"Thank you Stephanie, I had a wonderful time," Angelus said as he lay her dead body down behind the bushes at the foot of her driveway. "Now maybe I should go back and check on the little lovebirds."

Angelus turned and headed back in the direction of Xander’s house.

Upon hearing the commotion upstairs, Spike turned his chair to face the cellar steps. He was sick of being stuck in this dank basement in this "house" Angelus had found for them. Now he heard an unfamiliar male’s voice coming from upstairs.

"Are you sure this is where you want to go?" the voice asked.

"Why yes, this is my special place," a much more familiar voice replied. "Come I want to show you something."

"What?" the man asked.

"And spoil the surprise? I think you’ll be very interested." She walked him to the basement door.

"Down here?" he asked, now sounding a bit nervous.

"Oh, is my precious frightened? You don’t have to be frightened of me," she said and pushed him down the stairs onto the basement floor.

"You might want to be frightened of me though," Spike said, in game face.

"What the hell...?" the visitor started to say.

"Hell is a good word," Spike said to the 20-something man. "Nice catch, Dru."

"Anything for you, Spike," Dru said, now also in game face.

The man tried to escape but the only two ways out were blocked. Dru standing in front of the steps and Spike blocking the outside entrance. That door was padlocked from the other side anyway.

"I’m hungry Dru, can you fetch me my dinner?" Spike asked with a leer.

"It’ll be a lovely feast, Spike," she replied and nearly danced over to the victim.

He tried to make a break for it, but Dru was too quick, and she slammed him into the wall. He dropped to the ground unconscious, like a sack of potatoes. She picked him up and brought him to Spike.

"Here’s your dinner, just the way you like it," Dru said. "Bloody." After she handed Spike his dinner, she licked the blood off of her hand. "I’m sorry he’s bleeding so much, I didn’t throw it that hard."

Spike, already feeding, "I think there should be plenty in this one. You’re too good to me."

"I like taking care of you for a change," Dru said and sat down to watch her lover feed.

Xander and Cordelia were sneaking around his next door neighbors yard, trying to make sure no one saw them. Xander was pretty sure the curfew was only in effect for children 15 and younger, but he wasn’t taking any chances, especially with a stake in one hand and a rather large cross in the other. Cordelia was right behind him, holding the same things. She was trying very hard not to step into anything that might mess up her shoes.

Xander thought he heard a sound and froze. Cordelia walked right into his back.

"What’s wrong with you?" she asked, annoyed by him stopping short.

"Did you hear that?" he asked back.

"What?" she replied.

"I don’t know," was Xander’s explanation. And that was not good enough for Cordy.

They started walking along the shrub line towards the street again, and this time they both heard something. It sounded like a cross between a cough and a gargle.

"OK, can we go know?" she asked, fear crawling through her voice.

"Well, I have to see what the heck that is," Xander replied. He grabbed her hand with the hand he held his cross in. "Come on. Don’t worry. We’re ready." He tried to reassure her.

When they reached the street, they looked around, listening for that weird sound again. They waited for almost three minutes. What seemed like three very long minutes. Then they heard it again. It was coming from across the street.

"I think I can see something in that bush," Xander said, and started to cross the street, but Cordy wasn’t moving.

"I don’t know," she started to say.

"If that is Oz, and he’s hurt, we have to get moving right now. If he’s a vampire now, we still have to get moving," Xander said, pulling her again. This time she followed.

As they neared the bush, they heard that noise again. There was definitely something under the bush. They walked around the side ands saw a small pair of construction boots sticking out.

"That’s got to be him," Xander said, and got ready to pull him out.

"Wow, he has tiny feet," Cordy said.

Xander ignored that comment and slid Oz out. His neck was ripped open and covered with blood, but he was apparently still alive. "Go get you car," Xander instructed Cordy.

She just stood there in shock, staring at Oz’s neck. Imagining that could have been her or Xander. she thought to herself.

"Go!" he repeated, more firmly.

She snapped back to the world and ran to get her car. She didn’t even think about the car’s upholstery until they were putting him in the back. "I hope this doesn’t stain the seats."

"Nice priorities," he said.

"What if he becomes a vampire? He’s been bitten." She said as she was about to get in the car herself.

"Oh, I think this should take care of that," he said and put both of their crosses on top of Oz’s chest. "We’ve got to call Buffy and get to the hospital"

"We can call from the theater," she said.

They drove up the street to the theater. Oz lying in the back, every once in a while making that weird gurgle-cough noise. Once they got there, Xander jumped out and beeped Buffy.
