I do not own anything on the show. They all belong to people with a lot more money than me, bigger houses and cooler cars. No matter how hard I wish, the characters of Buffy, Angel, Xander and Willow, and the settings used (Sunnydale, etc) do not belong to me.
Author's note: I wrote this on Christmas Eve '98, it's just taken me a very long time to get it ready for posting. This takes place basically any time in the show when Buffy and Angel had a good relationship. I'd say "Bad Eggs" level smoochies. (note: there isn't a whole lot of kissage in this fic) Thaz it, enjoy!

Prologue

She was tired. It had been a really long day. She really didn’t feel like fighting at the moment, but what else can one do when surrounded by a large number of angry, snarling, ready-to-bite-your-neck vampires? *Not much else,* she thought. With an audible sigh, Buffy leaned into a combat stance. She made a quick mental inventory of her weapons. Three stakes, one cross, and a spray bottle full of holy water. Not nearly enough to fend off the mob that she was about to take on. The young Slayer realized she was in sore need of backup. *If only Angel was here...*, she wished. The vampires growled and advanced. There were more than she had originally thought.
A lot more.
With one last glance around her for any sign of help or escape, Buffy prepared to fight a battle she couldn’t even hope to win...
