Xander banged his fist into the door again. The sound of his fist slamming into the iron door caused the anger in him to rise. He was tempted to punch the door again, but his common sense told him otherwise. He'd just damage his hand doing it. He had to concentrate on something else. It's futile to try and break this door down. Even if he did, a couple dozen vampires would be on his ass in a minute.
Xander walked to one of the walls and leaned against it. He breathed in calmly, and let it out. It was one of Giles' relaxation techniques. It didn't really work, but Xander couldn't think of anything else to do.
"Glad to see that you stopped that constant pounding."
Xander stopped the excercise and looked up at the door. The vampire, or whatever he was, Nicholas, was there, staring in though the opening at the door.
"Like you care?" Xander retorted.
Nicholas opened his mouth to say something, but stopped. Instead he did something Xander did not expect. He opened the door. Nicholas stepped through and stood in front of Xander. In a flash, the slayerette was on his feet in a defensive stance. He saw a small smirk on Nicholas' face.
"I'm not like other vampires." Nicholas said softly.
"Not quite human either." Xander replied with an equally hushed tone.
"I'm not one of them." Nicholas responded with a wince.
"If you're not, let me go." Xander said.
"I... I can't." Nicholas replied.
"Then I guess we have nothing more to say, huh?" Xander asked softly.
Nicholas sighed and responded, "I guess we don't."
With a slight nod Xander nodded. Xander moved into an Akido stance. Nicholas' face morphed into his vampiric visage. With a yell, Nicholas launched a deadly punch towards Xander's face. Xander ducked and grabbed his arm. Using Nicholas' momentum, Xander flipped the vampire. Xander then directed a sharp kick into the vampire's face. Xander swung his fist down towards Nicholas' back, but was stopped abruptly when Nicholas' clawed hand gripped his fist.
Nicholas swung his leg and swept Xander's feet from under him. Xander crashed onto the ground. He felt a fist slam into his chest. Xander wheezed out a breath, but pushed his body to recover. He let his mind loose and pushed his mind back to Sunnydale, to the library, to his training session. He often fought with Buffy to hone his skills as well as hers. He moved his body to follow the same instincts.
He slammed his palm up, connecting solidly to Nicholas' face. The blow sent the vampire reeling back. Xander swung his body up and landed on his feet. He swung his fist and connected to Nicholas' chest. He spinned his body around and pivoted his foot up, slamming into Nicholas' neck. He was about to wail on him, but didn't get the chance. Nicholas quickly recovered from the attack and delivered a vicious uppercut. If Xander hadn't seen it coming and rolled with the punch, he'd have probably lost his head.
The two fell to the ground. Xander rubbed his aching jaw, trying to determine if it was broken or not. Nicholas was next to him, trying to stop the room from spinning.
"You're... You're... good." Nicholas managed to get out.
Xander looked up at Nicholas, who was quite blurry to him at the moment, and grinned.
"Thanks. You're right." Xander responded.
Nicholas looked at him curiously while rubbing his neck.
"What the hell are you talking about?" Nicholas asked.
"You're not like other vampires. Mind telling me why?" Xander responded.
Nicholas looked at Xander solemnly, as if he was considering whether or not to tell him anything. He looked at his clawed hands, which quickly reverted back to the human form. As if he found his answer there, Nicholas looked at Xander.
And began his tale.
* * *
Buffy walked into the hall of the castle. Well not really walked as much as she stalked in. She was dressed in her dark fatigues. Which pretty much meant a black T-shirt, and black jeans. She pulled her hair back into a ponytail and looked up. She walked over to a wall and grabbed a sword that was mounted there. It was half the length of her arm, but looked as deadly as hell.
She sheathed the sword and attached it to her belt. She looked up as Giles and Cordelia walked in. Both were similarly dressed. Cordelia was wearing a black sweater and blue jeans. Giles was wearing a dark blue turtleneck and black slacks. Both were armed with a bag of holy goodies. Crosses, Holy water, etc. Giles placed her crossbow silently in front of her. Neither of them spoke any words as their eyes locked. The only thing they shared was one thought.
We will save Xander.
Buffy looked up as Angel and Willow entered the hall. She paused slightly as they watched each other. Where the hell did it all go wrong, Buffy asked herself. She looked at Giles and Cordelia who both knew that she needed some time. As they left Buffy caught Cordelia smile and nod at her.
Buffy looked back at Angel and Willow. Angel was wearing a black T-shirt with a jacket, along with a pair of jeans. Willow was dressed like Buffy. She wore A Black T-shirt and jeans. The three solemnly looked each other over. They all knew the unbelievable amount of tension within them. Between them. Buffy, Xander, Giles, and Cordelia had only arrived a day ago, and everything exploded into a deadly situation.
One that can cost Xander his life.
Buffy knew that if they went into the cave that Falen and his horde stayed in without resolving their issues, then they are no good to Xander. As well as themselves.
"I'm sorry." Angel said softly.
Buffy looked at Angel and smiled. She could hardly believe what she had done less than an hour ago. She had been ready to snuff Angel out of existence. And when Willow tried to intervene, Buffy had taken her anger out on her too.
"Me too." Willow said next to him.
Buffy smiled sadly at Willow. She was her best friend. Even after all these years. Willow saw that Buffy loved Xander. Willow knew. Buffy had not known about this. She didn't realize the feelings she held for Xander. At least, not until he was taken. She realized then that she loved him. Wholeheartedly. She even managed to pinpoint the exact moment she fell in love with him. It was a year ago.
* * *
Xander handed her the package with the shyness of a third grader. Buffy looked at the package with a smile. His birthday present to her was wrapped in a shiny blue paper and was decorated with a thick red ribbon.
"Happy Birthday Buffy." Xander said with a grin.
Buffy took the package with a mischievous grin. It was huge. The box was two feet in height and one foot in length. And was it heavy.
"Oh, boy. Another present for me!" Buffy sang to herself.
She undid the ribbon and carefully undid the tape on the edges, so she would not rip the paper.
Xander gave her an exasperated look and said, "Oh, you're one of those!"
He quickly grabbed one end of the box and ripped off the paper in a childish fashion. Buffy took the hint and undid the rest in the same way.
"You suck Alexander LaVelle Harris." She said with a smile.
Xander winced in mock pain at the sound of his full name. He clutched is chest in mock agony and fell to the floor of her living room. Her mother had gone out to work and wouldn't be able to return till late that night. So she gave Buffy her official permission to hang at the house, as long as nothing was broken, everything was cleaned by the time she got home, and there was no police involved.
"Oh, you slay me, o cruel one!" Xander shouted as he landed on her floor. "Me! Who comes bearing gifts!"
Buffy laughed and responded, "Fine. Okay. No saying Alexander. Or LaVelle."
Xander gave another moan at the sound of his middle name.
"Okay. Okay. Fine. Xander, you win." Buffy said with a touch of amusement.
Xander grinned and hopped up to the couch. He smiled broadly and said, "Just how I like it. Okay, no more name jokes. Open the gift. Open the gift!"
Buffy sighed and opened the box. Inside was a beautiful red skirt. It was a short red skirt that resembled on of Buffy's favorite skirts. The only difference was that one had straps and this one had sleeves. Buffy looked at Xander in shock.
Xander shrugged in his boyish fashion and said, "For the past month, I heard you complain over how your mom was throwing you a party tomorrow and wasn't going to let you buy anything to wear. That was because I convinced her to let me buy it for you."
Buffy smiled and hugged Xander. She pulled the dress out and surveyed it.
"Oh, Xander. Thank you so much." She said as she laid the dress down onto her lap. She looked at her friend and said, "I never knew you had such good taste."
Xander smiled and responded, "Hello, Buffy? This is me. Xander. I have no good taste at all in the clothing area. I had to drag Cordelia with me to the mall a week before her flight to Hawaii. I had to hold like twelve packages for her while she shopped for you and her."
Buffy gave Xander a wry smile and replied, "Okay, first of all, I think your clothes are so cool. You don't even realize how cool they are. Second, I wish Cordelia was here. I know it's selfish of me to wish she was here for my birthday instead of her family reunion, but nonetheless. Third and most importantly, thanks."
"You're welcome." Xander said. "I figured I'd go all out. It's not everyday that my best bud turns 18. But, that is part two of my gift. That's for tomorrow. If you look in the box, you'll see part one of my gift. Something we can do today."
Buffy placed the dress to her side and pull the box closer. She moved aside the tissue paper until she came upon the rest of Xander's gift. One of the items was a bag of unpopped popcorn. The other was a movie.
Sleepless in Seattle.
Her favorite.
The spent the rest of the day popping popcorn and watching the movie. Buffy laid her head on Xander's chest at one point in the movie. She snuggled up to him and smelled his cologne. Polo Sport. She watched Meg Ryan and Rosie O' Donnell exchange some witty lines. But her mind wasn't there at the moment. she was instead concentrating on how she felt.
She wouldn't realize until a year later that she had fallen in love with Xander at that moment.
* * *
Buffy looked up at Angel and Willow and said, "I'm sorry. You have every right to hate me."
Angel and Willow exchanged surprised glances and replied in unison, "Hate you?"
Buffy took a deep breath and side softly, "Because you're both right. I do love him."
Buffy saw Angel tense suddenly. Next to him, Willow inhaled a quick breath.
"I honestly didn't know until just recently and I am so sorry." Buffy continued.
She walked up to Angel and looked at him.
"I was just a young kid when I met you. Sure, my experienced caused me to grow faster. But it didn't cause me to mature faster. I thought it did." Buffy said. "I didn't know how I felt. At first I hated you. Then I liked you. Then I loved you. I thought I knew what I wanted. I didn't. I part of me will always love you, but I can't stay a kid forever."
Angel looked down at his feet, as if avoiding her gaze. Which in fact he was, that is until he realized that he needed to talk as well.
"I died in 1756. I lost a lot. My family. My soul. I became a thing of evil. And my good side was a small voice that was in a storm of hatred and darkness." Angel paused, then continued. "I killed a lot of people. And during all that time, my good side died a little. When my soul was restored, I was relieved and in anguish. I was dedicated to repent, to stop the others. But I also felt the guilt of what I had done. And in all that time, I missed love. When I met you, I felt like I found an equal. Someone who I could love. Who could love me. But that couldn't happen. It can't happen. I realize that now I was being selfish. A part of me loves you. But you deserve more than I can ever give you."
They stood in silence. Buffy looked at Willow, who in turn was avoiding her gaze.
"Willow." Buffy said. "You are one of my bestest friends. You've been in love with Xander for so long. You know him as well as you know yourself. I know you are angry that I fell in love with him, but I couldn't help it. I wish I could change the way I feel, but I just..."
* * *
"Can't." Willow finished for her. "I understand. Believe me, I do. I've had a crush on Xander for six years. I've always assumed it was love. But maybe I was wrong. I assumed my feelings would change him. I assumed his feelings for you was just a phase for him. Maybe I was wrong. I love Xander, he doesn't love me. And you are right. I knew Xander. Knew. He's darker now. More closed off. I used to read his emotions so easily, now I can barely scratch the surface. You know him that way now. I love Xander. I do. I will always love him. But, I can't obsess about something I can't have. At least with you, he can be happy."
"Can he?" Buffy asked aloud.
"What do you mean?" Angel asked.
"Does he love me? He cared for me at some point, but now he's different. Changed. Does he love me?" Buffy asked.
Willow opened her moth to reply, but quickly closed it. None of them knew the answer to Buffy's question.
At that moment a window near them shattered. Buffy whipped around, ready to fight vampires, but ducked quickly. An arrow flew overhead and embedded itself into the wall above her. Attached to the arrow was a note.
"Dear friends,
Your little friend is enjoying my hospitality greatly. We're even considering having his for dinner. Say, 1-ish? Make sure you're there. Wouldn't want to miss a great meal like that.
Falen"
Buffy passed the note onto Angel, who quickly passed it on to Giles and Cordelia who ran into the room.
"What does it say? What does it mean?" Cordelia asked.
Buffy stood up and loaded her crossbow. She looked at Cordelia and said, "They're gonna kill him at 1 A.M tomorrow morning. I'm not going to let that happen"
Buffy walked off out of the hall, out of the castle, and into the woods. Preparing for battle, she went to the caves.
To save her friend.
To save the man she loves.

Nicholas sat on the dirt ground and looked back at Xander. Hard to believe they were only fighting minutes ago. He sighed sadly and began his tale.
"Almost twenty centuries ago, the world was in a terrible state of peril. It happened just after the crucifixion. With the death of Christ, the world plummeted. In the three days after his death, before his resurrection, was the darkest time our world has seen. Or shall ever see. Something not mentioned in the bible was the fact, that with the death of Christ, the demons and the darkness came out. It enveloped the world in a plague of locusts within hours of Jesus' death. Most of the smart people hid indoors and barricaded their homes. The unlucky ones were killed."
"Without Jesus there, the world was pretty much ripe pickings for the Darkness. At the same time, a incredibly powerful servant of the dark one, the devil, came. This demon spawn was named Gregen. The devil sent Gregen as an emissary of darkness. His goal was to encompass the earth in his dark grip. To set the path for the devil to come and destroy. Gregen commanded a group of demons through the streets of Jerusalem in the second day. Hundreds were slaughtered or turned to the darkness. Our world was on the brink of destruction. One step from being, literally, hell on earth."
"That's when the Mages came. At that time, there was a group of great Mages. Many of whom were servants to Jesus. Not as disciples, but as watchers of the darkness. Gregen was in the largest temple in Jerusalem. He was opening a gate for Beelzebub to step through. The Mages attacked then. The Mages attacked with an incredible fury. Each had powers to deal with the devil's emissary. But individually, none of them had the power to stop him. Gregen was too close to opening the gate. He was basically feeding off the evil from hell."
"In a last ditch effort, two of the Mages combined their power. In the concept of light and dark, there are two ways to overcome the dark. One way is to shine a light. The other is to bring the darkness into the light. That's what those Mages did. They combined their power, their souls, their bodies, and their wills. With that combined force, they attacked Gregen. They pulled his evil and darkness into themselves. With him gone, the gate closed. But not without a cost. When the gate closed, a psychic explosion occurred. It destroyed a small part of Jerusalem. Few survived it. One of those few, was Falen. Falen was the combined power of the two Mages and Gegen. Gegen was destroyed, but the evil remained. An immense evil. The two Mages, a man and a woman, were incredibly empowered with psychic energy. They lost the power of good that they had and instead embraced evil. Became evil. Soon after that, their form became vampiric."
"But the story of these particular Mages is an incredibly sad one. These two, were in love. They had been married and had a daughter. Falen, the combined power of those three souls, forgot completely about the Mages' daughter, Mirim. The next day was the day of joy. That was the day Jesus returned. Jesus shined the world in an incredible amount of good. So incredible, that it drove the newly formed Falen into a state of deep slumber. A slumber that ended nine hundred years ago. When Falen woke, they used their forms to lure those who were attracted to them. The used their forms to feed. Their boy shifted from male to female as easily as a person changed clothes."
Xander sat there, completely shocked by what Nicholas was telling him.
"But, how... How does this relate to you?" He stammered out.
Nicholas smiled sadly and continued, "Five years ago, shortly after my 21st birthday, I encountered Falen. It was before I turned into... this. We encountered each other by chance, or some sick form of fate, but either way, we met. I had been walking down the street in a small town outside of England. Falen appeared out of nowhere. It sensed something about me and fed on me. Turned me. What I didn't know at the time, was that I am one of Falen's, or at least one of the two Mages', descendants. Falen is my ancestor. He... She... They sensed the mystical power in me and saw that it would be useful. Falen made me into one of his mindless horde."
"What changed?" Xander asked.
Nicholas looked down at the ground and replied, "I did. A year or so ago, I challenged Falen. Falen had tried to teach me how to use my power, and I'd never be able to use it. But I was obnoxious and stupid. I thought I could take them. Falen and I fought. I lost. Big time. Falen punished me, horribly. They gave me my conscience back, my soul back. I felt the guilt of what I did to people. It was torture. I wanted to leave so badly, but Falen wasn't done with me yet. Falen put me under a spell that makes me obey their wishes. I can't fight him... hurt him... betray them. He controls me. He and I have a link. He can feel whenever I betray him. I can feel him watching me. Whenever I try to betray him, to try and commit suicide, to do ANYTHING, his spell places my body in a paralyzing fear. I can't move. That's why I can't help you."
Nicholas stood up faster than Xander could see and was out the door in a second.
"I'm sorry Alexander Harris." Nicholas said sadly. "But I can't help you."
With that, Nicholas closed the door, leaving Xander in there alone. With his thoughts.
* * *
Buffy and Willow stalked towards the cave where Falen and his horde lived. According to Angel and Willow, this was where Falen moved to after they lost the castle to Willow and Angel. According to them, there was a huge fight between Willow, Angel, and Falen. Falen would now let his horde get involved. It was as if it was a big joke to him, Willow had said. Falen fought hard, but left suddenly. But every so often, he and his horde would attack.
Like it was a big game.
Buffy moved towards a large shrub a couple yards from the cave entrance. Angel, Giles, and Cordelia were coming from another way. It was decided that they would have a better chance if they came from two sides.
"Buffy?" Willow whispered in the darkness.
"Yeah?" Buffy whispered back.
"You said you weren't sure if Xander loved you." Willow said.
Buffy looked down at the ground sadly. She had no clue how Xander felt about her now.
"Yeah." Buffy said softly.
"He loved you at one time. He still might." Willow replied.
"That was two years ago. He's changed." Buffy said sadly. "Willow, you've known him longest. Even with the time gap. Do you think he loves me?"
At once Buffy regretted it. Here she was asking her friend, the same one that loved Xander, if he loved her. Buffy didn't know that Willow was seriously thinking about it. She didn't know that Willow was tempted to say no. Willow herself battled the urge. But quickly overcame it. She gave the most honest answer she could give.
"I don't know. You are right. He has changed." Willow said with a sigh. "At a time, I could read his emotions, his feelings easily. But now, I can't. Buffy... I'm sorry."
Buffy looked at Willow and smiled reassuringly.
"It's okay." Buffy said. "He might. He might not. But now we can't worry about it. He's in there. And if we're ever going to find out, we have to go get him."
Willow smiled in agreement and asked, "Ready?"
Buffy nodded and ran alongside Willow towards the cave entrance.
Neither of them saw the dozen vampires hiding above the entrance.
Ready to attack.
* * *
Twelve members of the horde jumped down onto Buffy and Willow. They caught them completely by surprise. They weren't even able to say one word before a vampire was on them. Buffy slammed her fist upward, sending an above the usual ugly average vampire into the stone wall of the inside of the cave. She swung her crossbow to eye level and shot a arrow at the vamp. As the arrow embedded itself into the vampire's chest, she turned around, not bothering to watch it turn to dust.
She watched as Willow delivered a vicious uppercut to a vampire, sending it into two other vampires. Willow then swung around, pivoting her leg upwards, connecting solidly with the female vampire's jaw. Willow then pulled a stake from her belt and brought it down onto the vampire's chest.
Buffy took a step towards Willow, but didn't get any further. It was at that moment when a blast of energy slammed into her back, sending agonizing pain throughout her body. As she fell to the ground, she saw another bolt of energy rip into Willow, causing her to collapse onto the ground. Buffy tried to get up and move towards her, but could barely move her head upwards.
She watched, battling unconsciousness, as a pair of boots walked in front of her. She could barely move her eyes upwards, but did so anyway. It was Falen. Falen gave her a nasty grin and knelt down in front of her. He brought his face forwards, as a lover would to give her a kiss, but instead brought his mouth to her ear.
"I thought you would have been more of a fight." He whispered in her ear.
He then brought his fist down onto her face, bringing darkness with it.
* * *
When Buffy woke up her head was pounding heavily. She slowly got bearings on her situation. In front of her was a huge bonfire coming from a deeply dug pit. She tried to move her arms, but to no avail. She was literally, chained to a post. She managed to look to her sides and saw that she wasn't the only one. Giles, Willow, Cordelia, and Angel were each chained to a huge thick post. None of them could move anything, but their heads. And from the looks of it, she was the last to awaken.
"Don't try to escape." A voice said to their side. "Those posts are solid oak and go meters into the ground."
Falen. They watched in anger as Falen walked out from the shadows. He smiled happily at the group. This infuriated Buffy. This guy was a thundering loony. He was nuts.
"Don't you ever stop smiling?" Giles asked next to her. Apparently, she wasn't the only one who was pissed of at the guy's attitude.
Falen walked up to Giles, an inch away from his face.
"You don't want to see me angry. Things tend to get broken." Falen whispered with a grin.
"Like what?" Cordelia asked angrily.
"Oh, arms. Legs. Necks." He replied with a wistful sigh.
Falen moved away from the group and stood in front of the bonfire.
"Now onto business..." Falen said.
Falen turned around. The whole group stared at his full black eyes. He closed his eyes and trembled for a second. They watched in amazed horror as Falen changed. They watched his hands grow slender and long. His hair grew out and changed to an auburn color that matched Willow's. He grew shorter and slimmer. His chest grew out slightly as his waist grew thinner. His cloths mystically changed to fit the new form snugly. He was changing into a she.
"Oh gross." Cordelia whispered.
Falen's eyes shot open. The eye color had changed from a dark black to a light brown. His... her long black trenchcoat still hung on her loosely.
"What the hell are you?" Giles asked in astonishment.
"Oh the watcher doesn't know. That's got to be bad." Falen said with a smile.
Buffy stared open mouthed at what Falen had just said. She knew.
"Oh, don't be so shocked." Falen said. "Everything I've done over the past two years have been for you slayer. All for you."
Before Buffy could ask what she meant, Falen nodded towards two vampires. The vampires walked off, leaving Falen to her guests. Buffy looked around and saw that this huge cavern was adorned with a variety of weapons. Swords, guns, knives. They were all there. Enough weapons to start a small war.
They heard a yell and the sound of a blow being delivered. They watched as the two vampires emerged from the tunnel, dragging a fighting Xander with them. Buffy's heart pounded at the sight of Xander. She wanted to scream out her love, but didn't. Xander had numerous cuts and bruises on his face. They threw him to the ground, where he landed with a grunt.
"You see. I figured you would be coming here in two groups. A better chance of rescuing the boy. So I figured I'd make it a little harder for you." Falen said smugly. "I knew I would win. It is my destiny. My destiny, that I should have your power slayer. I admit, that I never met a slayer before, but when I heard about you over two years ago, I realized my destiny. I knew your power was great when the news that you killed the master came to me. I needed power. And fortune and fate smiled upon me when your friends arrived. I had heard of the infamous Angelus. That's why I allowed them to stay there. That's why I didn't have them killed. Because I knew that one day you would arrive. So I waited. Patiently. Now it is a day of rejoice. With yours, and your friend's deaths, I shall bring the dark one. Mankind will see it's final day, for night shall rule and hell shall come to the world."
Falen turned, as if to contemplate what to do next, then swung around. In her hand was a wicked looking sword. Before Buffy could scream a warning, it happened. Falen plunged the sword down onto Xander's back, and watched in sick pleasure as she pushed it out of his chest.
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" Buffy screamed.
She watched in horror as Xander looked down at his chest. Falen pulled the sword out sharply, causing Xander's blood to fall onto the dirty cavern floor. Xander soon followed it. Buffy struggled against the chains to no avail. She watched as Falen indicated to the two vampires to go to them. One vampire went to Giles and placed a sharp blade to his neck. A millimeter from drawing blood. The other unlocked her chains, setting her free.
"Try anything and the watcher dies." Falen said, smiling.
Buffy felt every urge to jump Falen and rip her throat out, but didn't. For Giles' sake as well as the rest of her friend's. She rushed to Xander's body and pulled him from the dirt ground and onto her lap. The blood was gushing from his chest. He smiled weakly at her. It was a miracle he was still alive.
"Guess this is it." Xander whispered.
"No. You'll make it. You have to. You're my best friend. Watch. We'll be hanging out at the Bronze within a month." Buffy said, tears streaming down her cheeks. She heard a sob behind her. I sounded like it was Cordelia. Buffy wasn't sure. She didn't care at the moment. Right now the earth stood still as Buffy cradled Xander.
"I'll miss you." Xander said with a sad smile.
"Xander..." Buffy began, but never finished. Xander's body shook in convulsions, then stopped suddenly. His head swung to one side, his eyes closed. She frantically felt his neck for a pulse, but found none.
Buffy sobbed aloud, crying in despair. She heard Cordelia sobbing louder behind her. She heard Giles curse at Falen. She then felt a pair of hands grip her strongly and drag her back to the post. Buffy watched as Xander's body fell to the ground, causing a cloud of dust to rise. She gave no fight as they chained her tightly again. She watched as the two vampires walked towards Xander's body.
"Toss him." Falen said.
Without any hesitation, one of the vampires pulled out a bottle of fluid. He poured it on Xander's body, then threw the bottle near them. She heard the bottle shatter, but didn't realize what they were doing. They picked up his body as a child picked up a rag doll. It then registered what was in the bottle. Gasoline. She then realized what was going to happen.
She struggled against the chains, but could only watch helplessly as one vampire lifted Xander's body and threw it into the bonfire. None of them could watch as he disappeared into the flames. The flames that would consume his body.
Falen turned towards the vampires and watched them walk off silently down a tunnel. Falen then turned towards them and smiled. She turned around and walked down a different tunnel, leaving Buffy and the rest to mourn the loss of one of their own.
Leaving them to watch the smoke coming from Alexander Harris' body.
