He whispered

"I know." Buffy whispered back while smiling happily.

Xander's grin widened and the two walked towards the castle, and the future. Together.
