"I can't let her take my baby," Willow said quietly to Oz.
"I know, baby. You said that already," Oz soothed.
"Don't worry. You're baby is safe now," said a voice from the door.
They looked up to see Buffy. She looked older though.
"What happened?" Oz asked quietly.
"You look different... older," Willow commented.
"Yeah, well, I'm twenty-five... just like you."
"Why?"
"I failed in my duty. They punished me," Buffy replied.
"They punished you, by making you look older?"
"No, they punished me by making me human again. I'm a regular, everyday vampire slayer."
"Oh. What about the balance?"
"That's not your concern anymore," said Buffy and she left the room.
"Looks like we have nothing to worry about anymore," Willow said to her baby boy.
"No, it looks like we have more to worry about," announced Oz.
Willow looked up and gave him a puzzled look.

Willow and the newborn, Alex, were released form the hospital the next day.
Everyone was there to greet them, except for Buffy.
"Has anyone seen her?" Giles inquired.
"Not since yesterday in the park," Xander stated.
"She came to visit us yesterday," Willow added.
"Did she seem different?" asked Angel.
"She said that she had to go back to be punished for telling us about Alex's destiny," Cordy said.
"Yeah, her punishment was that she was turned into a human again. Buffy is once again, the vampire slayer," spoke Oz.
"She told us her punishment was death," Xander said quietly.
"What?" came from the group.
"She said her punishment was death," Cordy repeated.
"Why didn't you tell us?" Angel asked.
"She said we couldn't. 'Cause if we did, she wouldn't be able to protect us. We gave her our word that we wouldn't tell," Xander explain.
"Yeah, and lamebrain here just told you." Cordy pointed to Xander.
"We have to find her," Giles said franticly.
"Why? What's wrong?" Willow asked, a guilty look appearing on her face.
"If we don't, she's going to die," Angel said plainly.
