Buffy sat alone in her house, tired and bored out of her mind.

< I wonder what Willows doing >, she thought with a sigh

She picked up the phone and dialed Willow's number. After a few rings Buffy heard Willow's quiet mousy voice answer.

"Hello?"

"Hey Will, whats up?", she asked, trying to sound cheerful.

"Buffy! I was just going to call you! Cordelia, Xander, and I agreed to take you to the Bronze tonight".

"That sounds great", Buffy said, hoping that things would begin to look up.

"Yeah, well we kind of figured you could use some cheering up since last Friday...well, I mean..um...you know.

Buffy knew what Willow was talking about. She'd had kind of a rough week when it came to dealing with the pain of Angel's sudden return and then his sudden exit as Angelus came back.

"I'm sorry I brought it up Buffy", Willow said, suddenly realising she'd just made the friend whom she was trying to cheer up feel worse.

Buffy shrugged off the feeling of pain. , she told herself, determined to at least forget Angel for one night.

"Don't worry about it Will. I'll meet you guys at the Bronze in an hour, okay?"

"Sure, see you there", she replied, sounding releived that Buffy didn't sound to upset.

They both hung up. Buffy went upstairs to change and get ready.

< I never have anything to wear > She thought as she stared at her closet of clothes. She finally chose a short but loose black skirt with a tight white tank top and a white long sleeved see-through shirt to go over it.

She checked her appearence in the mirror when she was done.

< I need a necklace > she thought as she looked at the low V-neck of her tank top.

She looked through her jewelry box and pulled out the silver cross Angel had given her the first time they had met.

she thought sadly as she put the necklace on and headed down the stairs.

As she reached the bottom of the stairs her Slayer senses kicked in with a slight tingling feeling. A vampire was near.

Buff carefully opened the door and peeked out. She scanned the trees and bushes quickly before stepping out onto the porch. When she saw nothing she went back into the house to wait until it was time to go to the Bronze.

Buffy shut the door and the spider-tingly sense went away.

she thought as she headed into the living room to watch t.v.

It hadn't been but five minutes when her mind began to wander and she ignored the t.v. She began thinking about Angel.

she thought as she rolled her eyes.

She remembered the night after the good Angel visited her. Angelus had stood outside her house staring up at her. she thought as a shiver ran down her spine.

< I wish I knew what he was thinking. He just stood there. I half expected him to try to storm the house and kill me! Then he just got angry and walked away. > She rolled her eyes again.

Buffy looked at her clock. It was 8:32

< I have to meet Willow and the others in a half an hour. Better get walkin' >

She got up and headed out the door. The minute she stepped onto the porch the spider-tingly sense came back.

"Okay...whoever you are lets get this over with, I have somewhere I need to be", she called out.

"Well I hate to keep you waiting", Angelus said as he stepped out of the shadows to her right.

Buffy's heart skipped a beat when she saw him

"Well you know I'd always wait for you", she said sarcastically, but at the same time trying to be menacing.

He smirked at her. "I know"

She couldn't tell if he was serious or if he was joking.

Buffy took a couple steps toward him. They were now only three feet from each other.

"Well this is all fine and dandy but can we please fight now" she said, staring him in the eyes.

"Your wish is my command", he said as he swung at her. She blocked it easily and took a shot of her own. She connected with a hard right, knocking him to the side, but not down. She pulled out her hair pin that also doubled as a stake and came at him again. Before she could get within striking distance of his heart he kicked her in the gut. Hard. She dropped the pin/stake and fell to the ground. He kicked her again and again until the pain was so great that she couldn't move.

Angelus stared down at the consious, but unmoving Buffy when he heard a familiar voice in his head. The same voice that had tormented him so last week.

, he thought

"Oh come now Angelus, you know you think she looks good in that cute little skirt" she said in a mocking voice in his head.

he thought back, angrily

"I've said it before and I'll say it again. Denial is such and ugly thing". With that she was silent.

In the time that he had been distracted, Buffy had rolled over onto her stomach and attempted to get up. With a growl he picked her up by her shoulders and threw her into the side of the house. Before she could regain her composure he grabbed her by the neck and held her in place with her back against the house. He leaned towards her, preparing to bite.

"Do it", she choked out as his grip on her neck tightened.

"You've always admired her courage, haven't you? Among other things that is", Cassandra said inside his head, still mocking him. If he could see her she probably would have been smirking at him to.

Angelus pulled away from Buffy and closed his eyes.

he thought at her, now furious that she was interfering. He felt her presence leave.

Angelus opened his eyes and glared at Buffy. She stared back, unwavered. He leaned in again to bite her but changed his mind at the last minute. He began kissing her instead. Hard, and roughly.

He pulled away and looked at her face. Her features were a mix of shock, fear, and confusion.

he thought angrily

He took her head in both his hands and slammed it hard into the wall of the house, knocking her unconsious.

Buffy awoke slightly. She recalled what had just happened. Angel was about to kill her, but instead he kissed her. No, not Angel. Angelus! Mr. Hey-my-ex-girlfriend-is-the-Slayer-and-I'm-an-evil-vampire-so- I-want-to-kill-her-and-her-friends actually kissed her!

Buffy tried to look at her surroundings but could barely open her eyes much less turn her head.

She felt the sensation of floating.

She thought. she thought in alarm.

Angelus was moving quickly through the shadows. Despite his vampire strength she could feel he was putting forth a great deal of effort in carrying her.

Buffy tried to move, struggle, fight, anything!

Angelus growled down at her and shifted her weight in his arms.

Buffy found she was to weak to do anything but lay limp in his arms.

For some reason it felt good to be in his arms. To feel they're strong muscles tighten and relax at the effort of carrying her.

Buffy felt her head throb with pain and remembered how he had slammed it into the wall.

she thought, trying to ease the tension which only seemed to build.

Buffy moaned. Half from the pain in her head and half to release some of the tension she felt.

Angelus stopped running and layed her down on the grass. He almost did it gently, but being Angelus and not Angel he wasn't quite capable of that.

After he set her down he cradled her head in his lap and began pulling her shirt up.

she thought in fresh fear and alarm.

Buffy prepared herself for the worst but was surprised when she found he simply layed his hand over a wound on her side that she didn't know she had.

, she thought with contempt.

Buffy still couldn't open her eyes or move very much.

Angelus tore a piece of his shirt and tied it around her waist to stop the bleeding of the gash she had in her side.

she thought, confused.

"Why?", she managed to choke out.

"Don't speak to me", he growled as he picked her up again and continued to run through the night.

Buffy tried to figure out what he was doing but slipped back into unconsiousness again.

Buffy's eyes suddenly shot open.

was her first thought.

She looked around to find herself lying on a bed in an all to familiar room. She was in Angel's apartment.

Fear and confusion struck her at once. So many questions filled her head.

Buffy lay still and listened to her Slayer senses. She couldn't feel Angelus anywhere near, but she knew he'd be back.

she thought.

Buffy tried to get up but found it surprisingly difficult. She looked around confusidly. Nothing was tying her down. She tried again and was finally able to sit up after 3 minutes of trying. She was able to stand up after five minutes of trying.

< I have to get out > was all she could think.

She tried to walk.

She could see the door through her slightly blurred vision. After taking a few steps her disorianted body lost it's balance and slammed into the wall, knocking a picture and sending it crashing to the ground. She regained her balance as much as she could and tried to walk again. She managed to get a few more steps before she began to feel light-headed and queasy.

She looked at the door again. It suddenly seemed as if it was a mile away.

She frantically tried to reach the door but lost her balance again and fell to the floor.

She lay there in silence.

she realised.

She turned her head weakly to look at the bed. Her whole struggle was in vain for she had only gone a few feet.

She lay on the floor weak and tired from trying to walk.

she thought, determined.

Her hopes were dashed when something else began tugging at her mind. Her Slayer senses began tingling again.

she thought in panic.

She looked around for something she could use as a weapon. She found nothing and even if she did, she didn't have the strength to get it or use it. All she could do is lay helplessly on the floor.

She heard the door open and shut, and fear struck her again. She quickly hid it deep down inside so he wouldn't see it.

she thought grimley to herself.

Buffy watched as Angelus walked over to the bed where she had once lay. He didn't notice her as he passed her on the floor. When he saw the empty bed he growled angrily and whirled around to search for her. When he saw her lying on the floor his anger turned to a sly smile.

"Couldn't walk, could you?", he asked as he casually strolled over to where she lay. "The drug is called Menoxene in case you wanted to know. I'm surprised you don't remember. I had to put it in water and pour it down your throat." He laughed. "You choked on it for quite some time".

she realised.

"How long have I been here?", she asked from her position on the floor.

"About two days I'd say".

she thought hopefully.

Buffy turned her attention back to Angelus. He had been staring at her while she was lost in thought. It wasn't a normal kind of stare though. It made her feel...well...naked or something.

She gave him a hey-why-are-you-staring-at-me look and he turned away.

He left her lying on the floor and went to sit on the couch.

"Well thats real gentlemanly like", she said snidley. "Are you just going to leave me here?"

"You forget I'm not a man, and yes I am going to leave you there" he retorted back. "You see...I haven't really decided what I'm going to do with you yet. Naturally I'll probably kill you in the end, but I want to have my fun first", he said, his sly smile creeping across his face again.

"Well thats real comforting", she said sarcastically.

He smiled at her again. "Just wait"
