Xander and Willow burst into the coroner's office with Cordelia and Oz right behind them as the technician was starting to push a body away. Pausing only for a second, they saw a familiar tweed clad figure turning to them in what seemed like an eternal moment. A painful eternal moment.

thought Willow frantically. Her legs started to take a life of their own. thought Xander as hysterics started coing into his throat.
Giles swung around and started to intercept them as they started to shout.
"That's not her! Where is she?"Xander shouted as Giles caught him by the shoulders. Willow dodged past Giles and ran right into the arms of the coroner. "Let me see! It's not her, it can't be Buffy!"
Then gently, the Brittish voice said "It's Buffy. Don't look. I and her mother have seen her."
"Oh, my God!" said Cordelia in a horrified tone. Everyone swung to look at her. Her brown eyes were filled with horror as she looked upon the uncovered body. The sneakers were well worn with several faded areas in the jeans. Her pink tank top was all bloodied. And there was no face. It was gone, all that there was, all that could be seen was a mass of blonde hair. "Oh, My God!"
