Spike smiled and he pushed away all uncertainties from his mind. He suddenly realized where he was and who he was surrounded by. Mortals, friends of the Slayer.

~Strange.~ Spike thought, ~The Slayer's not around.~ Didn't matter to him anymore though. Dru's back. "Let's go home." Spike took Buffy's hand and started to lead her out. Buffy wasn't quite sure what to do.

"Wait a minute Spike." Angel started. He tried to stop Spike from taking Buffy but unfortunately was stopped by that same volume he used on Spike. Giles, being the Watcher, told himself that the Slayer's safety was his responsibility. He screwed up every last bit of his courage and also tried to prevent Spike from leaving with Buffy. But, Spike was a vampire, Giles was a mortal. You can guess what happened.

"Spike... I." Buffy began, but never finished.

"Shh. Don't you start too baby. It's gonna be all right. Let's go home." Spike led Buffy home.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"How could we let this happen!" Giles said as soon as he regained consciousness. It was 3:30am, dawn was only an hour and a half away. Angel looked pretty uncomfortable.

"We have to get her back. Any ideas?" Xander racked his brains for something, something to rescue Buffy with.

"Well, we need to know where Spike lives first." Willow suggested. Giles looked to Angel.

"I'm not sure. But I've got a pretty good idea where. But we have to hurry. Sunrise is soon..." He didn't need to continue with that sentence. Everyone had a pretty good idea what would happen.

* * *
"You're awful quiet Dru. What's wrong?" Spike asked. Buffy sat at where Colin used to sit. She was kinda out of it. A little too much had happened over too little amount of time. Some things a Slayer just couldn't handle.
"Nothing."

"It's all right. You can tell me."

"Really Spike. It's nothing. I just need a little time." Spike wasn't sure but, had Drusilla lost her accent? He waved it off as paranoia. Buffy looked at the little window and saw that the beginning of the sunrise.

"We should get in soon. The sun's gonna be up."

"I want to stay out a little longer." Spike looked at Drusilla. He couldn't refuse her.

"Sure luv." He walked around a bit. But there really was nothing much to do.

"Spike!" Spike turned.

"Angel." He sneered. "Dru, stay back." Spike turned and was about to attack.

"Stop!"

"What?"

"Stop. I can't play... this game anymore. Spike... I'm so sorry. I was wrong." Spike turned back to his human face and walked back to his love.

"Wrong? What are you talking about?" A strange transformation took place. Buffy no longer appeared as Drusilla to Spike. "What's 'appening?"

A door to the warehouse opened and entered Xander, Willow and Giles. Pre-dawn light seeped in.

"What 'appening? Dru?" It was apparent that Drusilla was not Drusilla, but rather Buffy, the Slayer. Spike wanted to be angry but he couldn't summon it up. He felt strangely at peace somehow.

Outside, the sun began to rise. The first beam of light came in from the little window up above.

"I'm sorry Spike. So sorry. I didn't mean to deceive you like this." Spike backed away from Buffy.

"Spike." A wispy voice echoed to Spike. He turned around at least twice without finding the source.

"Who... who's there?" Buffy heard it too, but no one else did.

"Spike. I missed you." Spike looked at the sun-light flooded space beyond the open door.

"Dru? But... but it can't be. You're dead."

"I'm all alone here. I've missed you so much."

"I've missed you too." Everyone looked puzzled. Spike, to them, appeared to be holding a conversation with no one.

Drusilla stood alone in the sun. Her cheeks so pale, her expression so grim. Spike walked towards the open door. Angel reached out to stop him but Buffy prevented him. "Let him go." She whispered.

"He's gonna kill himself!" Angel hissed back.

"No, he's going home."

Spike walked closer and closer to the sunlight. "You can be with me now. We'll be together, forever." Drusilla smiled.

"I can be with you now." Spike repeated as he stepped into the light. He stumbled from the pain. And with a blinding flash and screech, Spike turned to dust.

Everyone in the warehouse blocked their eyes from the light. They were all equally dumbfound. Buffy felt a tear slid down her cheek. Angel started to lead her away but she felt compelled to take that one last look.

"Look!" Buffy cried out. Xander scrunched his eyebrows, he could see nothing. A faint shade of what Spike used to be reappeared at the spot where he vanished before. Buffy watched as Spike took those final steps to Drusilla. They embraced and kissed. They were finally together. Forever.
