Spike's Warehouse
2 years after Angel went bad again.
"It's been two years and she's still alive!" Spike yelled. He was peeved that the slayer was still living. "Looks like you can't handle the slayer yourself. 'Have to love her' before you can destroy her. Well you love her, how come you couldn't kill her?"
"She's been fun! I can't just kill a girl just 'cause I want to... well actually, I can. But she made me feel human. That is something that I can't just forgive." Angel said.
"Daddy wants to play." Dru walked in with her doll. "Miss. Edith want to have a party. Let's throw a party. A wondrous party with presents and guests."
"That is a good idea, Dru. A little party to celebrate the 19th birthday of our favourite slayer." Angelus had a plan that would hurt the slayer. A great one.

Sunnydale High
"You're almost nineteen. You must be so excited." Willow and Xander came up to her. They were very enthusiastic about her birthday.
"Yeah! How does it feel to get old?" Xander asked.
"Great! I'm almost nineteen. I might even be getting that car that I wanted. Then we can drive down to the Bronze together. Just do me one little favour. No surprise parties." Buffy still hadn't gotten over her last surprise party. Exactly two years ago. When things were different.
Willow noticed her friend had phased out of the conversation, "Buffy? Is something wrong?"
"Huh? No, no! What would be wrong? I'm almost 19. I might get a new car. I have many things to be happy for in my life." Buffy pushed her thoughts to the back of her mind and forgot about them.
"Hey, are we Bronze-ing it tonight?" asked Xander, while doing a funky dance.
"I got to bail. I have to go home to study for History." Buffy seemed a bit out of it. That remark surprised Wil and Xander. History was the cursed subject for the slayer.
"Are you sure you're alright?" Will asked.
"Yeah I'm fine." The bell rang, "I got to get to class. I'll see you guys later."
Will and Xander watched her walk off.
"She always gets like this on her birthday!" Xander said.
"You can't understand what she had to go through. He's not dead. Well he is, but not to her. She has the constant reminder of him, but it's not really him. He's there, but it's not really him. He's there, but it's not the same guy. You understand?"
"Uh huh!" was all he could say to the very confusing Willow.
"Oh! I can't make it tonight either. I'm going out with Oz. Were going bowling. Something less exciting then slaying."
"Oh, come on Will! You can't leave me by myself. I'm Xand-man. I need friends or I won't function properly."
"Why don't you go with Cordy?"
"Like I want to be seen in public with her."
"Why don't you just admit that you're going out with her? You can't stand one another, but you always end up in a closet."
"Because it gives me the Wiggins."
"I know! Why don't you help Giles research?"
"I have better things to do than coming to school to do extra work."

Sunnydale High Library
"Hey G-man! What's up?" Xander said at the library entrance.
"I told you no to call me that," came the voice from the stacks.
"Okay. Is there anything I can do?"
"Why are you here at this time? It's Friday night. Aren't you usually at the Bronze with Willow and Buffy?"
"Can't I spend some quality time with my favourite watcher?" Giles glared at him, "Alright, alright! Will has a date and Buffy's 'studying', which means she's sulking again."
"Yes. This time of year is always a bad reminder to her." Giles understood the slayer's problem, but didn't know what to do to help her.
She could kill Angel, but that would only make her feel worse. After he changed, they searched through all of his books to find a way to bring him back, but that was just pointless work. They never did find anything that would give him back his soul or even turn him into a human again.
Though Buffy had had the chance to kill him many times, she never did. It was a game to Angel. He has tormented her and stalked her and even showed up at her bedroom windows. He tried many times to get to all her friends, but Buffy was always able to stop him.
"I don't understand." Giles muttered.
"What don't you understand?" Xander was curious. He always thought Giles understood everything.
"Angelus has had countless opportunities to kill Buffy, but he continues to torment her. It's his profile to play with his victim's emotions and mind, but never to this extent. I would have thought that her would have ended this a long time ago."
"Oh! That's a happy thought." Xander said sarcastically.
"Maybe there is a loophole to the curse that we never found. Yes! That's it. Xander, pull out all the books you can on the Romani and of the curse. Find out everything you can on them, that Angel used to have or might have seen before."
"Aye aye Captain." Xander saluted Giles and went to work among the stacks.
"There has to be one and I bet you, he knows what it is." Giles said to himself. "Oh, Xander! Call Willow and get her down here. We have some work to do. If this works, maybe this birthday will be Buffy's best. Don't tell though. I don't want to get her hopes up."
Xander took pleasure in interrupting Willow's date.
"Hello! Xander, what's happening? Is it an emergency?" he heard Willow's voice over the phone.
"G-man needs you on the 'dreaded thing' and he needs you now. He needs info on a certain curse, that a certain vampire use to have."
"Oh... I'm on my way." He heard the phone hang up.

Bowling Alley
Willow hung up the phone, "I'm sorry, but it's the bat signal. Could you drive me to the school library?"
"Sure. Is there anything wrong or happening that I might be able to help with?"
"Slaying stuff. Well sort of. Egh!" Willow nervous, "I'm sorry I have to end our date like this."
"Hey! It's okay. Saving the world is also important."
"Thanks... for understanding that is... um, let's go!"
Oz drove Willow to school and walked her to the library, "Hey man!"
"Hey!" Xander looked up and saw Oz, "Here for slayerette duty or transportation?"
"Um... both, as long as it doesn't involve picking up pieces of guys."
"Grab a book." Xander pointed to all the books in the library.
"Whatcha looking for?"
"Stuff on a Romani curse that restores souls. The one Angel had."
"What did who have?" came a voice from the door. It was Buffy.
"Uh... uh... you know... uh..." Xander stuttered. He couldn't think of anything.
"Um... Oz. He got a new guitar," put in Willow.
"Yeah! It's got four strings," said Oz.
"Okay!" "Where's Giles?"
"Right here," said Giles coming from his office.
"Why do you people keep doing that to me?" said Xander who was very startled by Giles' sudden appearance behind him.
"You know that I have college next year and that I said I might not be staying in Sunnydale? Well, I'm not. I'll be going away for college."
"What?" said everyone in unison.
"I've been excepted to a college that is away from here. As in not here. I'll be moving there for school. A dorm thing. My mom is still going to be here though. So I'll be back on holidays and stuff."
"But what about us?" asked Willow.
"Yeah? Are you going to leave us here to defend ourselves against the evildoers... and bug people?" asked Xander.
"No, of course not! Kendra is moving down here to be a full time slayer. She's coming with her watcher when I leave. She'll be here for you guys."
"Yeah! Kendra the Vampire Slayer! The one with no heart and the book geek," muttered Will.
"She has a heart, she just doesn't show it often." Buffy defended. "She's probably a better slayer than I am, anyway."
"But you the slayer! The original! She can't take your place."
"Come on Will! It's not like I'll never see you again. Every weekend I come back and on holidays as well. I'm only two hours away. So, if there is any major crisis or catastrophe, just call me and I'll be back here for it."
"So you're not going to slay anything anymore?" asked Giles.
"I'll slay. Just in another town."
"Well, if you're set on going, I guess we can't stop you."
'Hey, it's not like I'm leaving you forever. Just on weekdays and it's not until next year. So I might even change my mind before then. So calm. These are just my plans. For now."
"We understand. We'll just do everything in our power to get you to change your mind." Xander said happily.
"You do that," smiled Buffy.
