Buffy walked through the cemetary on patrol. It had been a pretty
quiet night as far as vampires went.
BUFFY (sighing)
She glances at her watch
BUFFY
she thought.
She was supposed to meet Willow and Xander at the Bronze, but Giles had insisted that she patrol first.
Five minutes came and went. Buffy turned around and was on her way out of the cemetary when a vampire burst out of a grave in front of her.
BUFFY
" Great. Just when I thought I was going to have a demon-free night", she said as the vampire came towards her.
Buffy did a round-house kick, knocking the vampire back. He came at her again, swinging his fists. He made contact to the side of her head, but she retaliated quickly by back-handing him to the ground. She staked him before he could get up and continued on her way out of the cemetary.
LATER, AT THE BRONZE
Willow, Cordelia, and Xander sat at they're usual table at the Bronze.
XANDER
"Hey Will, where's that hairy boyfriend of yours?"
WILLOW
"He's not hairy. Well...not all the time, and he's chained up right now. Its a full moon, remember?", she said protectively.
CORDELIA
"You shouldn't be one to talk about appearences Xander, I mean... does your mom still dress you or what?
XANDER
"Whoa! Another scorcher from the come-back queen", He replied sarcastically. "Tell me again how much you weigh?"
Cordelia's eyes blazed as she glared at him. Cordelia was sensitive about her weight and Xander knew it.
WILLOW
"Xander", Willow said reprimandingly.
XANDER
"I know, I know. I didn't mean it, I'm just messing around", he apoligized.
Cordelia calmed down
BUFFY
"Hi guys", she said as she joined her friends at the table.
WILLOW
"Oh, hi", she said a little to enthusiastically. Willow was lonely without OZ. With him being "away" she felt closer to Buffy since Angel was kind of "away" at the moment too.
They all talked, danced, and laughed together at the Bronze until midnight when they all left to go home. Cordelia took Xander home in her car while Willow and Buffy chose to walk home. Buffy decided to walk Willow home first in case some "bad news" shows up.
Willow stared up at the full moon.
BUFFY
"You miss OZ, hun?", she asked
WILLOW
"What?", she said distractidly. "Oh, yeah I guess so. It's just so hard not seeing him for three whole days. He even refuses to see me during the day time for fear of 'letting his animal side take over' or something like that.
BUFFY
"Yeah, well at least you get him back after three days", she said sadly.
WILLOW
"Oh I'm sorry Buffy. I didn't mean to remind.."
BUFFY
"Thats okay Will", she said cutting her off. "I'm used to it".
They reached Willow's house
BUFFY
"I guess I'll see you tomorrow"
WILLOW
"Yeah. Good night Buffy", she said as she began to close the door.
BUFFY
"Night"
EARLIER THAT NIGHT
Drusilla and Angel were out hunting. They watched Buffy and Willow walk out of sight after leaving the Bronze.
ANGEL
"That Slayer is the thorn in my side", he growled.
DRUSILLA
"Don't worry about her my darling, I'm hungry", Drusilla whined.
A couple walked out of the Bronze talking
DRUSILLA
"Hello", she breathed.
BOY
"Who the hell are you?"
DRUSILLA
"I want to play. And don't talk about home that way"
Angel attacked the girl from behind and sunk his teeth into her neck before she realized what had happend. The boy, watching in fear turned to run but ran straight into Drusilla. She had dawned her "game face".
DRUSILLA
"Leaving so soon?"
She grabbed him by the neck and pulled the screaming boy to her lips. Just before she sunk her teeth into his throat she dropped him and began moaning as if in pain. The boy ran down the alley screaming in terror. Angel dropped the dead girl and ran to cradle Drusilla.
DRUSILLA
"Angel...somethings here", she moaned.
ANGEL
"What? Whats here Dru?"
CASSANDRA
"Me, she said as she stepped out of the shadows behind Angel. "Cassandra".
Angel leaped up and turned to face Cassandra. He still had his vampire face on.
CASSANDRA
"Oh come now, take that ugly thing off. It doesn't suit you", she said, completely unafraid of him.
Angel stared at her for a moment in rage until finally his face morphed back into it's human features.
CASSANDRA
"Now, thats MUCH more pleasant to look at", she said as she began to walk toward him.
Somehow sensing her power he backed off, leaving Dru still sitting there clutching her head. She felt the woman's power much more deeply due to her natural phycic ability.
ANGEL
"What do you want?", he growled.
CASSANDRA
"To help", she said in her light, feathery voice.
ANGEL
"We don't need your help", he replied
CASSANDRA
"Oh I'm not here to help you", she smiled. "I'm here to help the Slayer".
Angel, now furious, began to walk towards her with "unfriendly" intent when Drusilla jumped up in front of him holding him back.
DRUSILLA
"No Angel", she begged. Drusilla turned to look at Cassandra. "She wreaks of power. She'll kill you".
CASSANDRA
"She's quite smart for a crazy lunatic", she retorted. "Tell me something Angel, did you drive her mad before or after you turned her into a vampire?".
ANGEL
"How do you know that?", he asked with menace.
Cassandra walked around them in a circle while Drusilla began to shiver and clutch her head again.
CASSANDRA
"You see, I'm immortal like you, however I'm not a blood-sucking creature of the night. I'm a sorcerer, and I travel from place to place looking for fun. I see I've found it", she said with a smile. "I can see inside your heads. I know your fears and regrets". She leaned closer to Angel, Drusilla cringed away. "I know your deepest desires and undesires", she whispered.
ANGEL
"Okay, great. So what do you want?", he growled, growing impatient.
CASSANDRA
"Simple. I want to play. I'm going to make you desire what you undesire the most", she said with a wicked smile.
ANGEL
"And what would be the point of that?", he asked
CASSANDRA
"Well, there are two points actually. Number one is that I work with the forces of good therefore that definatly puts a damper on our relationship so I want to make you suffer".
ANGEL
"and number two?"
CASSANDRA
"For my enjoyment. I want to see you writh with agony at what I'm going to make you do."
ANGEL
"and how does this help the Slayer?"
CASSANDRA
"You see, thats the trick. I guess you'll just have to find out", she said with a smile.
Cassandra disappeared into thin air. Drusilla let go of her head, looked up at Angel, and began to moan again.
ANGEL
"What is it Dru? She's gone", he said, annoyed.
DRUSILLA
"The bad lady is going to take you away from me".
LATER, THAT EVENING
Buffy left Willow's house and headed towards her own. Once she was inside she went straight to her room. She knew immediatly that someone was there. She turned on the light to see a beautiful woman standing in the corner of her room.
BUFFY
"Who are you?", she asked, careful not to let her guard down in case this person wasn't good news.
WOMAN
"Don't worry. I'm a friend", she said in a soft voice. " My name is Cassandra".
BUFFY
"Why are you here?"
CASSANDRA
"To help you"
BUFFY
"Well that really narrows it down", she said sarcastically.
CASSANDRA
"Soon"
BUFFY
"Soon what?"
Before Buffy could get the words out, the woman was gone.
