Part Eight

The Ouija became silent after that.
Spike, too, became infinitely speechless. He was trapped between two thought-structures. He was trapped between two beings, two beings whom he both desperately loved. And, he had to choose which one he want to live.
Spike took out a coin from his back pocket. Heads is death for Angel. Tails is death for Dru. Spike thought.
He got tails. Then tails; then heads. He sighed, then decided to flip it at least 1000 times before making a decision.
Even vampires had to let fate choose for them sometimes.

Zenora was exhausted.
She heaved a sigh, as her last student exited the room. Then, she, too, exited from that dreadful place.
She headed to the willow tree where she trapped Willow.
As she neared it, she heard rustling in the greenery. She hurried over, hoping Willow wouldn't have recovered from the sleeping spell she put over her. She also hoped that if she did, she wouldn't have broken free of the restraints she put on her.
Zenora decided to metamorphose into Cordelia, just in case.
When she got there, she was greeted by Willow. She jumped, surprised at Willow's strong resistance to her restraints.
"Cordy, you've finally come!" Willow exclaimed.
Zenora nodded, too baffled for speech.
"Who have you brought with you?"
Zenora opened her mouth to speak, but no words came out. She cleared her throat, "Um...no one. Who have you brought?"
Willow looked away, shame in her eyes. "No one, either."
"Syphil will be very displeasured." Zenora said.
"But, we have trapped the Slayer, the Watcher, and all the Slayer's friends... left."
"We have?! Um, I mean, yea, I guess Syphil would like that. Where did we keep them?"
"You mean the Slayer and Co.?"
"Yes."
"In pod 1." Willow replied.
"Where is that?"
"There." Willow pointed. She raised an eyebrow, "Is anything wrong?"
"Eh.... Can you.. uh.. raise it?"
Willow motioned her hands.
The wo/men-eating thing sprung up.
Zenora sprung, then tied and gagged Willow up before she could lower the pod back to the ground.
Then she dashed over to the plant and delivered an army-killing kick to it.
It shuddered. She kicked it again, forming a peculiar dent in its stem. She kicked it several more times before it toppled over.
Buffy emerged from it.
Then came Xander and Oz.
They toppled to one location and sat there, dumbly.
"We've got to get out of here!" Zenora proclaimed.
"Zenora?" Buffy questioned.
"Yes."
"You know her?" Xander asked dumbfounded. He took an immediate liking to Zenora, but couldn't think of any clever catches because of how tired he was.
"Kind of..." Buffy trailed off.
"Listen, we've got to get out of here!" Zenora repeated again.
"Can't... too tired." Oz said, and he dozed off.
"Buffy, can you walk?" Zenora asked.
"Uh... yes." Buffy stood, wheezed, walked and wheezed. "I'm okay." She gasped.
"Then, we've got to leave."
"What about Oz," Buffy gasped, her eyelids were about to drop. "and Xander?" She said, gesturing to Oz and Xander.
"They can't walk nor stay awake. There's no way we could leave efficiently with them."
"We can't just leave them here!" Buffy complained, adraline suddenly flooding into her.
"No, we can't." Zenora said. Then, she knocked Buffy unconscious. "But I can." Then she carried her away.
A moment later, the real, possessed Cordelia arrived. She untied Willow, then commanded another pod to capture Oz and Xander.
If Zenora had not left sooner, both, she and Buffy would have gotten stuck in a pod that would eventually become their coffins.

"Damnit!" Spike said. He had gotten five hundred heads and five hundred tails. "I guess there really is no real force besides chance, most of the time."
He closed his eyes and covered his face with his hands.
He stayed like that, so still that he seemed to be in suspended animation, for precisely five minutes.
Then, he dropped his hands. He opened his eyes. There was a strange sheen in them. A strange decided aura.
Spike had decided whom he wanted to die and whom he wanted to live.
He wanted Angelica to live... and Drusilla to die.
And nothing would change his mind.
