Part Three
Buffy followed Angel to a group of people sitting under an oak tree.
“Hey everyone. This is Buffy Giles, she’s new in town. Buffy, this is everyone.”
“Great introduction Angel, could you be any more vague?” questioned Cordelia.
“The word is vaguer not more vague,” said Willow as she motioned for Buffy to sit down, “Welcome to Sunnydale.”
“Uh thanks. So, not to be rude, but does everyone have names?”
Willow giggled, “Yeah, um let’s see, I’m Willow Rosenburg or Will either one works. This is my boyfriend, Daniel Osbourne.”
“Oz is more preferred,” said Oz.
“The trendy girl of the group is Cordelia Chase,” continued Willow.
Cordelia pointed to her left, “This lug has the privilege of being my boyfriend,”
“Xander Harris at your service,” said Xander as he bit into a sandwich and some mayonnaises landed on his shirt.
“GROSS!!!!” yelled Cordy, “How did I end up with you?”
Xander just smiled and shrugged.
“The peroxide blonde is William Urban,” maintained Willow.
“I actually go by Spike,” Spike put his arm around Dru, “This beautiful one is my Drusilla Belmont.”
Buffy laughed, “Drusilla?”
“Yeah, I know. My mom heard the name once and always wanted to name her daughter that, so being her only child and daughter I got stuck,” explained Dru.
“Yeah well, you’re not her only child anymore sis. Lindsey McDonald,” Lindsey nodded to Buffy.
“Wait, if you two are brother and sister why the different last names?” asked Buffy.
“Well, Dru’s dad past away and my parents divorced. I came with my dad here and then he met Leah so a year later I got myself a sister,” explained Lindsey.
“Dave actually adopted me shortly after the wedding so it’s actually Drusilla Belmont-McDonald.”
“So, let’s see if I got this,” Buffy pointed to each person, “Willow and Oz.”
They both nodded and Willow smiled.
“Cordelia and Xander.”
“Cordy works just fine but you’re right,” nodded Cordy.
“Kay, um Spike, Dru, and Lindsey,” finished Buffy.
Dru smiled and stole some of her brother’s trail mix, “So where’d you move from and why?”
“Wow, everyone wants to know about me,” blushed Buffy.
Angel smiled, “Sunnydale doesn’t get many new people so it’s interesting when we do.”
“Well, we moved from New York City because dad got the librarian job out here and the pay was better.”
“Wow,” Willow looked at Buffy in awe, “A real NYC girl. It must’ve been wonderful; you always hear amazing things about the city.”
Buffy snorted, “Please, the asshole taxi drivers, the traffic, the pollution, the rude hotdog vendors. New York isn’t everything it’s cracked up to be.”
“Yeah but there had to be something good about it right?” asked Xander.
“Well, New York wasn’t as bad as LA,” Buffy froze as she realized what she’d said.
Cordy squealed, “You lived in LA!!!! All those shoes!! What was it like?”
“B!”
Buffy turned around as Faith came running up behind her. Faith reached down and pulled Buffy to a standing position. Quickly Faith looked over her to make sure nothing was wrong.
“Faith what’s wrong?” asked Buffy in confusion.
“You. I could hear you screaming from a mile away.”
Cordy looked around in confusion at everyone, “Leather girl, she wasn’t screaming. The only thing screaming around here is your outfit, its yelling slut.”
“HEY!!!!!!!!!” both girls turned to face Cordelia each with fire in their eyes.
“Look,” pointed Dru, “sisters”
“Sisters? What are you talking about pet?” asked Spike.
“They stand the same, move the same, and almost speak the same. I’m right aren’t I?” questioned Dru.
Faith smiled as she sat down pulling Buffy with her, “Yep, B’s my sister, Twin sister in fact.”
“Twins?!” asked Angel and Lindsey, who were both slowly becoming enamored with the girls.
Buffy scowled as Faith began to eat her apple, “I’m two minutes older.”
Oz nodded, “Twins. That explains why Faith could ‘hear’ Buffy screaming. They can tell if something is wrong with the other one.”
Cordy leaned toward the twins, “Did you really live in LA?”
Faith looked at her, “No.”
“But Buffy said…”
Faith’s eyes were now as cold as ice as she spoke, “Buffy misspoke.”
Before anyone could say anything else the bell rang. Everyone packed up their leftovers and headed inside. Faith and Buffy followed slowly.
“Are you crazy??!!!” asked Faith.
“It slipped. I didn’t tell them on purpose,” explained Buffy.
“They can’t know B. No one can ever know about LA or the real reason dad moved us here.”
A single tear fell from Buffy’s eye as she nodded and followed Faith into the classroom.
Unknown to either of them Angel and Lindsey had followed them and heard the end of the conversation. They both exchanged confused looks and headed into the room across the hall.
