Disclaimer: I do not own any of the characters in this story, although they have been twisted for my own use. I apologize profusely to Joss Whedon for my butchering of his creation. Buffy The Vampire Slayer is owned by Joss Whedon, Mutant Enemy, Sandollar Television, Kuzui Enterprises, 20th Century Fox Television and the WB Television Network. Wow, that's a mouthful!

Part Ten

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Let's go," Xander said anxiously.

"No, we gotta wait until Angel wakes up."

"That won't be for hours. I don't know about you, but I want to take on the baddies while it's still light.

"He has a point," Nathaniel said. "Dramoco thrives in the dark. If we wait until Angel wakes up, it may be too late."

"I don t know about you, but I want Angel at my back," Whistler said.

"Sure," Xander added. "So he can stab it."

"Xander!" Willow said in a high voice.

"Hey, those who don't learn from the past are doomed to repeat it."

Nathaniel looked at the two teens with confusion on his face. He only knew Angel was a vampire and according to Lissa he had a soul. He didn't know the history between these people, but he wasn't sure he cared.

"Please," he said, "if we wait, it be too late to save Lissa. We have to go now."

"I know you wanna keep your sister from dying, but I still say that if they wanted her dead, they wouldn't have dragged her to their base. We can't go in there like idiots."

"You propose we let her die? You can stand around here arguing, but I'm going. Who's with me?"

Whistler couldn't quite believe what he was hearing. He thought Watchers were supposed to be smart. It was a suicide mission if nothing else and running into the fire wasn't the smart thing to do. Or the safe thing.

"Okay, look," Whistler said. "You feel you gotta go in there like a bunch of idiots? Fine, fine, but let's look at it this way, we don't even know where Dramoco's set up."

Whistler nodded feeling sure of himself. They didn't know where Dramoco was and it was a good thing. That should keep them from rushing out to get killed. Everyone else fell silent. Yup, he had them there.

Suddenly the phone rang. Xander jumped and glared at the phone. Whistler sat for a moment just staring at the phone.

"Um," Xander said over the rings. "Is there some way that demons talk on the phone without picking it up that we don't know about?"

"No, why kid?"

"Okay, cause um, you might want to pick it up. I know our ways are strange to you oh wise one."

"Real comedian kid. I was just tryin' to figure out who would have this number. Could be Giles I guess."

Whistler finally picked up the phone and put it to his ear.

"‘Ello?"

"Hello, does an Angel live here?" the voice on the other line asked. It was a smooth as silk voice and one Whistler instantly distrusted.

"What's it to ya?"

"My name is Daemon and I believe I have something you want. She keeps saying something about Angel being able to help us."

"‘She?'"

"Why Lissa of course. You do know her don't you? She has finally come to her senses and has decided to help us. You will want to help as well once you hear what the true problem is. But it's hard to talk about it over the phone. We should meet somewhere, once it's dark of course."

"Yeah. But it's gotta be somewhere neutral."

"You don't trust me. I understand. Name your place."

"Hold on." Whistler lowered the receiver and placed his hand over the mouthpiece. "Okay gang, here's the sitch. This guy says he has Lissa. Well, actually, he says that Lissa is helping him."

"If he's with Dramoco there's no way Lissa would have any part of it," Nathaniel interrupted.

"I kinda figured. Course this guy hasn't admitted to being on Dramoco's side yet. He wants to meet with us. He's insistin' that we'll want to help too."

"Tell him if he brings Lissa with him I'll meet with him gladly."

"Again, I kinda figured. You got a place that's neutral?"

"Tell him we'll meet him at the Old Parkson Library. It's pretty much deserted inside. Should have been torn down long ago. It's empty inside, but it used to be a home. Vampires will have to be invited in."

"This guy will just invite his vampires in then," Willow said. "That or Angel won't be able to go in."

"Not if a member of the family that once owned the house invites him. Let's see, oh yes, my great aunt donated the house to be a library. Of course, Lissa can't enter until I invite her in, but then neither can any other vampires."

"I didn't know it worked like that." Willow said.

"Yes, well it's complicated, and I'm not sure it will completely work, but still."

"It's a place you know well?" Whistler asked.

"Relatively."

"Good." Whistler put the receiver back to his ear. "You still there Daemon?"

"Still waiting for your answer," Daemon replied.

"Okay, you know the Old Parkson Library?"

"If he doesn't, Lissa will," Nathaniel said.

"I think I do." Daemon answered.

"Good," Whistler said. "Meet us there at ten. We'll be waiting."

"We will be there."

"Make sure Lissa is with you, or no deal."

"She'll be there. She's safe I assure you."

"She better be."

Whistler hung up the phone without saying good-bye. He turned to the others.

"We've got work to do before we go," he said. "They aren't going to take us by surprise."
