Buffy had slipped into the Sunnydale High School Library as was shifting through all of Giles' books that were on the Hellmouth.
She was interrupted when she heard people walking towards the library. She quickly hid.
"How are we suppose to find her?" The voice Buffy recognized was Cordelia's.
"I don't know." Another voice and this time it was Angel's.
"We have to find her before she does anything rash. She couldn't have gotten far," said her watcher.
"It's been almost twenty-four hours. She could be anywhere," Xander stated.
"Why, may I ask, are you looking for me?" Buffy said. She stepped out of the stacks.
"Oh Buffy! Where have you been?" Giles asked.
"Around."
"Again with the one word answers. Where?" Xander demanded.
"Nowhere in particular. Walked around... went to the cemeteries... the park... the Bronze... here..."
"Okay... anywhere else?"
"Nope."
"Good," sighed Giles.
"Why do you wanna know where I went? It's not like I'm gonna go any where dangerous or anything."
"We just wanna make sure you didn't do anything rash, like..." Giles trailed off.
"Like what?" Buffy demanded.
"Like face evil alone," Xander stated.
"Why would I face evil alone? It's not my job anymore. My job is to fight vampires and other demons. I'm just a regular slayer again."
"Yes. Now there are three," Willow pointed out.
"Woah, broke way too may rules, haven't we?"
"Yes... but right now we have to figure out, how the balance is going to be restored now that you and Alex are no longer in charge of that," Giles explained.
"No, we don't. It's not our business," Buffy said.
"How is it not our business? If we don't keep the balance, who will?" Xander asked.
"You were never to know, therefore you can't do anything about it," continued Buffy.
"Well we do know. So we help," Cordy announced.
"No, you don't. There's nothing you can do now, anyway. The balance has been disrupted. Nothing can put it to rights now," Buffy said sadly.
"What do you mean?" Giles questioned.
"The evil is winning and there is no one to stop it. The world will become the demon domain."
"What do you mean there's no one to stop it? You're here... we're here... and there are two other slayers... and I don't know how many good demons around the world," Willow asked.
"Only two people could've stopped it from happening. One a child and the other... well me. Alex never got his powers and I've been stripped of mine. The evil can't be stopped now."
