I do not own, nor have any part of the characters in Buffy the Vampire Slayer. This is purely for the enjoyment of myself and other fans. Most people have probably imagined part of this story, but I decided someone had to right it. Don't get me wrong, I love Angel, but this story had to be written. Spike fans, Buffy fans, enjoy.

Part One

Buffy idally scribbled things in her notebook. But eventually what she wrote all turned out the same. Angel, Angel, Angel. She held her pen as if it were a stake and jabbed it into a heart circling her ex-lover's name.

"Miss Summers," her algebra teacher snapped accusingly, "is there something you find offensive about trinomial factoring?" Buffy blinked, realizing she'd been caught.

"No ma'am, I just thought I saw a spider." The teacher shook her head and turned back to the board.

* * *
Angel wrapped an arm around Drusilla's waist and perched his head on her shoulder, looking at Spike.

"Spikey, you missed a great hunt last night." Angel chuckled. Dru giggled madly, and stroked Angel's hair with her hands.

"Devastated, I assure you, mate." Spike replied with bitter sarcasm.

"Come now, pet," Drusilla said, "don't be like that." She walked over to him, but her pushed her away and rolled his wheelchair back.

"Not tonight, love." He sighed. Angel grabbed Dru's arm and pulled her back to him again.

"Come on Dru, lets not let him spoil our party. I can still dance." He held her dangerously close, and they danced to the music of the night, as Spike looked on, the anger building on his face.

Staring at her drink, Buffy was completely ignorant to her surroundings at the Bronze. Willow had Oz. Xander had Cordelia. Buffy sighed and sucked the salt off her pretzel. She could remember when she had been happy too. Then a demon had gone and corrupted the soul of the man she loved. She felt a tap on her shoulder and turned to see Xander.

"Hey Buff, the sad look is out this month."

"Sorry Xander, I think it's reached that time of night where I head on home."

"Buffy," he said, "stay. I could take you up on that rain check for a dance." He did his best Travolta impression.

"I'll pass Xander, sorry."
